Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: A Game of Hell, A Brother

The people I want to kill are as numerous as a mountain!

These damn commoners are truly irritating. I haven't gone looking for them, yet instead of showing gratitude, they buzz around my ears like flies. It's disgusting.

"Kill him! Kill him! We can't let him go this time! All Celestial Dragons are evil! They're the reason we're like this!"

The surrounding citizens, outwardly fierce but inwardly cowardly, shouted at each other, making the originally quiet island incredibly noisy. In contrast, Rosinante, tied to a wooden post, could only whimper and cry softly.

"Fuffuffuffu!"

A wild laugh broke through the crowd's clamor. A defiant commoner trembled, "Doflamingo, you devil! No one can save you today! It's time to collect interest on what you owe us!"

Doflamingo, supporting his forehead with one hand and dragging his sword with the other, laughed. "Fuffuffuffu, is that so? You lowly creatures. I'm right here. If you want revenge, then come and get it."

"Y-you... Don't be so arrogant! There are so many of us, we're not afraid of you!" The surrounding crowd stirred restlessly, but hesitated to act.

"Fuffuffuffu, calling you trash is an insult to trash. You don't even dare to raise a blade yourselves? As expected, garbage is garbage. Let me choose your deaths."

With that, he charged into the restless crowd, brandishing his rusty sword as he ran. Like a hungry wolf leaping into a flock of sheep, he slashed at anyone he saw, a crazed demon.

"Ah! He's a devil! What are you all waiting for? Kill this little bastard! Avenge everyone!"

The cries of "kill" drowned out Doflamingo. Countless fists, feet, knives, and swords came at him. Doflamingo wasn't flustered, nor was he afraid. Ever since coming to this disgusting world, Doflamingo had understood that fear was the most useless emotion. To live facing death, he could only move forward, he couldn't retreat, he couldn't fall. He would be the king of this world, the only king.

The glint of countless blades reflected in Doflamingo's glasses as they swung towards him. If he didn't dodge, he'd be chopped into mincemeat in an instant.

It was a strange sight. To outsiders, it looked like Doflamingo was frozen in fear, standing there motionless.

"Don't blame us! Blame the fact that you're a Celestial Dragon, the son of a devil! Die, Doflamingo!" The surrounding citizens were fired up, swinging their blades at the seemingly stunned Doflamingo.

"It's close, it's close! We're about to slaughter this little bastard!" This was the thought in the mind of every oppressed citizen at that moment.

In the distance, Trebol and the others saw this scene and shouted in fear, "Young Master, dodge!"

But Doflamingo seemed to hear nothing, lost in his own world. They saw Doflamingo being engulfed by the countless people.

"It's over, it's over! Young Master, our hope..." Diamante knelt on the ground, muttering.

"Ne-ne, Doffy, are you really...?" Trebol was stunned.

"Hahahaha! We finally killed this devil! We've avenged ourselves! Boo-hoo-hoo!" The surrounding citizens wept with joy, freely venting their emotions.

"Brother, are you really...?" Rosinante, who was tied up, stared blankly, murmuring.

"Fuffuffuffu, you underestimate me. Did you think that would be enough to kill me? I am unkillable, you lowly creatures!" Doflamingo's figure gradually descended from the air.

"You're all truly damned."

As his last words landed, an invisible wave of Conqueror's Haki surged forth, instantly changing the color of the sky.

It turned out that when Doflamingo was facing the onslaught of blades, he suddenly felt the world become much clearer. At that moment, he realized that his Observation Haki had awakened. He immediately used the strength he'd gained from his month of training to push off the ground and launch himself into the air, creating this perilous situation.

The faces of countless people turned pale. Seeing the unharmed Doflamingo standing in the crowd like a demon, they trembled with fear and collapsed to the ground, powerless. "He's a devil!"

Under the impact of the Conqueror's Haki, all the citizens fainted. Trebol and the others watched from afar as Doflamingo, surrounded by the unconscious bodies, resembled the sun surrounded by stars, dazzling and imposing.

"Fuffuffuffu, Vergo, you're just in time. Tie them all up. Such a fun game can't be without spectators and participants," Doflamingo laughed towards Vergo in the distance.

The noisy island finally quieted down. Vergo used his String-String Fruit abilities to tie up every citizen. Doflamingo sat in front of these wretched people, not saying a word.

After a long wait, the sky had darkened. The unconscious citizens finally woke up. The once-silent island was about to become lively again.

"Doflamingo, you devil! What are you going to do? Come on, kill me! I'm not afraid of you!" Some of the braver male citizens shouted.

"Fuffuffuffu, I like you fearless types the most. In that case, let's play a fun game," Doflamingo said sinisterly.

"Let's begin, Vergo. I can't wait. My blood is buzzing with excitement, fuffuffuffu!"

Without another word, Vergo used his String-String Fruit powers to control the defiant man like a puppet, making him grab a butcher knife and walk towards his fellow oppressed countrymen. One slash per person. Screams echoed everywhere.

"Ah! What did you do, Doflamingo? Stop it! Get away from me! I can't control myself!" The man cried out helplessly, tears and snot streaming down his face, his body moving against his will.

"Fuffuffuffu, aren't I just helping you do what you want to do? Since you can't swing the butcher knife, I'll help you. No need to thank me. I've always been so helpful," Doflamingo laughed, supporting his forehead with his hand.

"Look, what a beautiful scene! Trebol, what do you think? Is this game fun or not? Fuffuffuffu!"

"Ne-ne, Doffy, you're so kind. Yes, what a beautiful scene," Trebol and the others chimed in.

Nearby, Rosinante, who had been freed and had woken up from his unconscious state, watched this demonic scene unfold. His heart was filled with fear. He whispered, "Devil, a devil! Brother is a devil! Is this hell?" Under the cover of the thick night, he dragged his small, thin body away from this hell.

Rosinante, thinking he was unnoticed, didn't know that Doflamingo saw everything. However, he made no move, continuing to enjoy this hellish painting.

"My foolish little brother. Go. We're not meant to walk the same path. I hope you don't do something stupid like in the original story and come back. Next time, I won't spare you. I won't show mercy to anyone who stands in my way," Doflamingo thought to himself.

"Law, I will get you."

"Fuffuffuffu!"
