Chapter 10 - Miss Bai, You Don't Want Others To Know About These Things, Do You?

In a private room, Jiang Che met Ye Meigui in person. She was wearing a fiery red traditional Chinese dress, with nude-colored stockings wrapped around her legs and high heels on her feet. Light makeup adorned her face, and her flaming red lips were captivating. Her gaze was alluring, carrying an infinite charm. She looked like a celestial beauty.

"You may leave now," Bai Huamei waved her hand, instructing the manager and the others to exit immediately.

"Mr. Jiang, correct?" Bai Huamei asked. "Is there something you want from me?"

As Jiang Che observed Bai Huamei, she was also sizing him up. She hadn't expected this man to be so handsome.

Bai Huamei muttered in her heart. She had been in this line of work for years and had seen all kinds of people, but it was rare to come across someone as striking as Jiang Che.

"Of course, I have something to discuss with Miss Bai," Jiang Che replied with a smile, sitting directly on the sofa opposite Bai Huamei.

"Mr. Jiang, please speak openly," she said.

"Miss Bai, please take a look at these documents first," Jiang Che said, wasting no time as he handed over the documents he had brought.

Bai Huamei shot him a suspicious glance before picking up the papers from the table. As she read through them, her expression darkened.

These documents were her Achilles' heel. If they were made public, she would be in serious trouble.

"So, Mr. Jiang, are you here to threaten me?" Bai Huamei put the documents down, her expression cold, her eyes flashing with murderous intent. Since Jiang Che had boldly presented these documents, his intentions were obvious. This was a blatant threat.

She didn't know how Jiang Che had obtained these files, but one thing was certain—she couldn't allow anyone to hold her secrets over her head.

"How can this be considered a threat?" Jiang Che said, still smiling calmly. "I'm merely here to discuss a business deal with Miss Bai."

Despite Bai Huamei's obvious hostility, Jiang Che remained unfazed.

"A business deal?" Bai Huamei sneered and pulled a pistol from the desk drawer. She loaded the gun and aimed the pitch-black muzzle directly at Jiang Che.

"Mr. Jiang, didn't you inquire about me before coming here?" she asked coldly. "I, Ye Meigui, have never liked being threatened."

"Are you not afraid that you might not leave this place alive?" Bai Huamei narrowed her eyes, expecting to see fear on Jiang Che's face. But to her disappointment, he remained completely calm.

"Since I dared to come alone, does Miss Bai really think I have no backup plan?"

Jiang Che glanced at Bai Huamei, then casually picked up the decanter on the table and poured himself a glass of red wine, treating the gun in Bai Huamei's hand as if it were nothing more than a toy.

With his cultivation strength, Jiang Che could act before Bai Huamei even pulled the trigger. That was his confidence—he didn't take her threat seriously at all.

"Then let's test that theory," Bai Huamei said, a crazed glint flashing in her eyes as she prepared to pull the trigger.

At that very moment, Jiang Che moved.

In an instant, he sprang from the sofa and snatched the gun from Bai Huamei's hand before she could react. By the time she even registered what had happened, the gun was already gone.

Everything happened in the blink of an eye. Bai Huamei barely caught a glimpse of Jiang Che's movement before he was seated back on the sofa, spinning the pistol in his hand like a toy.

Her pupils contracted in shock. That kind of speed was beyond human capability!

This man was definitely a master of ancient martial arts!

Though Bai Huamei herself had no martial arts training, she knew a thing or two about these legendary warriors. She never expected to encounter one today. No wonder Jiang Che had been so confident.

"Miss Bai, you're very beautiful," Jiang Che mused. "I wonder… what would happen if this bullet disfigured your face?"

He pointed the gun at Bai Huamei's face as if contemplating the thought.

"If you dare attack me, you'll never leave this place alive," Bai Huamei retorted.

Jiang Che's threat didn't faze her in the slightest. This wasn't the first time she'd had a gun pointed at her, and she had long since lost any fear of death. In her line of work, enemies were inevitable, and the risk of sudden death was part of the game.

"Miss Bai, you misunderstand me," Jiang Che said with a smile. "I'm just a businessman. I have no interest in violence."

"I'm here today for an honest discussion about cooperation."

"Cooperation?" Bai Huamei scoffed.

What nonsense! Jiang Che had leverage over her, and now he was calling it a "cooperation"? This was nothing more than blackmail!

"If Miss Bai is unwilling to cooperate, then I have no choice but to visit the detention center and have a conversation with Director Wang," Jiang Che said, standing up as if preparing to leave.

"I'm sure he'd find these documents quite interesting."

"Wait!" Bai Huamei called out, stopping him immediately.

She couldn't let this man go to the authorities. Even if she had a defense prepared, explaining things wouldn't be easy.

"Fine," she said, taking a deep breath to suppress the fury within her. "Tell me—what exactly do you want?"

Originally, Bai Huamei had assumed Jiang Che came to her for help hiring a killer. After all, people like Jiang Che, who operated in business circles, always had enemies.

But now, it was clear—this wasn't about hiring a killer.

He had come for her.

What a miscalculation.
