Yipin Xuan is a famous restaurant in G City with an elegant atmosphere!
As Wen Ran and Mo Xiuchen reached the second floor, they heard a familiar commotion coming from a window-side table on the right. Following the sound, Wen Ran saw a woman in a red dress angrily standing up from her chair and launching an attack at another woman at the table. "Bai Xiaoxiao, how dare you splash water on me! Today, I'll settle it with you!" the red-dressed woman shouted.
Bai Xiaoxiao responded with a cold laugh. As the red-dressed woman lunged forward, Bai Xiaoxiao stepped back. At that moment, Zhou Lin's foot tripped over a chair behind her, causing her to lose balance and fall clumsily to the floor.
Giggling, Bai Xiaoxiao looked down at Zhou Lin sprawled at her feet and mockingly called out, "Oh, Zhou Lin, are you kneeling in apology? I simply can't bear it. If you want to repent, you should go find Ranran!"
"Should I go over there?"
Mo Xiuchen glanced at the chaotic scene by the window, then turned his gaze back to Wen Ran and asked,
"Do you want me to intervene?"
Wen Ran frowned. It seemed that no matter where she went, she'd run into Mo Zixuan.
Watching Zhou Lin lying on the floor in complete disarray while Mo Zixuan sat unmoved at his table, his expression laced with disdain instead of concern, Wen Ran felt a twinge of satisfaction.
"Bai Xiaoxiao!"
Zhou Lin, utterly humiliated by her fall, glared bitterly at Bai Xiaoxiao. Refusing even to get up, she reached out to grab Bai Xiaoxiao's leg, as if to force her to experience the same disgrace.
"Tch!"
Bai Xiaoxiao deftly jumped aside. When she looked up, she caught sight of Wen Ran standing at a distance by the glass column. With a raised eyebrow and a mocking smile, she jeered, "Zhou Lin, why don't you just lie there and play on the floor? I'm leaving first, alright?"
With that, she turned and walked away.
In that moment when Bai Xiaoxiao turned to leave, Mo Zixuan noticed Wen Ran and Mo Xiuchen walking from afar. His eyes suddenly darkened. Then, casting another disdainful glance at Zhou Lin—who lay on the floor in utter disarray—he snorted in disgust and got up to leave.
"Zixuan!"
Hearing Mo Zixuan's departure, Zhou Lin's face changed in panic, and she scrambled to her feet while calling after him.
"Ranran, if you had come a little earlier, you would have seen the whole spectacle," Bai Xiaoxiao called out excitedly as she quickly approached Wen Ran. Grabbing her hand, she said, "Come on," then turned her attention to the man standing next to Wen Ran and introduced herself boldly, "Young Master Mo, hello, I'm Bai Xiaoxiao, a good friend of Ranran's."
Mo Xiuchen, having caught a glimpse of her nimble evasion of Zhou Lin earlier, nodded slightly and replied coolly, "Hello, Miss Bai."
Wen Ran glanced around the second floor and asked with concern, "Xiaoxiao, who did you come with? What exactly happened just now?"
Bai Xiaoxiao's eyes flashed with a hint of mischief as she smiled evasively and explained, "I was supposed to meet someone, but I got stood up. Then that woman overheard me on the phone—and she had the nerve to mock me."
She was fuming inside; it was that lowly Zhou Lin who had practically delivered her own comeuppance. Her mood lightened as she entertained the incident.
Nearby, Mo Zixuan passed by silently. His eyes darkly met Wen Ran's for a moment—perhaps still irked by Zhou Lin's humiliation—before he quickly departed without a word.
As Zhou Lin followed behind, chasing after Wen Ran, her eyes flashed with bitter resentment. Then, switching to a look of feigned apology, she softly called out, "Ranran!"
"Ranran, you haven't even hosted a wedding banquet yet, and here we are. You two have to treat me to dinner," Bai Xiaoxiao's voice tried to mask Zhou Lin's words as she tugged Wen Ran along. Looking up at Mo Xiuchen, Wen Ran heard him casually reply, "No problem!"
