When Haneul received the sudden announcement that she was being transferred to the CEO's office, she was utterly baffled. Secretary? That wasn't part of her career plan. She was a legal advisor, a rising star in the corporate world, and now… she was being reassigned to assist some high-and-mighty CEO?
Still, she couldn't refuse. This was a direct order from Chairman Hyeon himself.
At lunch, she shared the news with her colleagues, expecting sympathy. Instead, the room fell into stunned silence. Some of the men looked at her with envy, while a few women exchanged sharp glances, their expressions a mix of admiration and… jealousy?
"You're kidding, right?" one of the senior legal advisors, Mr. Park, finally spoke.
"No. Why would I joke about this?" Haneul frowned. "It's confusing. I don't even know who this CEO is. I mean, I know of him, but I've never met him. I don't even know what he looks like!"
Another colleague, Minji, sighed dramatically. "Unbelievable. You really don't know?"
"Know what?"
"Haneul," Minji leaned in, whispering conspiratorially, "he's literally the hottest guy in the company."
"That's an understatement," another woman piped up. "He's ridiculously attractive, rich, powerful, and completely untouchable. Women from all departments try to get his attention, but he's colder than ice."
Haneul blinked. "Uh… okay? And?"
Minji groaned. "And?! You're about to become his secretary! Do you know how many women here would kill for that job?"
"She doesn't even realize how lucky she is," someone muttered.
Haneul shook her head, still confused. "I don't get why everyone's acting like I just won the lottery. I'm a legal advisor. This feels like a demotion, not a promotion."
A few people exchanged glances, but no one said anything.
She had no idea that the CEO was Ra Hyeon. No idea that the very man she once loved was about to become her boss.
And when she finally met him?
It was going to be one hell of a shock.
