Karan was getting more and more intrested in her.
He said " self defence? More like you teaching them a lesson. Where did you learn how to fight ?"
Zara was annoyed " what would I get if I tell you?"
Karan grinned "what do you want? I can give you."
"I am not interested in materialistic things so, find a good reason next time."
Zara was not sure if she should ask him about his other identity because she didn't have any evidence to prove her accusation. She postponed her thoughts.
Zara was attracted to him. She never felt this way before. Whenever any guy came to talk near her, she never felt like talking more but now that Karan was there in front of her, she felt like staying there for little more time and knowing more about him.
Karan thought about her conversation with Tarun when she said that she like someone else and asked nonchalantly " Did you make any friends after coming here? You don't look like a social person. "
Zara arched her eyebrows and then she looked in the space in front of her. She replied after a pause, " I don't like making friends but I have some acquaintances here and there. "
Karan got a message on his phone as soon Zara finished her sentence. Karan saw the message on his phone and looked serious.
Zara also got a call during this time from an unknown number.
She picked up the call and said " hello".
She heard a painful voice of a girl from other side of the call. It was Tara's voice " sister, I am sorry. Please ask them to leave me. I won't do anything evil anymore. I am really sorry. Please forgive me."
Zara was puzzled " I don't know what are you talking about."
Tara cried in pain " you sent so many people to beat me up. You are heartless. I am already in so much pain that I feel like I am going to die. Don't joke with me. Please tell them to leave me. I won't do that anymore. I promise I will leave this city with my family and won't come here again in my whole life. "
Zara was confused " I didn't send anyone. Why would I waste my precious time on a weak girl like you? Who gave you my number?"
Tara replied "the people you sent to beat me gave me phone to call you and apologize. Why are you pretending to be innocent?"
Zara was thinking and then she saw Karan smiling, looking at her.
She thought ' I am really overthinking. Why is he smiling as if he sent the people to beat her.....Why would he do that? It is just my overthinking due to bad timing. Isn't it?"
Karan didn't told her that it was him who took revenge on her behalf because he himself was unsure about his feelings and emotions.
Zara hung up the phone and looked at the handsome face of Karan again .
She said " Do you have anything to tell me? "
Karan looked at her suspicious eyes and replied flirtatiously" yes I want to tell you something. "
Zara's heart skipped a beat at his flirtatious tone. She said " I am serious. If you don't have anything important to tell then I am going."
Karan smiled and said " I am serious too. There is an auction next week. I need a partner to go there. Will you like to go with me?"
Zara was stunned at the invitation to an auction. She had a lot of questions regarding his life and work but she suppressed the desire to ask.
She replied nonchalantly" sure, why not.. . You kept my fight a secret so I can do you a favour too."
Karan chuckled " Thanku miss Zara for the honour. I will see you next week then."
Zara waved bye to him and went back to the crowd where her parents were waiting for her.
