Chapter 9 - chapter 8: silent corridor scream !

[Scene: France – Late Afternoon – Hospital Grounds]

The pharmacy across the hospital was unusually quiet. The cloudy sky hung low as if pressing down on the streets of Paris. Choen stepped out, clutching a small brown paper bag of medicine.

Choen (thinking):

"I hope this helps her rest better tonight…"

Her pace quickened as the wind picked up. The scent of antiseptic hit her nose as she entered through the hospital's rear side. She moved swiftly through the corridors—until she reached her teacher's room.

Her hand froze on the doorknob.

The bed was empty.

The IV drip was swaying slightly… and the window was cracked open.

Choen:

"Professor...? Gabrielle?!"

She dropped the bag.

Her shoes thudded against the floor as she ran out of the room, eyes scanning in all directions.

"Excuse me—have you seen the patient in Room 307?"

"No, mademoiselle. Not since morning."

No one had seen her.

Every turn Choen took felt heavier than the last. The corridor lights buzzed faintly. The nurses she'd seen earlier were missing too. The hospital was quiet. Unnaturally quiet.

Choen:

"Where is everyone…?"

And then—

A whisper.

Soft.

Close.

Right behind her ear.

Voice (male, familiar):

"Are you still searching, my little flower?"

She spun around. No one.

Her breath shortened.

Choen (to herself):

"That voice… it's him. It's impossible—he can't be here. I left all of that behind in France. I left him behind…"

She started running.

Down the corridor. Past room after room.

But something was wrong.

The corridor didn't end.

It just kept going.

Choen (panicking):

"What… where—?!"

Her footsteps echoed louder now. The lights flickered. Her vision blurred.

Then, without warning—

A television screen flickered into existence in front of her.

In the middle of the corridor.

Static buzzed. Then a shaky feed.

A hospital bed.

Gabrielle.

Tied down.

Eyes wide open.

Dead.

Choen (screaming):

"No!! NO!!"

Blood seeped from the corners of the screen. Her hands trembled as she backed away. Her knees gave in, and she fell to the cold floor, the sound of the monitor beeping turning to a flatline tone in her ears.

Choen (whispering, broken):

"This isn't real… this isn't… real…"

But the image didn't fade.

Gabrielle's lifeless body on the screen remained, frozen in time.

The scent returned again—his scent. Faint but suffocating.

She wasn't alone.

And the nightmare wasn't over.

she saw that Gabrielle is opening her eyes slowing but then suddenly .....!
