Chapter 51 - Must End The Aurora Bandit

Chapter 50

Kaito, surrounded by five very angry, very powerful bandits, did the only logical thing—he screamed for help.

"NEPHIS! BLAZE! VOLT! AKIRA!—"

Nothing.

The bandit leader smirked. "No one's coming."

Kaito gulped, then yelled even louder, "LUCAS! CRAZY LUCAS! HELP!"

That turned out to be the magic word.

BOOM!

Something blurred through the air, and before anyone could react—

BAM!

One of the bandits was sent flying several meters away, his body bouncing like a ragdoll before crashing into a wall and slumping unconscious.

The dust settled, revealing a tall, brown haired figure standing in front of Kaito.

Lucas cracked his neck. "No one apart from me has permission to kill this idiot."

Kaito blinked. "Wait, what—"

Lucas ignored him, locking eyes with the bandit leader, who had gone stiff.

"You… you're not in the Collection Phase," the leader muttered. "You're… Alkan Phase?"

Lucas smirked. "Took you that long to notice?"

The leader hesitated, but then his expression hardened. "Even if you're at the Alkan Phase, you're alone. We can still take you down."

Lucas sighed. "You could try."

One of the bandits, the second-strongest among them, charged forward. His hands glowed with dense earth essence, forming a massive stone hammer.

"DIE!" he roared, swinging it down.

Lucas raised his clawed hand.

"Superior Claw Strike."

A wave of pure energy shaped like a claw slashed through the air.

SHING!

The stone hammer? Split in two.

The bandit's entire arm? Severed clean off.

He screamed, stumbling back as blood sprayed into the dirt.

The remaining bandits froze in horror.

"WHAT THE HELL?!" one of them shrieked.

Even Kaito was momentarily speechless. But then, seeing an opening, he grinned and charged forward.

"Time to shine!"

One second later—

WHAM!

Kaito was punched across the street, bouncing off the ground like a sack of potatoes.

Lucas sighed, rubbing his temples. "And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why Kaito is not allowed to fight alone."

Kaito groaned from the ground. "B-betrayal…"

The bandits were still in shock, but the leader growled, "ATTACK TOGETHER!"

The remaining four bandits lunged at Lucas, launching spells left and right—lightning bolts, boulders, wind blades.

Lucas look at them unimpressed.

With a swift movement, his claws slashed through every attack, dispersing them like mere smoke.

Then, with four quick, precise strikes, he obliterated them.

One got his leg shattered.

Another got sent flying into a building.

The third collapsed after taking a clawed punch to the ribs.

The fourth straight-up passed out from sheer terror.

The leader, now bleeding and trembling, took a step back.

Lucas stared him down with a smug grin.

"You don't know who we are, do you?" the bandit leader stammered.

Lucas deadpan. "I do. And that is why you're in trouble."

Later.

The bandit leader, now tied up and on his knees, looked around.

Surrounding him were a group of teenagers. But not just any teenagers.

These ones… were monsters.

The only one who looked friendly was a long-haired girl.

'Maybe she'll have mercy—' he thought.

Then, the white cat on her shoulder jumped down—and transformed into a MASSIVE white tiger, fangs bared.

'Nope. Nope. NOPE.'

Then he turned to Volt, whose entire body was crackling with yellow lightning, his hand gripping his sword hilt tightly.

Then Akira, who had a massive ice cube floating beside her, her expression dark and unreadable.

Then Lucas, cracking his claws together, eyes glowing with pure wild energy.

Then Blaze, standing at the front, his entire body engulfed in flickering fire and lightning.

'I. Am. SCREWED.'

In desperate panic, he looked for someone who looked less terrifying—and his eyes landed on Kaito.

'HIM. Yes, he looks normal. Maybe he'll go easy on me!'

Kaito stepped forward, arms crossed, his grin wicked.

"What's wrong, tough guy? Cat got your tongue?"

The bandit gulped.

"Oh, don't worry. We're going to take real good care of you. Maybe even teach you some respect."

The bandit visibly trembled.

Kaito leaned in close, voice dropping to a whisper.

"Ever been verbally eviscerated before?"

Then, it began.

"Your breath smells like regret and poor life choices." He cover his nose dramatically.

"Even your own shadow would rather leave than be associated with you." He said pointing at the man shadow.

"Are you a bandit or just an unemployed disappointment with extra steps?"

The bandit leader's soul visibly cracked.

Kaito wasn't done.

He smirked, cracking his knuckles.

"Now, tell us everything. Or else…"

He slowly lifted his foot—right over the bandit's most sensitive area.

The bandit screamed in terror.

"OKAY! OKAY! I'LL TALK! JUST DON'T—DON'T CRUSH MY EGGS!!"

The group waited as he spilled everything—including the Aurora Bandits' location and the fact that they had three leaders, one already at the Alkyl Phase.

Blaze exchanged glances with Nephis.

"This just got a lot more dangerous," she murmured.

Lucas stretched. "So what? We're not backing out now."

Minutes later, the group stood on a high cliff, gazing down at the enemy base.

It was huge, practically a small city of criminals.

Kaito whistled. "Sheesh. That's a lot of bad guys."

Volt cracked his neck. "Good. More fun."

Blaze stepped forward, fire raging around him.

"Time to get rid of the so-called Aurora Bandits and Save the children." He said.

To be continued.
