The next couple of days passed quickly. Tex and Yuri worked tirelessly to upgrade themselves while me and reano tried to make sense of what was going on. That day, Tex and Yuri went to the training grounds for their free period while me and reano went towards the library, hoping something would be able to explain what happened a little better. When I got there I showed the librarian my library card and my plus one pass since reano didn't have a library pass. We started searching, splitting up in the library, I went down the stairs while reano stayed on the main floor. I walked through most of the books that even seemed similar to our situation but nothing. There wasn't even anyone down here for me to ask about ancient monsters. I had already looked through all the books on monsters, gouls, spirits and creatures. Nothing. I sighed, leaning on a bookshelf when a green light shines from my satchel, it startled me and I hesitated before I opened my satchel. A green gem identical to the one I remember the dragon shattering flew out of my satchel. It hummed as it darted to a corner of the library. Something told me to follow it so I did. I ran after the gem, it forced itself behind a bookshelf so I pulled the bookshelf out just enough to see a door, cracked open and old. I opened it slowly, looking around as I did. It was a hallway, it had a stone brick floor and old rock walls like a dungeon. I walked into it and the door slammed behind me. I looked behind me, immediately trying the handle of the door, it was locked. I had no choice but to go down the hallway, the green gem floated at the end of the hallway as if it were waiting for me. I slowly made my way down the hall, careful for any kind of trap that could be there. My footsteps echoed each time my heel hit the ground. When I got to the end of the hallway, I held out my hands as the gem glowed and dropped into my hands. I looked around and saw branches and vines covering a certain spot on the door. I touched them, then moved them to find a hole that looked to be the size of the gem, just like in the first dungeon. I knew there wasn't any going back now so I removed the vines and greenery before putting the gem into the hole. The gem glowed brightly, causing me to cover my eyes, when it stopped glowing, the wall rumbled. It moved, opening into a giant circular room with books on the walls, like a old library. The gem floated back to me and I put it back into my satchel, walking in the room as the passage back shut behind me again. I walked up to the walls, various spots had been carved out of the walls where books sat. I walked towards the center, a magic circle carved into the ground itself. Before I knew it, wind blew, my long hair falling out of its bun and flowing in the wind. My eye patch flew off my face, I didn't have time to even look for it as I wondered where the wind was even coming from. There weren't any openings in this giant room. That's when the magic circle glowed green. My hair flew straight upwards as I backed up. Something forming in the center of the magic circle. A man, he formed quickly, he had short light green hair, striking mint eyes that looked like they came from heaven. He wore a suit, white in color with various details in gold. He had markings on his face that were symetrical on both sides and then his ears grew. He had a magic staff, shaped like a tree branch with a floating ball of light at the top surrounded by smaller branches. He was an elf. Elves went instinct thousands of years ago. How was one even here, and in an ancient at that. He looked at me, I could see his face shift. He wasn't judging me. He looked at me with curiosity, looking at my eyes, then my hair, and even the scar on my neck. I backed up. Cautious of him. He had a warm glow to him that calmed me and I didn't like that fact.
???: don't worry child. I could never harm you
That shocked me. His voice seemed so....majestic. he looked around before he grabbed a pair of glasses from his suit pocket. When he put them on his eyes seemed like they were being highlighted. The glasses had the mark of the elves on each side. I looked up at him, he was tall, I expected that but it seemed like he towered over me by a lot more than reality showed. Was this some kind of intimidation tactic?
???: if I may ask, how did you get in here? Let alone activate my magic.
Kumiko: who are you....
???: ah yes, I did forget to introduce myself, my name is legolin, what's yours
Kumiko:....call me kumi.....
Legolien: what brings you to my library young one
Kumiko: w-well....maybe you could help me gain some answers?
Legolien: answers? May I ask, what seems to trouble you
Kumiko: well it doesn't seem like there is a way out of here....you see, I stumbled in here on accident
Legolien: accident? That's not right? Youd have to use large amounts of mana to move the stone wall
Kumiko: well.....I didn't exactly do it
Legolien: you have my attention
Kumiko: a gem did.....I don't even know how I got it either
Legolien: gem? Hm, well, I'm one of the creatures that could get you answers you need, may I see the gem?
Kumiko: uhm....
Legolien: don't fret child. I will not harm you.
Kumiko: I sigh, pulling out the gem and showing it to him, a gust of wind suddenly picked it up out of my hands. Legolien took one look at the gem and I saw his eyes widen, even if it was for a split second what?
Legolien: per chance.....are you hear to get answers from me about a certain creature?
Kumiko: how did you-
Legolien: settle down, itll all be clear.
Kumiko: what?
Legolien: follow me closely don't go far or you'll get lost
Kumiko: what happens then?
Legolien: if you get lost you can always be found. My magic flows through this whole place, follow me this way young one
I followed him as his magic created passageways and beautiful plants, it was like this place was enchanted. All my worries slipping away like a current. He led me through the passage to a opening arch with vines and tree roots on it. I touch them as I walked past, when I look ahead I see a giant room, a tree right in the middle. Huge and healthy with a waterfall behind it that flowed into a river that circled the room before heading off onto a different path. Legolien led me past the tree, the vines moving like the tree itself was alive and aware of our presence. With just a wave of his staff the water created a path for us, the water in the waterfall stopping In an arch, providing a path. He let me go first, when I stepped in there....there was a stone tablet with four creatures on it, only two of the creatures glowed. The dragon and the kitsune. The dragon glowing black and the kitsune glowing white. There were many other magic circles carved into the walls and floors of this room
Legolien: welcome young one.
Kumiko: where....is this?
Legolien: now for your first question, you came to talk about the four ancient beasts didn't you?
Kumiko: how did you know that?
Legolien: the gem a gust of wind placed the gem back into my hands there are four of them. One given to each beast. You have the dragon don't you, that's why your eye has started glowing black
Kumiko: what are you talking about
Legolien: the ancient prophecy lost to time itself
Kumiko: but what does that have to do with me?
Legolien: fate brought you to that dungeon you fell into
Kumiko:...I was always told fate would hate me
Legolien: let me give you a peice of advice. Nothing heals the past like time, and they can't steal, the fate your born to find
Kumiko: what does that mean
Legolien: fate has a path set out for us all, everything happens for a reason and fate gives us room to choose our own path
Kumiko: still how does all this involve me specifically
Legolien: you had no mana
Kumiko: no mana? Yeah I know?
Legolien: that means you had enough room in your body to store the ancient beasts spirit
Kumiko: so your saying....
Legolien: the dragon you met has chose to reside within you, trusting its fate to you
Kumiko: so what is this prophecy? What does it mean?
Legolien: come take a seat, let me explain more clearly
I sat down in front of the stone tablet, legolien sitting in front of me. He started to explain how once in our history, these ancient beasts were in charge of our entire world, one in charge of the sea, one in charge of the sky, one in charge of the ground and the last in charge of the stars. They each had their own qualifications and abilities. But one day, long ago, something broke the peace of our world. Monsters. They invaded and war was waged. Unfortunately, the beasts ended up arguing on how the situation should be handled and the beasts who once protected us ended up fighting against each other than working together. A spell was placed on them. A curse. Each beast was confined to a dungeon that couldn't be detected and moved around constantly, locked in a magic circle somewhere in their dungeons. They were separated and isolated from the world. Monsters roamed free on the planet and humans had trouble dealing with them. The prophecy said one day all four will gain a visitor to their dungeons. The last chance for reconciliation before they are permanent sealed within that dungeon. If they succeed their bodies will be freed from the curse they were placed in. Thousands of years had passed since the day they were cursed into isolation and the prophecy faded into nothing. Not one person remembering their existence. True isolation. Legolien explained how the person that would fall into the dungeons would gain the beasts spirit to protect, but the dungeon could only be found by one without mana entirely. Which once was said to be impossible.
Legolien: and on top of all of that. The chances of four humans to be born around the same time without mana was extremely thin. Even if one person was missing, the prophecy wouldn't come true. So considering the fact that you actually have the ancient dragon beast's soul in your body is remarkable. Now if only we could find the other three. But it seems like two of you guys haven't found their fate yet
Kumiko: well....does that mean reano is actually a kitsune?
Legolien: reano?
Kumiko: I met him recently, he knew about me falling into the dungeon before I even said anything so I assume he fell into one before me
Legolien: ah, I see, well, I'm apart of this prophecy now
Kumiko: what?
Legolien: elves actually are the ones that sealed the beasts
Kumiko: really? How bad was the fighting?
Legolien: my ancestors said it was horrible, they leveled mountains and flooded valleys
Kumiko: so-
Legolien: I want to help them, the elves didn't want to isolate them so it's the least I can do. Come to me if you have any questions, now that I'm freed I'll stay down here in this Library, there are many entrances too
Kumiko: thank you so much legolien
Legolien: take this
He handed me a dusty book with all four of the beasts on the cover
Kumiko: what's this?
Legolien: everything you need to know, and it will help you explain to the others, now get back to the kitsune
After that conversation I was blown out of the library, being pushed back into the school library. I immediately went to find reano and tell him everything.
