Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Godzilla Arrives at Belobog

At the peak of these powers were the beings known as Aeons, whose Paths shaped the destiny of entire worlds.

Cocolia suspected that Godzilla might be a creation of one such Aeon—or perhaps even an Aeon walking the Path itself.

In any case, in order to change Belobog's dire situation, Cocolia had risked everything to seek out Godzilla.

It was a gamble with her life on the line.

Fortunately, it seems she had made the right bet.

-----------------------------

Curious why this great guardian had come here.

"Jarilo-VI was once eroded by the Stellaron and on the verge of destruction. You saved this place. On behalf of all the residents of Belobog, the only surviving city on this planet, I express our gratitude to you."

Huh? Me?

Godzilla blinked, a little confused, but then quickly realized— That warm feeling in his stomach… could it be caused by the Stellaron?

His gaze swept across the surroundings, taking in the scorched earth as far as the eye could see.

The planet Jarilo-VI had been ravaged by the Stellaron, with cold waves spreading across the entire planet. Now, it was nothing but a barren wasteland.

Godzilla understood. No wonder he had been feeling so hungry before—sleeping through it must have filled him up.

He had thought it was just the reactor inside him doing its job.

So.

"What do you want from me?" Godzilla lowered his head slightly. Just that small movement caused an immense pressure to bear down on the two figures before him.

The heat from his breath made Cocolia's cheeks flush red, sweat soaking her back. Gritting her teeth, she raised her head, her gaze firm.

"I am willing to offer my faith. I will become your strongest shield and your sharpest spear, as long as you protect Jarilo-VI and restore life to this frozen planet!"

For the future of Jarilo-VI, the Great Guardian came to offer her faith—just to bring life back to this long-frozen planet!

Perhaps it was the lingering influence of the Stellaron's corruption, but Cocolia didn't hesitate much about changing her faith.

She had prayed to the Preservation Aeon for mercy to save this dying planet.

But all she had received was an increasingly harsh living environment in Belobog and the relentless erosion of the Fragmentum.

She had not forgotten the records in the books—the Antimatter Legion still posed a threat. For Belobog, for this broken planet, she was willing to give everything!

She didn't know how this great being before her compared to the Antimatter Legion, but she knew one thing—Both were beings far beyond Belobog's reach.

And now, with Godzilla right in front of her, this was Belobog's chance at survival. She wouldn't let go. She couldn't allow herself to let go!

'Boring…' Godzilla's tail swayed lazily as he processed the situation. So… they were just looking for a powerful backer, huh?

He didn't care about Cocolia's offer at all. It wasn't like he needed faith to survive. Besides, even if the Antimatter Legion came back for revenge— Wait… actually, unless it was the a Lord Emanator themself, he could probably handle them, right?

Shaking off that tempting thought, Godzilla remained clear-headed. The Aeons walking the path of Destiny were beyond him for now. Even the Emanators under the Aeons wielded terrifying power.

Even the weakest Emanator had the strength to destroy planets. He didn't want to provoke them.

For now, all he wanted was to find a quiet place to sleep, grow stronger, and see how far this body of his could evolve. If he could grow to the level of Singularity Godzilla, maybe then he'd feel a little safer.

"Boom!" Godzilla slowly turned, taking a step forward. He needed to find a better place to sleep.

"Did I… fail?"

Watching Godzilla as he began to leave, Cocolia sighed inwardly. It was indeed difficult to impress such a being of intelligence and power. Maybe the offer just wasn't enough. But what else could Belobog possibly offer to entice such a being?

How foolish to even hope. She could only pray the Antimatter Legion wouldn't notice this planet that had vanished 700 years ago…

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

Wait!

Still lost in thought, Cocolia suddenly raised her head. Something was wrong with those footsteps!

Why did they sound like they were heading the other way?!

"Mother! H-He's heading toward Belobog!"

"What?!" Hearing Bronya's shout, Cocolia gasped instinctively.

Following the sound of the booming footsteps, she saw it—That towering figure was indeed moving toward Belobog.

Despite his slow and casual pace, with his size, a single step covered a distance that humans could barely hope to match. In the blink of an eye, he had already crossed several kilometers.

"Hurry! Follow him!" Even though she didn't sense the terrifying aura from that day, just from his size alone, a single step could leave a massive crater in Belobog.

And if the nervous Silvermane Guards were to attack him by accident…

Recalling that terrifying beam that had carved out this very canyon—deep and scorched—Cocolia's hands and feet went cold as she rushed to catch up.

Godzilla had originally planned to leave and find a new bed. He had already taken a step forward but suddenly made a 180-degree turn—Even Bronya was stunned.

"Belobog seems to have something interesting."

In that moment, Godzilla remembered the Geomarrow beneath Belobog. That was good stuff—perfect as a snack or even a bed.

Even though he already had a Stellaron in his stomach… Who would complain about having too much good stuff?

If he wanted to grow stronger quickly, he had to devour everything useful he could find.

And so… this was the result.

With no real threat in sight, Godzilla leisurely walked across the snowfield.

Centuries of accumulated snow wouldn't melt easily, but every step he took radiated intense heat, melting the snow beneath him and seeping it into the earth.

He was quite relaxed, but over at Belobog, people were almost scared to death.

"Captain Gepard! That giant beast is heading toward Belobog!"

"Both the Supreme Guardian and Lady Bronya have left the city—Captain Gepard, what should we do?!"

The Silvermane Guards raised their weapons warily, staring at the enormous figure approaching Belobog.

Gepard Landau.

A member of the Landau family, a Belobog garrison officer. He carried the mission of protecting Belobog on his shoulders.

But as he gazed at the towering figure that seemed to merge with the heavens and the earth, Gepard was momentarily at a loss. Could something like this really be dealt with by humans?

No, no! Shaking his head hard, Gepard clenched his fists. They were the Silvermane Guards—the firm shield of Belobog! How could they lose their nerve before the fight even began?!

"Don't worry about searching for the Supreme Guardian right now—they'll be fine. Send a squad of soldiers to evacuate the civilians! Get them to the lower district! Everyone else, prepare to engage the enemy!"

...

"Damn it! Gepard's starting to command the battle!" Bronya exclaimed as she looked toward Belobog from a distance.

Even though it was hard to see clearly from this distance, the snowstorm that once blocked the view over Belobog had cleared, greatly improving visibility. The soldiers urgently mobilizing on the city walls were clearly visible to them.

Both of them summoned all their strength, bursting forth at unprecedented speed. After all, they were carrying the fate of the entire Belobog on their shoulders!

"Everyone! Prepare!" Gepard raised his weapon and shouted.

"Wait!" Fortunately, thanks to years of training, the two managed to outrun the leisurely pace of Godzilla and rushed back to Belobog. But before Gepard and the others could celebrate their return, Cocolia urgently spoke up.

"Everyone, lower your weapons! Absolutely no hostility!"

"Supreme Guardian?" Gepard was dumbfounded. The highest authority was telling them to stand down?

Cocolia glanced at Gepard. Though he didn't know what was going on, with the combined authority of the Supreme Guardian and Bronya, even though the soldiers didn't understand, they obeyed.

After all, the civilians had already been evacuated to the lower district—surely things would be fine, right?

Not long after the Silvermane Guards dropped their guard—

Boom!

A heavy footstep echoed through the air, followed by a dull crashing sound as the city wall, which had withstood centuries of cold and monster attacks, was effortlessly smashed through.

Just by passing by, Gepard felt like he was standing inside a furnace.

In the next second, everyone's breathing stopped.

The last time they saw Godzilla, it was from far away—they knew it was big, but not thisbig!

The defensive walls of Belobog only reached the beast's waist. Now Gepard understood why they were told to stand down. With a body like that—anyone who tried to fight would be crushed.

And that wasn't even considering its ranged attacks.

Cocolia watched Godzilla's every move nervously. She had experienced firsthand the terror of a Stellaron, so she understood how terrifying a creature that could easily devour a Stellaron would be.

Gepard's defenses would only provoke a creature that originally had no intent to attack.

She could only hope that it wasn't here to destroy Belobog.

'It seems to be here.' Godzilla lightly stomped on the ground, feeling the feedback from the earth.

The geomarrow mine was underground —he could dig it up with one stomp, but that would collapse the upper district. That wouldn't be a big deal, but the industrial debris falling on him? No thanks.

Boom! The thick ground let out a loud roar of protest under the weight, and Godzilla's body suddenly sank downward.

Seeing this, Cocolia almost fainted. But someone else was even more shocked.

Thousands of words flashed through Gepard's mind, but in the end, they all condensed into one words, "Damn"

How were they supposed to know that this thing was after something underground?!

...

Meanwhile, in the lower district, the evacuation was proceeding quickly thanks to the reopening of the connection between the upper and lower districts after the recent incident. The citizens from the upper district quickly made their way to safety in the lower district.

A petite girl was helping to calm the anxious crowd with her companions.

"Everyone, don't worry. This is underground, and the Silvermane Guards are stationed above. We're safe here."

Seeing the gradually calming crowd, Pela couldn't help but smile.

Boom!

A deafening sound erupted as dust filled the air and a scorching current rushed into the underground.

Pela was lifted off her feet by the sudden shockwave and landed with a thud, her glasses knocked askew.

'Did someone just say something about safety?' Godzilla curiously scanned his surroundings. A lot of people. Some small ones holding weapons, looking like they were about to cry.

Shaking his head, Godzilla dismissed the thought. As long as they didn't attack him or show hostility, he wouldn't bother with them.

Unless he was bored—then he wouldn't mind teaching them a lesson.

"That direction… is the mining district?" The blue-haired girl at the front stared at Godzilla's retreating back with a puzzled expression.

But whatever the case, they were alive.

"Phew, we're safe…" Pela's legs gave out, and her small body collapsed onto Seele's lap, her cheeks flushed.
