Chapter 22 - Gods Tournaments 3

As Lyraea traversed the Gods' Realm, her illusory divine aura preceding her like a herald, the fourth match commenced, precipitating a flurry of excitement amongst the spectators. The announcer's voice boomed, "Ling Yin from the Xiao Family shall face off against an enigmatic opponent from the Ling Family, known only as... *UNKNOWN*!"

The crowd's collective curiosity was piqued, their whispers and murmurs swirling through the air like a maelstrom. "Who is this mysterious adversary?" they queried amongst themselves. "Why has the Ling Family concealed her identity and abilities?"

As Ling Yin emerged onto the battlefield, her eyes scanning the horizon for her opponent, a figure began to take form, emerging from the very earth itself. The unknown warrior wore a mask that shrouded her face in mystery, its intricate design etched with tiny, glowing blue runes that seemed to pulse with an otherworldly energy.

Her attire was a dark, billowing ensemble, comprising a long jacket with cape-like design, and pants adorned with subtle, dark grey embroidery. Black gloves encased her hands, their form-fitting design accentuated by tiny, glowing blue runes that mirrored the mask's design.

As the unknown warrior stood tall, her presence commanded attention, her aura exuding a mysterious, unsettling essence that whispered secrets to the shadows. The atmosphere around her seemed to vibrate with dark, intense spiritual energy, as if the very fabric of reality was being reshaped by her enigmatic presence.

Lyraea, still masquerading as a goddess, slipped unnoticed into the Li Family stands, her eyes fixed intently on the battle unfolding before her. Her gaze was piercing, her mind racing with the implications of this mysterious warrior's presence. Who was this enigmatic adversary, and what secrets lay hidden behind her mask?As the enigmatic opponent stood before her, Ling Yin's curiosity got the better of her, and she queried, "Who are you?" However, her question was met with an unsettling silence, as the mysterious warrior chose to maintain her anonymity. The match commenced, and the two combatants clashed in a spectacular display of martial prowess.

Their abilities appeared to be eerily similar, yet the unknown warrior's cultivation power was unmistakably superior, its intensity causing the grounds to tremble and generating formidable gusts of wind. The air was electric with anticipation as the crowd watched in awe, their whispers and gasps punctuating the air.

Lie Renwo and Mei watched with bated breath, their faces etched with concern as they prayed for Ling Yin's safety. Meanwhile, Lyraea observed Lie Renwo from her vantage point, a hint of melancholy flickering across her face.

As the battle raged on, Ling Yin stumbled, her body crashing to the ground as she coughed up blood. The unknown warrior hesitated, her back turned to Ling Yin, and in that fleeting moment, Ling Yin seized the opportunity to launch a powerful punch, striking her opponent with tremendous force. The mask shattered, revealing the unknown warrior's identity, and Ling Yin's eyes widened in shock as she exclaimed, "Ling Yu!"

The crowd's collective gasp echoed through the air, their faces agog with astonishment. "Twins!" someone whispered, as the murmurs spread like wildfire. "How is this possible? They're not from the same family!" Mei and the Xiao Family elders rose to their feet, their faces pale with shock.

Lie Renwo's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with the implications. "I should have told Mother about what I saw earlier," he muttered to himself, his voice laced with concern. "Ling Yin is in serious trouble now."

As the unknown warrior vanished into thin air, the arena fell silent, the tension palpable. The head of the Ling Family, Patriarch Ling Tian, slammed his hand onto the armrest, his eyes blazing with indignation. The announcer's voice boomed, "The winner of this tournament is Ling Yin from the Xiao Family!" The Ling Family erupted into a chorus of protests, their voices rising in unison. "This is a travesty! She cheated!"

As Ling Yin stood amidst the turmoil, her face etched with remorse, a sudden arrow hurtled towards her. Lie Renwo's reflexes kicked in, and he teleported to Ling Yin's side, catching the arrow mere inches from her face. Mei's voice thundered through the arena, "Who dared to attempt such a heinous act?" The crowd fell silent, their faces frozen in fear, as Master Wáng's enigmatic smile seemed to hint at a deeper conspiracy. As the tournament proceedings were temporarily suspended, Lie Renwo ushered Ling Yin to a secluded backyard, his expression a mixture of curiosity and amusement. "Ling, why did you conceal the fact that you and Ling Yu are twins from Mei?" he asked, his voice tinged with a hint of playful reproach.

Ling Yin's countenance was etched with a mixture of embarrassment and remorse. "I should have confided in you first," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

Lie Renwo's eyes sparkled with mirth as he chuckled. "I already knew, Ling," he said, his voice dripping with amusement.

Ling Yin's eyes widened in surprise, her face a picture of incredulity. "What? How?" she exclaimed, her voice rising in astonishment.

Lie Renwo's grin broadened as he recounted the events of that fateful day. "Do you recall the day your sister visited the Xiao Family residence and entered your chambers? I happened to be in the vicinity, and I witnessed the entire encounter. I concealed myself at the entrance, listening intently to your conversation. When she hurled a pin in my direction, I deftly dodged it. That evening, I teleported to the space beneath your bed and spent the night there."

Just as Lie Renwo finished his tale, a voice thundered from behind, "You did what?!" Lie Renwo and Ling Yin turned to behold Mei's irate visage, her teeth grinding audibly as she struggled to contain her ire.
