Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 The Oath of Tears and Blood

Kale slowly closed his eyes, and the memories in his mind once again surged like a flood. At this moment, he stood in front of the altar, his hands touching the ancient corpse, as if he had touched the deepest pain and hatred in his heart. The ancient bloodline seemed to revive at this moment, and he felt an unprecedented power welling up from within his body. However, along with it came an indescribable pain – his heart was torn in two, as if two worlds were intertwining and colliding.

Kale's figure swayed, and he could barely stand firm. But he clung tightly to the edge of the altar and gritted his teeth to endure the tearing feeling in his heart. His eyes were tightly closed, as if he was in another world – a world he had never truly understood, a world filled with blood and fire, love and hate.

He remembered that night sky with the blood moon hanging high, remembered himself wearing armor and holding a sharp blade, standing on the battlefield of the wolf clan.

At that time, he was still the leader of the wolf clan, heroic and fearless, leading his clan to repeated victories. However, in that fateful battle, everything changed dramatically.

"Kale!" A familiar voice sounded. It was the voice of Irene. Her figure appeared in Kale's memory like a ray of light. She was Kale's lover, his spiritual sustenance, and one of the greatest female warriors of the wolf clan.

"Irene..." Kale murmured in a low voice, and a sharp pain shot through his heart, as if that once-beautiful love was being crushed by the great wheel of time. He remembered that night, Irene sacrificed herself to protect him. She stood on the battlefield, facing death, while Kale was powerless. In that moment, Irene's face was as clear as the moonlight, and her final smile became a pain that Kale could never forget in his life.

"You will fight for your clan and your lover, Kale." Irene's voice sounded in his ears again. These were the words she said to him on her deathbed.

"I won't give up on you, Irene!" The young Kale had once sworn, but he never expected that he would eventually be burdened with an inescapable pain and embark on the path of revenge. That past event became the shackle of his life, from which he could not break free.

"What you carry is not just the flame of revenge, but also... that once-made oath." Irene's voice sounded again, with a hint of sadness. "Kale, no matter how many storms you go through, you must not forget the love we once had."

Kale's eyes suddenly opened wide, and tears welled up involuntarily, falling on the altar. An unparalleled pain welled up in the depths of his heart. The sorrow of losing his lover made him almost unable to breathe in an instant.

"Irene..." Kale muttered to himself, a trace of indescribable emotion flickering in his eyes. "I promised you that I would keep living, live for you and for the wolf clan. But is all of this really worth it?"

A trace of confusion flashed in his eyes. At this moment, he no longer seemed to be that tough leader of the wolf clan, but a lonely soul embracing pain and regret.

Irene's smile seemed to appear in front of Kale's eyes. It was the smile he had deeply missed. Her eyes were as bright as the stars, shining with hope and determination. And at that moment, Kale

finally understood what Irene had said.

"I understand, Irene." Kale said in a low voice, his voice filled with determination. "I will keep moving forward because I promised you that I won't let our oath become an empty promise."

With Kale's awakening, that ancient world gradually revived in his mind. His figure once again appeared on that battlefield with the blood moon hanging high, fighting side by side with Irene against thousands of enemies. Their blades crossed, and in the flash of swords and knives, their two hearts were closely intertwined. Unfortunately, all this could not last after all. In the end, Irene heroically fell on the battlefield to protect him.

Kale remembered that moment. Irene's face was serene, as if she had already seen through the end of all this. In her embrace, he heard her say softly, "Kale, remember my smile and don't forget the once-made oath."

That night, Kale's heart broke, and that oath also became the burden of his life.

"Kale! Are you okay?" The woman's voice pulled Kale back from his memories. She looked at him anxiously, as if she had sensed the pain in Kale's eyes.

Kale shook his head slightly, wiped the tears from the corners of his eyes, and took a deep breath. "I'm okay. I just remembered something just now."

The woman didn't say anything more. She just gently took Kale's hand. At that moment, a warm power was transmitted from her fingertips to Kale's heart. That power was not like the unbearable sadness that Irene brought, but a warm force, as if telling Kale that no matter what the past was like, he could still choose to move forward.

"Kale, you said that no matter what happens, we will face it together." The woman's voice was firm and gentle, as if she had lit a lamp for Kale, dispelling the haze in his heart.

Kale looked at her deeply, and the confusion in his eyes gradually dissipated, replaced by a wordless gratitude. He gently held her hand and said in a low voice, "Thank you. Really, thank you."

Alan stood aside, looking at the two of them, and the corners of his mouth curled up slightly. "You two are really... I've never seen people like you. No matter how dangerous it is ahead, you can still rely on each other."

Kale smiled and looked at Alan. "Yes, we will all rely on each other because we have been through so much, lost so much, and also gained so much. Even if we face the greatest difficulties, we will go on together."

Just then, the stone wall beside the altar suddenly shook, and a strong dark aura emerged from the stone wall, as if some kind of power was awakening within it. Kale's eyes narrowed. "The darkness... has it finally arrived?"

The woman gripped the handle of her knife tightly. "We're ready."

Alan also said seriously, "No matter what, we can't retreat."

Kale took a deep breath, his gaze firm. "Yes, we can't retreat. Today, we will not only fight for the honor of the wolf clan, but also avenge all that we have lost."

Suddenly, the stone wall go snap, and a huge shadow emerged from it. It was the embodiment of darkness, exuding a suffocating aura. It was like a huge dark cloud, enveloping the entire hall, and everyone felt that powerful oppressive force.

Kale, the woman, and Alan did not hesitate. They quickly rushed forward to face that dark enemy. Although their hearts were filled with fear, they knew that only by fighting, only by facing the darkness directly, could they welcome the true light.

At this moment, Kale once again felt the power that Irene had once given him. It was an oath that transcended time and space, an unyielding determination.

He raised his sharp blade, and a fearless light flickered in his eyes. "Let's go, towards the end of fate!"

They embarked on the final journey, facing the darkness that awaited them, and they would never back down.
