Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: GG Are Dead!

Nineteen days had passed since Mark's brawl with Killcannon, where I'd stepped in and shown him how to handle it quick and clean with Red—smashing the cannon, no fuss, no extra mess.

I'd hoped he'd pick up the trick—focus the hit, skip the chaos—but it seemed to sail right over his head. Or maybe he just couldn't pull it off that fast without wrecking something on the side because of his viltrumite strength on some opponent.

It wasn't just him, though. I'd been watching the Teen Team and other heroes around the city, and they all had the same habit: punch first, think later. Buildings cracked, streets torn up, cars flipped—it was like collateral damage was part of the job description.

'Guess precision's my thing, not theirs,' I thought, as I was in my small apartment, keeping an eye on things through the news channel.

Mark—Invincible now—had been training hard with the Teen Team and his dad, Omni-Man, over those 19 days. He was getting better at flying, stronger with his punches, but that excitement still showed he understood it better at flaxans invasion where he got the reality taste for the first time.

Of course he hasn't joined the Team Teen, probably wanted to be like his dad solo one, but helping other teams if they ever need help, and his schools and exams things. So, he only like… comes when there is a need for his strength or something, and Eve and him become somewhat friends too as they go to the same school and attend some classes together.

Every fight, he'd slam into something—a wall, a truck, whatever—before he got the bad guy down.

Either way, the city's repair crews were probably cursing his name for their workload by now or praising him for so much work as to get contracts for city building repairs or something.

As I watched the news channel, a headline which frequently comes "Omni Man saves the amusement park from a big monster," It wasn't a love news but rather a recorded and then my mind drifted to the bigger picture—Omni-Man and the Guardians of the Globe.

In the show and comics, there's no clear countdown to that day. It just happens—one minute, everything's fine; the next, Omni-Man's calling the Guardians to their base and wiping them out, one by one, in a bloody mess.

No warning, no exact timeline, just a sudden skip to the carnage. I didn't know how many days I had left—could be tomorrow, could be weeks.

I was sprawled out in my small secret apartment—a cramped little spot I'd claimed in the city, tucked away from prying eyes—flipping through news channels on a beat-up TV.

The screen flickered between weather reports and some talking head droning about a new hero sighting, but nothing caught my interest.

I was halfway through a bag of gummies, tossing one in my mouth, when my phone buzzed. A message from Robot popped up: "Come to the base." No details, no explanation—just that. I frowned, chewing slowly.

I'd watched the show, read the comics, but this didn't ring any bells. Probably some cut scene or behind-the-scenes moment that didn't make the final edit. Weird, I thought, tossing the remote aside.

With a sigh, I stood up, stretched, and muttered, "Fine, fine, let's see what's up." No point dragging my feet—I teleported straight to the Teen Team's base, popping into existence with a faint whoosh.

The place was quiet when I arrived, just Robot standing there, hands clasped behind his back like some military commander waiting for his troops.

His glowing eyes flicked to me, but he didn't say anything yet. I could tell the others weren't here—Eve, Rex, Dupli-Kate and Mark, all still on their way.

Shrugging, I flopped onto the worn-out couch in the corner, legs kicked up, arms behind my head.

"So, what's the big news, Robot?" I asked, grinning lazily. "You drag me outta my candy binge for something juicy, or what?"

Robot turned his head slightly, his voice calm and even, like always. "Please wait a few minutes, Gojo. It will be better if everyone hears this together." No hints, no rush—just that steady, clipped tone he always used, not quite robotic but close enough. I rolled my eyes, sinking deeper into the couch.

"Great… suspense is it? My favorite," I muttered, popping another gummy from my pocket into my mouth. Whatever it was, it'd better be good—I wasn't in the mood for boring.

After lounging on the couch for about 10 or 20 minutes, tossing some gummies into my mouth which were in my pants pocket and half-watching the ceiling, the base's entrance finally hissed open.

Rex, Atom Eve, and Dupli-Kate walked in together, their voices overlapping—Rex griping about something, Eve shushing him, Dupli-Kate laughing.

I glanced over, expecting to see Mark trailing behind in his Invincible getup, but he wasn't there. Robot straightened up as they approached, ready to start, but I held up a hand, cutting him off before he could speak.

"Hang on, Robot—where's Invincible? Shouldn't he be here for this?"

Robot turned his head toward me, his glowing green eyes steady. "Invincible is unavailable. He had some personal family matters and could not attend." His tone was flat, no judgment, just fact.

I sat straight back, as my brain clicked into gear. Family matters, huh? Nineteen days since Killcannon, and now this—my gut told me it was the day. Omni-Man's big move. I didn't know the exact timing from the show, but the pieces fit too well for this situation.

Robot didn't wait for me to say more. He stepped forward, facing the team—Rex slouched against a table, Eve standing close to him, Dupli-Kate fidgeting with her hands.

"Attention," Robot began, his voice even but carrying weight. "I have received critical information from the Global Defense Agency. The Guardians of the Globe have been killed. Omni-Man is the sole survivor, severely injured, and is currently receiving treatment at a GDA medical facility."

The room went dead silent, like someone had sucked the air out. I stayed quiet, popping another gummy in my mouth, my face blank.

I'd seen this coming—knew Omni-Man would slaughter the Guardians eventually—but I hadn't pegged it for today.

I'd been flipping channels, thinking about it just hours ago, and now here it was. The timing threw me, but I didn't let it show. Rex, though, snapped first.

"Bullshit!" he shouted, slamming a fist on the table. "No way! Earth's strongest heroes—gone? You're telling me they're all dead? That's impossible!"

Dupli-Kate's eyes were wide, her voice shaky. "Killed? All of them? I… I can't even— If this is true, what happens now? What do we do?" She hugged herself, like she was trying to hold it together. Eve, usually the calm one, looked pale, her hands trembling slightly. "How?" she asked, her voice quiet but thick with dread. "How did this happen, Robot?"

Robot didn't flinch, his tone steady as ever. "Their bodies were discovered at the Guardians' headquarters. Evidence indicates a brutal and powerful attack—consistent with extreme force and precision. Omni-Man was found among them, critically wounded but alive. The GDA is investigating."

Rex paced, fuming. "This doesn't add up! How does something take out the whole team? Red Rush? Immortal? War Woman? And Omni-Man's the only one left? There's gotta be a mistake—someone screwed up the report!" He kicked a chair, sending it skidding. Dupli-Kate shook her head, still processing.

"If it's not a mistake… then what?" Eve gripped Rex's arm somewhat tight, but her eyes stayed on Robot. "Who could even do this?" she murmured, almost to herself.

I sat straight on the couch, silent, letting others speak as they said whatever they had on their mind. I knew the truth—Omni-Man wasn't some wounded survivor; he'd done it himself, torn through his teammates like paper.

Right now, he was probably lying in a GDA med bay, playing the part, bandages wrapped around some injuries he suffered from Guardians of the globe while Mark, his son and Debbie, his wife sat by his side, worried sick.

Cecil would be there too, sharp as ever, piecing it together—maybe suspecting Omni-Man already, tossing around theories that sounded crazy but weren't far off.

A/N: Just as I had said I'm not not that creative person, so the story will follow the plot as gojo would change something like some deaths, dealing with some monsters, becoming a member of the GG and that too someone far more capable, who completely handle any problem, monster or villain faster with not so much damage or no damage at all.

As gojo is a arrogant, self centric egoistic person, black samson wouldn't like him too much or many other people, gojo would clear villain and monster threat too fast and that too alone sometimes which will incite some problems from the team as they will raise that he doesnt do it in team or whatever.

But i will follow mostly the plot of the show, and maybe just maybe change something if i think it is good.

Well comment and send some stones if you like this chapter.
