As soon as the light returned to normal, and the echo calmed down, Cain broke the silence in a dry tone saturated with anxiety:
"Enough... the voices will attract them. We have revealed our matter."
He looked at William, his face no longer carrying any expression.
"We have to get out of here and finish the plan."
But William didn't move. His eyes were immersed in silence that did not look like calm, but rather like a quiet boil before the explosion.
He said in a low voice, but broke through the walls like a stab:
"The plan is over."
Then he raised his head, his eyes glowing.
"Now... I'm going to destroy them all."
Cain and Jane exchanged a quick glance. It wasn't William they knew. But he did not wait for approval, but turned away from them, and began to walk towards the corridors leading inward.
"Go... free the kids." He said without turning attention.
"As for those who remain here, they will not leave alive."
Cain nodded to Jane, and they ran towards the cells.
⸻
In the direction of the cells
Caen and Jane quickly reached the main cell, a few guards blocking their way, but the fighting was a snap.
Cain stabbed one in the neck before screaming, while Jane threw her dagger in the other's chest with deadly precision.
"Open the doors!" Jane shouted as she looked for the keys.
The children were in a miserable state, some collapsed crying, others showed no reaction... only dead eyes in small faces.
Cain released the lock and took them out one by one.
"Come on, outside... follow us. We'll get you out of hell."
⸻
And in the middle of the hideout... Hell has opened its mouth
William turned into a hurricane of destruction.
Everyone who confronted him, whether with a sword, with an arrow, or even with a word... did not complete his movement. He was walking without hesitation, and everyone standing in front of him was falling... dead.
His right arm was shining with a red flash, and the blood covered his clothes but it was not his blood.
He wasn't just fighting...
He was carrying out a death sentence.
Men scream, beg, try to escape... but he was everywhere.
The walls were filled with traces of swords and blood, the earth was covered with flesh and stained rags, and the air became heavy... as if the horror itself had suffocated from the horror of what was happening.
Then... the leader appeared.
A huge man, wearing a black shield decorated with phoenix symbols, and a flazing tattoo covering half of his face. He advanced with a steady pace, his sword on his back, and his fiery aura burning around him.
"You... are you the reason for all this?!" The boss shouted, pulling out his heavy sword.
But William didn't answer.
Just look at him... one look.
The battle began.
The leader attacked first, his blows broke the ground, the walls cracked, his voice sounded, but he did not approach William.
Whenever he tried to touch him, he found himself dragging back with an inseeable force, and every blow from William was a judge.
In moments, his weapon broke down, his defense broke, and finally... he fell to his knees, immersed in helplessness, and then... he lost consciousness.
His men, who remained around him, were slaughtered one after another. Without mercy, without a word.
Blood shed at every corner, the earth was no longer seen, the walls became black because of how much they were stained, and the roof was dripping blood.
The place was a silent massacre...
As if screaming is no longer allowed.
When it was all over, William stood in the middle of the bodies, carrying the leader's body over his shoulder, and his eyes were still radiant.
The place has become an open grave...
But only the leader's body came out alive,
As for his soul... I stayed there, hanging between blood and regret.
