Chapter 30 - 30. Entering Shrek Academy

"The academy registration will last for half a month, and coincidentally, today is the second to last day of registration." Seeing Wang Feng and Huo Yuhao looking around with interest, Bei Bei explained at the right moment.

Bei Bei had also explained some things to Huo Yuhao along the way.

For example, the admission standards of Shrek Academy required students to be under twelve years old and to have at least a spirit power level of fifteen to apply. They also needed a recommendation letter from at least a major city.

Of course, Huo Yuhao didn't meet any of those requirements, but fortunately, the Tang Sect had a special recommendation quota, which allowed Huo Yuhao to be admitted without taking the entrance exam.

However, there would be a very strict new student assessment three months later. If Huo Yuhao failed that assessment, he would still be expelled.

In response to these things, Huo Yuhao, with his cute little face, said seriously that he would definitely pass the new student assessment.

Even though he wasn't as good as most of the new students now, he had guidance from Wang Feng, various techniques from the Tang Sect, and the help of Teacher Xiaoya and his older brother.

He believed that he could pass the test and become a truly strong soul master.

Bei Bei and Tang Ya were, of course, enthusiastic in encouraging him.

Since Bei Bei and Tang Ya were wearing third-year uniforms, the four of them entered Shrek City directly from the East Gate, and no one stopped them along the way.

However, Wang Feng drew the most attention along the way. He was extremely handsome, and his skin was even comparable to that of girls.

Tang Ya couldn't help but purse her lips. "They're clearly attracted by good looks. It's fine for first-year students, but why are even fifth and sixth-year students like this? So shallow!!"

Wang Feng could only respond with a polite smile.

At the East Gate, there were about a dozen young men and women guarding the area, all of them around the same age. Each of them wore yellow outfits with a green pattern on the chest. These were the uniforms for second- and third-year students in Shrek Academy's outer court.

When they saw Bei Bei, the young students immediately showed respect. "Senior Brother Bei, you're back."

Bei Bei smiled and greeted each of the junior and senior students. Then he said, "This time, I brought two juniors to register. One is a member of the Tang Sect, and the other will take the test normally."

The student glanced at Huo Yuhao and Wang Feng, then nodded immediately. "Senior Brother Bei, why would we doubt your word? You can bring the junior brother from the Tang Sect to register. As for the other one, we'll test him first."

Bei Bei turned to Huo Yuhao and the others. "Yuhao, since you're a member of the Tang Sect, you're exempt from the entrance test. But Wang Feng will have to take the test. Don't worry, during the test, you'll just need to state your age, martial soul, spirit power level, and your spirit rings."

"Alright," Wang Feng nodded.

Wang Feng walked up to the registration table while Huo Yuhao, Bei Bei, and Tang Ya waited nearby.

As Wang Feng stepped forward, the student on duty asked, "Name?"

"Wang Feng."

"Age?"

"Eleven years old."

"Martial Soul?"

"Lotus of Harmony."

"Lotus of Harmony?" The student in charge of registration looked confused, but still wrote it down.

"Show me your recommendation letter."

Wang Feng nodded, took out an envelope, and handed it to the student.

The student opened the envelope and asked again, "Spirit power level?"

"Spirit Elder, level 30."

The student was stunned for a moment, but quickly composed himself. Although level 30 spirit power was very rare among new students, it wasn't unheard of.

"Show me your spirit rings."

As Wang Feng raised his hand, a soft light enveloped his palm, and suddenly, the Lotus of Harmony appeared. Its petals slowly unfolded with a mystical glow. In an instant, two spirit rings emerged and floated around his body—one was deep purple, the other black, as dark as an abyss.

The moment the spirit rings appeared, the air seemed to freeze. Complete silence fell. It was as if the world itself was holding its breath.

The eyes of the student administering Wang Feng's test widened, and his breath caught in his throat. "D-Dark purple and black?! How is that possible…?" His voice was barely a whisper, but loud enough for a few nearby students to hear.

Two students behind him were so shocked that they took a step back. "Is... Is that really a ten-thousand-year spirit ring!? How can a Spirit Elder at level 30 have a ten-thousand-year spirit ring!? A-And even his first ring is dark purple, which means the beast was over 5,000 years old!"

Bei Bei, Tang Ya, and Huo Yuhao, who had also witnessed the event, were equally stunned.

Bei Bei, who usually wore a calm smile, now frowned, showing a very serious expression. Although he had suspected Wang Feng to be very powerful, this was beyond expectations.

When Tang Ya saw Wang Feng's spirit rings, the first thought that popped into her mind was—she had to get him to join the Tang Sect. With someone like Wang Feng, the revival of the Tang Sect would be unstoppable.

Huo Yuhao was also shocked. He already knew Wang Feng was amazing, but he didn't expect him to be this incredible. Not only could he withstand the power of a several-thousand-year-old spirit ring for his first ring, he could also bear a ten-thousand-year spirit ring for his second!

Even though Huo Yuhao had a million-year spirit ring, it was thanks to sheer luck. His body could barely withstand even a few-hundred-year-old ring, or worse.

After a few moments, though the student in charge of testing Wang Feng was still stunned, he managed to calm down. He then passed Wang Feng, giving him a badge and a dorm key.

At that moment, a sharp voice echoed in Wang Feng's mind:

"Shrek Academy has been successfully entered. Congratulations…"

As the voice rang out—

Wang Feng was startled.

He hadn't heard the system's voice in a long time. The last time might have been when he awakened his martial soul. Wang Feng didn't check the system reward immediately—there were too many people around, and it wasn't the right place. He decided to check it later in his room.

Wang Feng walked over to join Huo Yuhao and the others.

Tang Ya immediately jumped forward, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Wang Feng! You're amazing! No, more than amazing!" She grabbed Wang Feng's hand, her expression full of enthusiasm. "Listen, you have to join the Tang Sect! With your power, the revival of the Tang Sect will happen faster than I ever imagined!"

Wang Feng turned toward her, but before he could respond, Bei Bei cleared his throat gently. "Calm down, Xiao Ya," he said in a soft but firm voice. "Don't pressure him."

Tang Ya pouted but let go of Wang Feng's wrist. "But Bei Bei, you saw it too! He's incredibly strong!"

Bei Bei could only offer a faint smile. He knew Tang Ya was very passionate about reviving the Tang Sect. But geniuses like Wang Feng usually didn't like being pushed too hard. Otherwise, it might have the opposite effect and make Wang Feng uncomfortable.

Huo Yuhao was dazed, his cute little face showing no reaction. Even when Wang Feng walked up to him, he didn't snap out of it. Wang Feng tried calling him.

"Yuhao… Yuhao… Yuhao!"

Huo Yuhao finally came back to his senses and found Wang Feng's face very close to his. His cheeks flushed a little, and he took a small step back before asking, "W-What is it, Wang Feng?"

"Why are you just standing there? Brother Bei and Sister Tang Ya said we should get going. They're going to show us around Shrek Academy. If you don't move, you'll get left behind!" Wang Feng replied.

"Wait a second, I was just shocked after seeing your spirit rings earlier," Huo Yuhao said quickly.

"Hehe, what did you think? I'm awesome, right?" Wang Feng asked with a big grin.

"Y-Yeah, Wang Feng, you're really awesome. I don't know if I'll ever be as strong as you," Huo Yuhao said.

Then he felt a hand gently ruffle his hair. "Don't worry, even if you can't, you've still got me! I'll always protect you."

Huo Yuhao's eyes turned red, as if he were about to cry.

He stood still for a moment, feeling Wang Feng's hand on his head. The warmth, something he rarely experienced, made his chest tighten slightly. But he quickly blinked, trying to hold back the emotions that were about to overflow.

"Hey, don't treat me like a kid," he muttered, turning his face away awkwardly.

Wang Feng chuckled. "Alright, alright. But you're still my best friend, so there's nothing wrong with me looking out for you, right?"

Huo Yuhao let out a small huff, but the corners of his lips curled slightly. "I'll work hard to become stronger too. Don't think you can always be the one protecting me."

Wang Feng raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Is that so? I'll be waiting for that day, Yuhao."

As the two joked lightly, Tang Ya came over. "Yuhao, Wang Feng, come on. Bei Bei and I are going to show you around the academy."

The group began touring Shrek Academy. Bei Bei and Tang Ya introduced the various buildings to the two boys. Wang Feng wasn't very interested in the infrastructure, but Huo Yuhao listened attentively.

When they arrived at the Class One teaching building, Bei Bei gave the two of them a few instructions before taking Tang Ya back to the senior class area, leaving the boys to head toward the dorms on their own.
