"Hey, Zaren, what are we going to do?" Corvin asked.
Before Corvin could do anything, Zaren suddenly came from behind and punched him. Corvin blocked the punch, but the force threw him backward. He hit a tree and fell to the ground.
Zaren said firmly, "You are not prepared!"
With a panicked voice, Corvin shouted, "Hey bro, are you mad or something?"
Zaren replied, "No, it's part of our training."
(He held back so that Corvin would become stronger by training with him.)
Then Zaren asked, "Did you see your rank? What is your rank?"
Corvin replied, "No, I haven't seen my rank yet."
Zaren asked, "Did your father allow you to become a hunter?"
Corvin answered, "Yes, of course he did. He thinks I am strong enough, but sometimes he fears. I want to become a hunter to give my father a comfortable life. That is why I am doing this."
Zaren smiled and said, "Then face these attacks to become powerful!"
Suddenly, Zaren came from behind Corvin again. But this time, Corvin punched him in a flash and Zaren was thrown away. Yet, Zaren slowed himself down and got back to the ground carefully. In a single second, Corvin was right in front of him, and then Zaren shouted, "Flame Sword!"
In a burst of blue light, a blue flame sword appeared in Zaren's hand. Corvin was shocked. In the same flash of blue light, Corvin was knocked out. Then the sword in Zaren's hand vanished.
Corvin, still on the ground and injured but not too badly, shouted, "How did you do that?" He then stood up and smiled, "Hey dude, you haven't even said your rank. What's your rank, huh?"
Zaren thought, Oh no, now what am I going to do? After a few seconds, Corvin shouted, "Hey dude, what's your rank?"
Zaren replied, "Actually, Corvin, I am an SS Rank."
Corvin got shocked. In his mind he thought, What the hell? You are SS Rank—powerful and able to earn a lot—so why are you training me? Are you taking this training lightly? Am I that annoying to you?
Then Corvin shouted, "Hey, if you are SS Rank, then why are you training me? Are you making fun of me?"
Zaren tried to explain, "Actually, Corvin, you see…" But before he could finish, Corvin stepped in front of him and punched him very hard. The punch was so strong that the ground cracked and Zaren was thrown away.
When Zaren was thrown and couldn't move, Corvin in a flash punched him again in the stomach. Zaren fell to the ground with a force that cracked the earth. As Corvin was about to punch again, Zaren got behind him and delivered a single slap on his neck. Corvin fell unconscious.
When Corvin woke up, it was afternoon. Zaren was with him on a forest mountain, and the scene was very beautiful. Corvin stood up and said, "Hey Zaren, why are you training me? I am nothing like you. You are powerful and you are SS Rank, so why are you training me?"
Zaren smiled and replied, "Actually, bro, you see—I was alone my whole life. Every day I woke up feeling empty because I had no friends. Then I came to your shop and thought maybe you could be my friend. I wanted someone to train with, someone who understands me."
Corvin listened, then said, "I guess we can become friends. By the way, why don't we join a guild tomorrow?"
Zaren laughed and teased, "You are too much, loser. You got knocked out by my one slap!"
Corvin laughed, and both of them laughed together.
