Chapter 15 - 15. One Year

After arriving in Aolai City, Wang Feng immediately headed home. He missed his grandmother after not seeing her for a whole day.

Before long, he arrived at the corner of the city where he and his grandmother lived.

Without wasting any more time, he hurried toward his house. Once he reached the front door, Wang Feng knocked gently.

After a moment, a voice came from inside the house. "Yes, who is it?"

The door slowly opened, and standing in the doorway was an elderly woman with neatly arranged white hair. Grandmother Wang Feng observed who had come, and her eyes widened as she recognized the figure before her.

"It's me, Grandma. I've returned from the forest and successfully obtained my spirit ring!" Wang Feng said enthusiastically.

As soon as she saw her grandson, Grandmother Wang Feng was utterly shocked. "You... Wang Feng!? My grandson Wang Feng? Why do you look so different? You weren't this big before!"

Indeed, Wang Feng's transformation was drastic. His once slim and small frame had grown taller and more muscular, with denser and stronger muscles. Now, he looked like a ten-year-old despite being younger than that. His face still bore some resemblance to his past self, but the aura he emitted was far more mature and confident.

Wang Feng smiled and immediately hugged his grandmother tightly. "I went through a lot in the forest, Grandma. My body has changed significantly due to training and the enhancement of my spirit power. But don't worry, I'm still the same grandson you know."

Grandmother Wang Feng was still in shock, but her expression gradually softened. She gently stroked Wang Feng's head with affection. "The most important thing is that you returned safely. Come in, you must be tired and hungry."

Without hesitation, Wang Feng stepped inside the house. The familiar aroma of simple home-cooked meals welcomed him, reminding him of the warmth and comfort of home. He sat at the table while his grandmother quickly prepared some food.

"So, tell me what happened in the forest," she said while pouring warm soup into a bowl.

Wang Feng picked up his chopsticks and started eating, then began recounting his journey. From his encounter with spirit beasts, his struggle to obtain his first spirit ring, to how his body underwent a drastic transformation.

"I also met a very special spirit beast, Grandma. Its name was Xingyue Fox. I felt a connection with it, and it even helped me in some ways."

Grandmother Wang Feng nodded in admiration. "It sounds like you've made great progress. But remember, great power also comes with great responsibility. Don't let yourself be consumed by your strength."

Wang Feng smiled and nodded. "Of course, Grandma. I'll keep working hard to become stronger, but I'll also always remember the values you taught me."

After a warm dinner filled with stories, Wang Feng felt his body relax. It had been a long day, but he knew this was just the beginning of his journey. That night, he slept peacefully, imagining the future that awaited him.

Time always passed quietly, with one dull day after another. Wang Feng spent another year in this monotonous cycle of cultivation, day after day...

One year later…

In a dense forest, amidst towering trees and lush undergrowth, a small figure could be seen training with unwavering determination.

Though he was only seven years old, his physique resembled that of a ten-year-old—taller and more robust than other children his age. His body was lean yet well-proportioned, with finely defined muscles that demonstrated extraordinary physical development for someone so young.

His face was so flawless that it seemed almost unreal, as if sculpted with absolute precision. His skin was fair and smooth, with a faint reddish hue on his cheeks, giving him a healthy and radiant appearance. His jet-black hair was soft and gleamed under the sunlight, slightly tousled but still looking naturally charming.

However, the most striking feature of this boy was his eyes—his left eye was blood-red, glowing like burning embers, radiating a determination and strength that a child his age should not possess. Meanwhile, his right eye was a brilliant gold, shining like the morning sun, exuding an aura of wisdom and almost divine presence. The combination of these two colors made his gaze deep, as if capable of piercing the soul of anyone who stared at him for too long.

Despite his young age, every movement of his body reflected natural elegance, unlike other children who were still clumsy in their actions. There was something about him—a mysterious aura that made him seem more mature, more impressive, as if the world around him moved to a rhythm dictated by his existence.

At this moment, the boy was training among carefully set-up traps. Hidden wires shot toward him, wooden logs fell at high speed, and small projectiles darted from various directions. Yet, his body moved with agility. His feet floated lightly, twisting in the air with extraordinary flexibility, dodging every attack with perfect precision. Each movement was calculated; not a single motion was wasted.

The wind carried the sound of his steady breathing, proving that he had become accustomed to this kind of training. Every failed trap only made him faster and more agile. He was like a dancing shadow amidst the continuous assault. If someone saw him without knowing his age, they might think he was a seasoned expert who had trained for years.

That boy was Wang Feng.

A year had passed since he obtained his first spirit ring. With his body strengthened by spirit energy, he had not only grown stronger but also experienced unnatural growth for a child his age. Not only had his physical strength improved, but his sensitivity to the spirit energy around him had also sharpened.

After a few minutes, Wang Feng stopped. Not a single trap had managed to touch him. He took a deep breath, calming his heartbeat, then let out a faint smile.

He then raised his hand, activating the Lotus of Harmony. A soft blue light appeared from his palm, flowing along his body, giving a sensation of complete balance. Wang Feng's eyes flickered sharply, as if he had made a decision.

"My second spirit ring... It looks like I will obtain it soon."

"With my current physical strength, I can easily defeat early-stage and mid-stage Spirit Elders. Moreover, just with my physical endurance alone, I can rival a late-stage Spirit Elder. If I use my first spirit ability, I can defeat a level 42 Spirit Ancestor with some difficulty and even fight evenly against a level 44 Spirit Ancestor. If I obtain my second spirit ring, my strength will probably increase even further."

Wang Feng clenched his fist and murmured softly.

"Tomorrow, I will head to the Demon Sealing Forest for my second spirit ring. I've heard that a ten-thousand-year-old spirit beast lives there. I will make it my second spirit ring."

His heterochromatic eyes were filled with determination.
