Chapter 5: The Trial of Fire
Seraphina's pride refused to let her submit so easily. The Saintess of Light would never accept defeat… or so she thought.
But before she could process her emotions, another danger struck.
A massive explosion rocked the cathedral. The ground cracked as a figure emerged from the flames.
> [New Villain Identified: Ignis, The Flame Tyrant]
🔥 Status: Enemy (Hostile Intent Confirmed)
The armored warlord stepped forward, flames swirling around his molten fists. His crimson eyes locked onto Arin with a predatory grin.
"So, you're the one causing such a stir," Ignis rumbled. "I've crushed kings and burned nations. What makes you think you can stand against me?"
Arin rolled his shoulders. "You're just another stepping stone."
Ignis roared, unleashing a torrent of fire. The cathedral's holy barriers flickered, barely holding against the inferno.
Seraphina's instincts screamed at her to fight. But her eyes darted to Arin instead.
Would he dodge? Would he counter?
He did neither.
He walked through the flames.
The air shimmered as his aura devoured the fire, dispersing it like a mere breeze.
Ignis's grin faltered. "What…?"
Arin raised a hand. A pulse of black and crimson energy formed in his palm.
Then—
BOOM!
A single blast tore through Ignis's armor, sending the Flame Tyrant crashing into the cathedral's shattered pillars.
Silence.
Seraphina stared. Lilith whistled. Selene smirked.
Arin stepped over Ignis's motionless body. "I thought you'd last longer."
> [Ignis Defeated. Victory Achieved.]
A triumphant smirk played on his lips as he turned to Seraphina. "Still questioning my power?"
Seraphina bit her lip. Her world had just been turned upside down.
> [Affection Increased: 60% → 90%]
Lilith nudged Arin. "Looks like the holy knight is yours now, Lord~"
Seraphina's face burned red, but she didn't deny it.
For the first time in her life… she felt powerless.
And for the first time, she wanted to submit.
