Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Leon’s Freedom

I'm inside my cell, the alarms are so damn loud. What the hell happened? Suddenly a fast dark figure bolted through the facility making the whole place shake. Whatever this force was, I was very bad. The alarms stop after a long while. People rush into my cell specifically. A leader punched me hard in the face. He yells at me asking questions. "What the hell did you do, did you two plan this? You're hiding something and we want answers."

I bleed and respond with hard confusion. "I don't know what you're talking about, I have been here the whole time."

He responded with a vulgar voice. "You do know, you've all killed your families. I know it's not a coincidence, it's a plan. You are all monsters, you and that other brother of yours."

They grab me out and into a room with a spinning table-like machine. I am strapped strong and tightly to it. They ask me to confess to what I know. "You better start talking or you will be in a world of pain."

I say. "I don't know what you are talking about, I have said it many times."

He looks at the operator and nods. The machines start spinning rapidly and shaking. I feel my head trying to fly off my body but the pain just won't end. My flesh wants to tear off my body from the fast speed. The machine stops and he asks again. "I will only ask you this one more time, what do you know about Callum, that we don't."

I'm not sure what they are talking about, I just say nothing and look into his eyes deeply. I want him to know that I should not be reckoned with.

This man snaps and turns the machine back on. They all head out leaving me there spinning until they come back for answers.

Back at the prison, Callith is escorted to his cell in the hallway until three people dressed in heavy gear stop them. They take Callith to the same prison as Leon. He wakes up in a room next to Leon, strapped into the same device as him. They both are asleep across from each other.

I woke up and noticed Callith in front of me and passed out. I thought for sure I was hallucinating from the rapid spinning. The force must have messed with my brain, causing it to damage a little. I faintly talk to him asleep so I can wake him up. "Callith, What are you doing here? Callith wakes up. Wake up!."

He wakes up and is not in a great mood either. "Shut up Leon…just shut up. I thought you were an only child, that my whole life I was left in a shadow. Only for you not to be there. It's not like it was your fault Leon, but I don't need you to tell me a hundred times."

I reply with. "Then why did you kill your mother and father, I thought I was the only one who did. But it turns out all of us did, I don't know what the hell is happening but it needs to end right now."

He responds on a different subject. "The night after I killed them, I had a dream. There was a voice, the setting was dark and a bit gloomy yet ominous. That voice grew louder, he told me this. "Ohh Callith, one of my champions, you were so close to making me proud of you, but you didn't. I had a son who felt like killing his family for fun. How is it being a disappointment to me, being the son I could never have wanted in all my existence? You disgust me Callith."

I was surprised to hear about his experience, and I wanted to ask him if he still does. "Do you still have those dreams? I meant they don't just happen once. Once a dream starts, it becomes occuring."

He looks up at me. "Three times, three times I have had that dream. That guy tortured me until he offered me another chance to make him satisfied. He said this to me." "Impressive you're getting stronger you are growing, almost enough to change my mind. You seem like you want to kill people. I will give you a chance eventually to make me satisfied, but if you fail me, you're done for."

I didn't know what to think, who was he dreaming about? "Why do you think we were in a cult when we were born, maybe that has something to do with your dreams."

He sighs. "You don't believe in that stuff do you, I mean come on you should be the smart one."

I remember another piece of information I read, it read about Callum and Callith had brain damage, but I wasn't as bad. Perhaps It wasn't brain damage but instead a curse from the cult onto us. I didn't believe much of the supernatural or other mystical things, but I thought we had somewhat of a god looking down on humanity.

I tell him something that might make sense. "Maybe the guy in your dreams was a god or an evil overlord. Perhaps he was the one those people worshiped. He might be the reason we are like this, but I am not so sure."

The door opens and the other leader comes into the room laughing. "Well I think I heard enough, I mean come on over lord, that's the reason you killed your families. I thought you were smarter, you don't know anything about Callum."

He looked back at his force and nodded at them. "Kill them, they are no longer worth my while."

They start cocking their guns and start to fire. Hundreds of bullets flew into Callith, his skin popping and bleeding hard. I watched my brother get gunned down in front of me, I didn't say anything but a small tear came from my eye. I thought maybe I wasn't alone, if I had a brother things would have been different, I could have had something to truly see. I glared at those monsters killing him first.

The leader of the firing squad says this one last. "You take our people, we will take yours from you, whether they are alive or not."

I realize that they are not a legal government force. "You are not supported by the government are you, you are just your group of people."

He looks at me shocked and confused. "Who the hell told you that? Well, I guess you figured it out, this whole place, not even the CAI knows what we do here. One day we brought a pathetic being into here, and he pointed out that we are doing illegal acts, yet you are a killer Leon. You are smart, but you end now.

He points the gun at my head. "Say your final word you son of a bi-." Suddenly before he finishes his words, a scythe slices through his chest. He looks down at the blade slowly and touches it, his body then stops moving. The weapon is pulled out and he falls to the floor dead. Callith is covered in an armor that resembles snake scales, he looks like he just got a lot stronger than normal. He starts cutting up the people around the room. So many gunfires shatter against his protective armor. The lethal force runs out and tries to evacuate the facility.

Callith, flowing them behind, snatched one and snapped his neck. "Where do all of you think you headed off to? I head off all of you."

There is one guy on the floor crawling on his back to get away. Callith lifts his foot and lowers it onto his head, turning it into a bloody mulch. "Have a nice trip, all of you."

One throws a grande at Callith and it explodes on him. Callith is still standing unharmed by the blast force. The soldier trips on the ground and stumbles backward. "What the hell is that?"

A few others try and help him up, one saying not to panic. "Don't move, maybe he responds to movement."

Callith ran at them. "What do you take me as s a goddamn wild cat. I can see you right now, right through your body do you feel the adrenaline rush flow through you."

Over time that place is covered in blood and screams of agony. I am still tied up and that place begins the smell of death. Callith heads in and walks up to me. "You know Leon, maybe you were right. I was meant to be bad, killing people for the greater good, this will work out just fine for me."

I don't like this new side of him. "Callith what are you doing, I don't think this is you."

He yells back. "You don't even know me, Loen. We have known each other for 3 days, and you're saying this isn't even me?"

I try to say something back because he doesn't let me and covers my mouth. "I want to see this world burn, people will pay for their mistakes. Humanity is nothing but greedy and cruel, so why is it that I am killing them and worse than killing each other? They aren't ever working together now, they are just running from me like a bunch of prey."

Callith just left me there tied up and broke out of the facility. He shouts one last thing at me. "If you don't agree with me, then you can help yourself out."

I look around for a hard object that can bust the lock of the hard belt keeping me in place. There is a gun on the floor, hopefully, I can somehow get to it with tied-up hands. I was going to try and til the machine over hoping to not land on my face or I might be crushed by the sheer weight of it. I start to shake my body to move the machine and it starts to rock. I repeat this step and it falls over on its side luckily not the front. I use my teeth to get the gun and try moving it to my hand. I slide to my palms and I pick it up. I use whatever force I can use to smash the lock. The metal starts to dent until it starts to crack. After some time the lock opens from the damage and I free my hand and then my other. I break my legs free and start to find a way out of this hell.
