Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Satania’s Tragic Fate

For a moment, the entire Angel Café fell into silence. Everyone was stunned.

The one who had burst through the door had bright red hair, which was tied into twin tails. However, the ends of the twintails were looped and tied back, forming a ring-shaped braid.

Her eyes were also crimson, her facial features delicate but carrying a slightly dimwitted air.

Her name—Satanichia Kurumizawa Mcdowell. Like Vignette, she was a demon.

Satania stood frozen at the sight, her cheeks turning slightly red. Despite being a demon, she was still quite innocent.

"Satania, you successfully made little Gab lose her first kiss—NICE!"

That playful remark came from Raphiel, who winked mischievously and playfully bit her tongue while giving Satania a thumbs-up.

Meanwhile, Vignette, standing beside Raphiel, was just as pure-hearted. Her face flushed bright red, and she hurriedly covered her eyes with both hands, though the gaps between her fingers were far too wide to be convincing.

"Ahahaha—Didn't expect this, did you? The Great Demon Lord Satania was waiting at the door for this very opportunity~"

Basking in the praise, Satania lifted her chin like a triumphant goose, letting out a chūnibyō-style queenly laugh in three stages.

All this time, Gabriel had been Satania's sworn rival, someone she had been scheming against, trying countless times to make her embarrass herself, yet always failing. But this time, Gabriel had suffered the ultimate humiliation, and Satania was overjoyed.

As for her supposed ambush at the door? That was purely an accident. But of course, she would never admit that.

Satania was so happy she could ascend to heaven.

…Wait, no—going to heaven would be her death sentence!

"Mmmph~~" x2

Gabriel and Yazuki groaned simultaneously, pushing against each other with all their might. However, their lips remained firmly stuck together. The moment they had collided and their lips met, both had been inhaling, creating a vacuum-like suction effect—akin to two powerful suction cups being pressed together.

The sheer absurdity of the scene was enough to make anyone burst into laughter.

"Ahahahahahahahaha—!"

Sorry, someone was already rolling on the floor, clutching her stomach and laughing until tears streamed down her face. That someone was none other than the mastermind behind this catastrophe, Satania.

The next second—

"Ahahaha—huh?"

A chilling gaze made Satania's body tremble, instantly silencing her laughter.

Her eyes, still filled with tears from laughing too hard, now brimmed with a different kind of moisture—tears of fear.

Reflected in her crimson pupils were two figures, their eyes glowing red with murderous intent, glaring at her like vengeful ghosts.

"A-Ahh—Guh! Gack—!!"

A bloodcurdling scream rang out as Satania was pummeled by a flurry of kicks and punches.

Within moments, her once silly yet adorable face had swollen beyond recognition. If not for Vignette stepping in to rescue her, she might've actually ascended to heaven, permanently.

Later, with the help of Vignette and the café owner—

"Pop~"

With a simple yet forceful move, the two were finally separated.

For a brief moment, both Yazuki and Gabriel felt as if their lips had been torn apart, a stinging pain lingering.

"Pfft! Ptooey! Ughh!"

The two of them spat repeatedly, as if they had just tasted something disgusting.

"Hehehe… looks like there's only one way left, I have to silence you."

Gabriel's face contorted with madness, her expression twisted and ominous. She gripped a golden trumpet, which had somehow materialized in her hands, and muttered something chilling.

"No, no! Calm down, Gabriel!"

Vignette, her face pale, rushed forward to stop her.

"How could I possibly calm down? There's no other choice—I have to wipe them all out! Oh, and that includes Satania—everyone, every single one of them must be eliminated!!!"

Hearing her name called, Satania turned to look at Gabriel, who had now blackened beyond recognition, more demonic than any actual demon. Her body trembled violently.

The café owner, though clueless about the situation, also tried to intervene.

As for Raphiel? She simply watched, smiling, thoroughly entertained.

Meanwhile, Yazuki—seeing Gabriel clutching that golden trumpet—assumed she was about to use it to bash his skull in.

It looked quite sturdy. Probably tougher than his own skull. Was this some kind of battle-ax for violent lolis?

———

Later...

"Oww! That hurts—Raphiel, be gentle!"

Gabriel, having been calmed down, now sat there sulking while Raphiel applied ointment to her injuries.

"Waaah~ It hurts so much, Vignette~"

Satania, also receiving treatment, winced in pain as teardrops as large as peas rolled down her cheeks.

As for Yazuki, he casually applied some medicine to himself. Unlike these delicate girls, he could handle a bit of pain.

A little pain like this? Please. As a man, there was no way he couldn't endure it!

"Umm… Yazuki-kun? Are you sure you're okay? You're sweating a lot…"

That concerned voice belonged to the café owner, who noticed Yazuki's face drenched in sweat.

"I'm fine."

"Like hell you are!"

That exasperated yet gentle voice belonged to Vignette.

Before Yazuki could react, she had already undone the collar of his shirt, revealing blood-stained bandages.

The girl had sharp senses—she had noticed the thick scent of blood lingering on him.

Yazuki had initially intended to refuse any help, but something about Vignette's warm and angelic demeanor made it impossible for him to say no.

In the end, he reluctantly accepted her care as she gently replaced his bandages.

"There, all done. Please, don't act recklessly anymore."

Despite meeting for the first time and knowing nothing about him, she still worried for him with such genuine kindness.

"O-Oh…"

Yazuki found himself at a loss for words, dumbly nodding as he returned to his seat.

Picking up his digital tablet, he prepared to put it away. Of course, the screen had already been switched to the home page during his scuffle with Gabriel.

"Oh? Were you drawing just now?"

A soft, melodious voice, reminiscent of a songbird, rang near his ear.

Along with it came a gentle breath, tickling his skin and stirring something deep inside him.

From the corner of his eye, Yazuki saw a pair of pure, snow-white cheeks, delicate and smooth like freshly fallen snow.

He also saw a pair of large, shimmering amber eyes, and a few silver strands of hair had fallen onto his shoulder, carrying a faint fragrance of shampoo that tickled his brain.

More than that, he could feel something incredibly soft pressing against his arm.

A shiver ran up his spine.

Her name was Raphiel, right?

A pretty name.

With a serene smile, she looked just like a kind and gentle angel.

Her sudden intimacy made Yazuki feel strangely uneasy.

"Ahhh—"

"Uwahhh—"

"Uhh~"

The sounds that echoed weren't out of terror, but rather the kind of embarrassed shrieks one would make after witnessing something overwhelmingly shameful.

At that moment, Yazuki snapped back to his senses and looked at his digital screen, only to see the entire display filled with an assortment of zoomed-in images that could make anyone blush and send their heart racing.

The three girls who had screamed each had different reactions.

Vignette had turned completely red, steam practically rising from her head as she frantically covered her eyes with both hands and turned away.

Satania—who had been on the receiving end of his "lessons" before—was biting her fingers, her face just as red as a boiled octopus, her eyes shaking wildly as if she was on the verge of fainting from embarrassment.

And lastly, the girl who had just been so close to him—Raphiel—was looking at him with an expression of utter disbelief, as if to say, "You're that kind of person?" She even took a few steps back in fear.

This woman… something's off! Is she messing with me?
