Chapter 9 - Gun (I)

Guu's eyes widened in shock as Scott suddenly closed the distance between them, his fist crashing into Guu's unprotected left kidney with a loud "Whack!"

"Ack!"

Guu grunted in pain, his body shuddering as he struggled to process the blow. His legs refused to move, as if rooted to the spot, as he tried to catch his breath.

Scott, on the other hand, was ecstatic. "It worked!" he exclaimed, his body dripping with sweat as he tried to compose himself. Despite his visibly shaking body, Scott's face was set in a wide grin as he stared at Guu with a sense of triumph.

Guu's body slumped to the floor, his eyes fixed on Scott with a mixture of shock and confusion. He spat out a mouthful of blood, the metallic taste lingering on his lips.

"How?" Guu managed to croak, his voice barely above a whisper. He couldn't comprehend how Scott had turned the tables so suddenly. Just moments before, Guu had been dominating the fight, his speed and agility leaving Scott struggling to keep up.

But in just two steps, Scott had closed the distance and delivered a single, devastating punch that had left Guu crippled and helpless. Guu's mind reeled as he tried to process what had just happened.

Scott's earlier struggles hadn't been due to a lack of skill, Guu realized. Instead, Scott had been waiting for the perfect moment to strike, using a skill he had honed through countless battles with Shinsei. The technique was still unmastered, but its potential was undeniable.

Scott had dodged Guu's last attack, raising his right leg and stepping back. Almost immediately, he stepped his toes lightly on the floor and bolted forward with incredible speed. Guu had managed to react, setting up his arms and stepping back further. Then, with a precise step of his right leg, Scott controlled his speed and guided himself towards Guu's opening, rendering him useless.

He called this technique Ryūjin no Ikizama, or "Dragon God's Swift Strike."

As Guu lay on the ground, wincing in pain with every slight movement, he gazed up at the afternoon sky with a mix of defeat and resignation. "Haa... I lost..." he thought to himself.

Scott's voice broke the silence, accompanied by a wide grin. "Yeah, and you're joining the gang."

Guu let out a deep sigh, his eyes still fixed on the sky. "Are you the leader?" he asked, his voice laced with a hint of curiosity.

Scott shook his head honestly. "I'm just No.9."

Guu's eyes widened in surprise, his gaze snapping back to Scott. 'Just No.9? How strong is their leader, then?' he thought inwardly, his mind racing with the implications.

Scott's laughter echoed through the air as he noticed the expression on Guu's face. "You're not even a percentage of his power," he said, his words dripping with amusement.

Guu's face twisted in a mix of anger and humiliation, but he bit his lip, choosing not to respond. The insult hung in the air, a challenge to Guu's pride and a testament to the overwhelming power of the gang's leader.

"I guess I'll join..." Guu mumbled, prompting smiles from Scott and Jin.

"Welcome to Ryūjin-kai!" Scott exclaimed, stretching out his arm to help Guu up.

Meanwhile, in a nearby park-like area, Shinsei and Johan chatted, Shinsei chuckling carefreely. Suddenly, a suited man approached, causing Johan's eyes to widen in fear. Shinsei raised an eyebrow, wondering inwardly, "Why is he so scared of that person?"

The man greeted Johan calmly, "Hello Johan Seong, long time no see." Johan couldn't reply his eyes widened in fear as though seeing a ghost.

Noticing Johan's silence, Shinsei stepped in, "Uhm, can we help you?" he asked, his tone friendly.

The suited man turned to Shinsei, "And you are?" he inquired.

Shinsei replied promptly, "His boss."

The man's face froze in shock, his eyes hidden behind glasses but undoubtedly wide with surprise.

"His boss?" The man repeated, his tone laced with skepticism. He then smiled and extended his hand. "Oh, I seem to understand now. You're Shinsei, the new leader of Gangbuk, aren't you?" The man questioned, his smile growing wider. Shinsei chuckled, "I didn't know I was popular."

Gun's smile grew wider as he seemed to enjoy Shinsei's response. "Well, you're not popular, per se," Gun clarified, his tone dripping with amusement. "Let's just say you're... infamous."

As Shinsei spoke, Johan's anxiety spiked, sensing the escalating tension. "All the same, isn't it?" Shinsei's words hung in the air, followed by Gun's low, menacing chuckle. He calmly removed his glasses, his eyes locking onto Shinsei. "I was here for Johan's payment, but it seems you'll be covering his debts now that you've taken over Gangbuk." Johan's fear intensified, aware he was caught in the middle of a potentially volatile situation.

Upon seeing his unusual pitch black eyes which were like his Shinsei was preplexed and Gun noticed it, "Seen a Ghost?" Gun taunted as he stared at the sunglasses Shinsei wore unable to see his eyes.

After a few moments Shinsei then replied, "Nah, you just reminded me of a retarded piece of shit I once knew" He said with a chuckle making Gun smile eerily.

Almost immediately Gun disappeared from where he stood and appeared in front of Shinsei his fist threatening to hit his face but then it pass through Shinsei face like he was a ghost.

"Huh?" Gun said preplexed as he stared in confusion, "Too slow" Shinsei said behind Gun with a teasing smile making Gun's face widen in amusement.

'How?' Gun questioned inwardly as a smile grew on his face staring at Shinsei with intrest.
