Chapter 3 - I, Jason, Don’t Want to Encounter a God!

One day—

Outside, the rain drizzled softly. Inside, the wise centaur, Chiron, was bestowing upon Jason the most precious thing in the world—knowledge!

"...And so, the great King of Gods, Zeus, overthrew the tyrannical god of destruction, Cronus, and became the new ruler of the gods!

From that day on, Zeus's elder brother, Poseidon, took control of the seas and became the Lord of the Oceans.

Hades took dominion over the Underworld, becoming its ruler.

As time passed, the great gods ascended to their divine thrones, and among the many rulers, the most supreme were the Twelve Olympians:

The King of Gods, Zeus; the Lord of the Seas, Poseidon; the Ruler of the Underworld, Hades; the Goddess of Wisdom, Athena; the God of Light, Apollo; the Goddess of the Hunt, Artemis... and Hermes, the Messenger of the Gods!"

As Chiron spoke, Jason listened intently.

In his past life, as someone who had transmigrated to this world, he would have had no interest in these so-called gods.

But now, having been reborn as Jason, he understood—these gods were real in this world!

They weren't just distant figures atop Mount Olympus.

In fact, among his senior and junior disciples, some even carried divine blood!

"Hm... Teacher Chiron, aside from the great gods you just mentioned, are there any other deities I should pay special attention to?"

Jason asked seriously, then added with a straight face:

"I'd like some guidance from you, Teacher Chiron... so that if I ever run into one, I'll know to run faster!"

Chiron fell silent, staring at Jason.

At that moment, he understood why Jason had come to him seeking knowledge about the gods today.

When Jason first approached him, Chiron had been pleased, thinking his student had finally taken an interest in divine wisdom.

But now, it was clear—Jason was just preparing to run in case he accidentally encountered a god!

"You don't need to worry. Encounters with gods aren't so common… Besides, for most people, meeting the god they worship would be an incredible honor," Chiron said, unable to hold back a sigh.

"An honor, huh…" Jason curled his lips.

Yeah, right.

With the reputation of these Greek gods, it was best to stay as far away as possible!

Chiron didn't know exactly what Jason was thinking, but after spending time together, he could tell Jason hadn't taken his words to heart at all.

That gave him a headache.

After a brief moment of hesitation, Chiron finally spoke:

"If I were to name a particularly unique deity… it would be Hecate, the Goddess of Opportunity."

"Hecate, the Goddess of Opportunity?" Jason blinked.

Chiron nodded. "She is an exceptionally special goddess. She does not belong to the domains of the sky, the earth, the sea, or the underworld, yet she holds great influence in all of them.

Even the mighty King of Gods, Zeus, respects her, and the Lord of the Underworld, Hades, treats her with courtesy."

"She's that powerful?" Jason's eyes widened. Then, with a serious nod, he declared, "If I ever run into her, I'll make sure to run even faster!"

"Don't worry. Lady Hecate is different from other gods—she is devoted to research and the pursuit of the unknown, so she rarely leaves her temple. However..."

"However?" Jason looked at Chiron with curiosity.

"She has two disciples. And one of them..."

Chiron hesitated for a long moment, gazing at Jason, but in the end, he chose not to finish his sentence. He simply shook his head and told Jason not to concern himself with it.

It was clear—Chiron knew something.

More precisely, he had glimpsed a piece of Jason's 'original' future.

That wasn't surprising, given that Chiron's true identity was far from ordinary.

Jason had resolved to stay far away from the gods in this life.

But what he didn't know was that the centaur sage before him—Chiron—was, in fact, a god himself.

He simply had no divine throne.

Yet his lineage was extraordinarily noble.

The blood flowing through his veins was the same as that of Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon!

That's right—Chiron was actually the illegitimate son of the second-generation King of Gods, the father of Zeus and his brothers.

He was a true god, born of the goddess Philyra.

Very few knew this truth.

Even Jason, a transmigrator, only knew Chiron as the wise centaur and mentor of many heroes—nothing more.

And why had Chiron brought up Hecate when Jason expressed his determination to flee from the gods?

Because Hecate had two disciples.

One was Circe, the Witch of Temptation and Corruption.

And the other was Medea—the Witch of Betrayal in the future…

The Underworld, Hecate's Temple

"Hm? It feels like... someone is talking about me?"

Inside a room cluttered with strange objects, a beautiful goddess with black hair and crimson eyes, wearing a brown robe, suddenly paused her experiment.

"And… it seems to be someone with rather noble blood."

Hecate pondered for a moment, then stopped her work to concentrate.

"…Chiron? Him?"

The moment she identified the source, a flicker of surprise flashed in her eyes.

Very few knew Chiron's true identity.

But as a fellow deity born from the second generation of the Titans, and as the Goddess of Opportunity, Hecate naturally knew.

"Why is he bringing me up…? Jason? Wait, why does that name sound… familiar?"

She tilted her head slightly, deep in thought. Just as she was about to find the answer—

Knock, knock—

"Teacher, may I come in? I've found what you asked for."

A girl's voice came from outside.

"Come in, Medea."

With that, the door gently opened, and a young girl—around ten years old, with silver-purple hair tied in a side ponytail—stepped into the room. Her delicate features radiated innocence and charm.

Hecate looked at her for a moment, then suddenly exclaimed in realization.

"Oh! I remember now… I finally remember who Jason is!"

For someone like Hecate, it was easy to glimpse the future, especially that of a mortal.

And clearly, if it weren't for today's conversation, she—who was fully immersed in research—would have completely forgotten about it!

"Teacher?" Medea blinked in confusion at Hecate's sudden reaction.

"Hm… It's nothing. No big deal."

Hecate thought for a moment, then said, "Medea, I'll be leaving for a short trip in a few days."

"You're leaving?" Medea was startled.

After all, ever since she had arrived, she had almost never seen Hecate leave the temple.

"Yes. Just to take care of… a small matter."
