Chapter 14 - chapter 14: The plan

Rory's mind was racing as she considered Sophia's offer. Could she really trust her?

"What makes you think you can help us?" Rory asked, her voice cautious.

Sophia's expression was determined. "I have access to Julian's inner circle," she said. "I can get you information, and I can help you gather allies."

Rory's eyes narrowed. This sounded too good to be true.

"What do you want in return?" Rory asked.

Sophia's smile was small. "I want to be free," she said. "I want to be able to live my life without fear of Julian's wrath."

Rory's heart went out to Sophia. She knew what it was like to live in fear.

"Okay," Rory said. "We can help you. But we need to be careful. Julian's not going to give up easily."

Sophia nodded. "I know. But I'm willing to take that risk."

Rory's phone buzzed again. She glanced down to see a text from Ethan.

"We need to get moving," he said. "We've got a lead on Julian's location."

Rory's heart skipped a beat. This was it. This was their chance to take down Julian.

"Let's go," Rory said, standing up.

Sophia nodded, standing up beside her.

Together, they walked out of the coffee shop, ready to face whatever lay ahead.

As they walked, Rory's mind was racing with possibilities. What would they find when they got to Julian's location? Would they be able to take him down?

She glanced over at Sophia, who was walking beside her.

Maybe, just maybe, they had a chance.

Rory, Sophia, and Ethan made their way to the location, their hearts racing with anticipation.

As they approached the building, Rory could feel the tension in the air. This was it. This was their chance to take down Julian.

Ethan nodded to Rory and Sophia. "Ready?" he asked.

Rory nodded, her eyes locked onto the building. "Let's do this."

Sophia nodded, her expression determined.

The three of them moved stealthily towards the building, their senses on high alert.

As they entered the building, Rory could hear the sound of voices coming from upstairs.

Julian's voice.

Rory's heart skipped a beat. They were getting close.

Ethan nodded to Rory and Sophia. "Stay here," he whispered. "I'll go check it out."

Rory nodded, her eyes locked onto Ethan's. "Be careful."

Ethan smiled, his eyes sparkling with determination. "Always."

As Ethan crept upstairs, Rory and Sophia waited in silence, their hearts racing with anticipation.

What would they find upstairs?

Would they be able to take down Julian?

The minutes ticked by, feeling like hours.

Then, suddenly, Rory heard a noise coming from upstairs.

A loud crash.

Followed by the sound of footsteps.

Rory's heart skipped a beat. What was happening?

Rory's heart was racing as she heard the noise coming from upstairs. She looked at Sophia, who was watching her with a concerned expression.

"What was that?" Sophia whispered.

Rory shook her head. "I don't know, but I think we should go check it out."

Sophia nodded, and together they crept upstairs, their senses on high alert.

As they reached the top of the stairs, Rory saw Ethan standing in the doorway of a room, his eyes locked onto something inside.

"What is it?" Rory whispered, her heart racing with anticipation.

Ethan turned to her, his expression grim. "It's Julian," he said. "And he's not alone."

Rory's heart skipped a beat. Who was Julian with?

She stepped forward, her eyes locked onto the room.

As she entered the room, Rory saw Julian standing by a window, a smug expression on his face.

And beside him, tied to a chair, was Marcus.

Rory's heart sank. Marcus was supposed to be watching the perimeter, not getting caught.

"Well, well, well," Julian said, his eyes locked onto Rory. "Look what we have here."

Rory's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with possibilities.

How had Julian caught Marcus?

And what did he plan to do with him?
