Alex opened his eyes and looked at the clock in his room, it was currently 5am in the morning.
Summoning his system, his eyes immediately zoomed in on the number of exp he had.
He had decided to sleep yesterday after getting 200 exp since he would need to get up early today and did not want to tire himself out, he won't be in any condition to read then!
But first and foremost, Alex decided to level up this morning.
All Alex needed to do was to think of it and the 200 exp he had gotten from yesterday's reading were instantly used up.

Alex did not waste time and immediately used up the 500 exp that he just received from the system.

Alex suddenly felt a great rush of mana within his body, he felt so powerful that he could shatter a whole building if he wished to.
Of course, he knew that it was only a feeling from crossing two major ranks in one go, he could not really shatter a building with one spell; he would need at least two spells!

Not only had he learned to construct a star pattern automatically from the system, he had been rewarded with shocking abilities and legendary items!
One had to know that for a mage to be able to use a spell, they need to form a Channel where they would pour in their mana to communicate with the elemental plane.
For mage's at the Apprentice Mage rank, they did not need to learn anything since they were unable to use any meaningful spells; all their spells were just for show and had no effect.
But things were different once one reached the Adept Mage rank, they would need to learn how to construct a star pattern to be able to use real spells! The spell of an Adept Mage could destroy a whole tree!
A star pattern consistent of five stars which a mage would need to form after reaching the Adept stage, forming a single star could take days and completing the whole pattern might take a month or even more.
While at the Core Mage rank, the mage would need to create another one. Which meant that they would need to construct two star patterns whenever they had to cast a spell!
But Alex did not need to go through all that stress, the system has helped him to learn them instantaneously!
This wasn't the only good thing Alex had received. The items and abilities were also mind blowing, he was already thinking of how to use them to his advantage.
Aura Master was perfect for his current situation, he could hide his Core Mage strength and fake being at the Apprentice Mage rank.
Void Walk could help him escape in moments of danger. Although it's flexibility was not that good, it was still an awesome ability!
As for the indestructible Robe, he did not even need to imagine how valuable it was.
The thing could block the attacks from anyone below the Sage Mage rank!
The Sage Mage rank! In the Mage path power ranking, there were only two ranks higher than the Sage rank! The chances of Alex encountering people stronger than a Sage was very low.
"Alex, calm down. Don't get overconfident because of a robe, you'll only use it as a last resort or during special situations. Building your own strength is more important." Alex said to himself as he gradually calmed down from his excitement but this didn't mean that he wasn't excited about the good surprises that the system has given him this morning!
As a hardcore anime/manga fan in his past life, Alex knew that being too confident was the beginning of the end for any character no matter how strong or how gifted they were; it was better to be strong and cautious.
He had only worked 200 exp but had been rewarded 500 exp and amazing gifts, this was the best morning in Alex's whole life up till now!
Forcibly containing his excitement and the urge to dance around, Alex came down from his bed and began to clean his room while humming a happy tone.
His bed was littered with the books he had read last night and some other stuff were lying about on the floor. He needed to clean them first.
After cleaning, Alex went into the bathroom to wash up.
He was putting on his uniform when he heard a knock on the other side of his door.
"Big brother, mom says you should come eat breakfast." Emily's voice came from outside the room.
"Coming!" Alex responded and quickly put his uniform on before grabbing his silver cloak.
The old Alex usually left for school very early since he also worked at the library. His mother had decided to help him make breakfast every morning so her son didn't go to school on an empty stomach.

Alex opened the door and saw Emily standing in front of the door. The girl was still in her sleeping pajamas, her hair was messy and she looked sleepy; it was obvious that she wasn't fully awake yet.
Emily raised her head to look at Alex immediately as the door opened.
"Good morning, big brother." she greeted.
Looking at his cute little sister, Alex was unable to contain his excitement from the system anymore.
He picked up Emily and spun around while holding her.
"Good morning!" Alex replied while laughing happily and kissed her on the forehead before going towards the stairs.
Emily was left standing in place with a petrified face, the spin just now had woken her up completely and she was now looking at the leaving Alex while touching her forehead.
"What's wrong with big brother?" She wondered why Alex was so happy this morning.

Alex arrived downstairs and headed for the kitchen where his mom was setting the table for him.
"Good morning mom!" Alex greeted after reaching the table, his tone was so merry that one could not miss the joy in it.
His mother responded to his greeting with a curious smile as she pushed the plate of food to Alex.
"So what happened? Did you get me a daughter-in-law?" His mother asked teasingly while rubbing his hair affectionately.
Alex coughed as he almost choked after hearing that question. He didn't even have a girlfriend in his past life, how could he get one here when he has only been here for a day?
"Fufufuf, I'll leave you to eat. Remember to bring her home one of these days!" His mother giggled at his reaction before moving back to her work in the kitchen.
Alex finished his food and left the house after saying goodbye, he began to walk in the direction of his academy.
But before that, he had something that he needed to fix on the way.
He had seen the bruises on Emily's face this morning when he kissed her forehead and a plan had formed in his mind.
He had enough materials to fix the issue with his little sister!
