Chapter 15 - Chapter 170: Story of The Strongest Dragon Slayer

This was a case of a quarrel between husband and wife, with the sister-in-law benefiting.

"Little Rose, brother-in-law, why aren't you speaking? Do you not like talking?"

"No... Sister, as long as you're happy...", Rossweise said.

"Oh, oh, alright."

Isa held the little baby in her arms and gently rocked it back and forth, "Little baby, how about coming with auntie to the Red Dragon clan? Auntie won't get married or have children in the future, so a hundred years from now, you'll be the next Red Dragon Queen~"

"Big sister, hold on a second!", Leon quickly interrupted. If he didn't say something now, his precious little daughter might really get taken away by Isa in just a few words.

Isa gave him a sidelong glance and pouted, "Tch, just joking, look how scared you are."

Isa placed the baby back beside Rossweise and then exhaled as if relieved.

She straightened up, crossed her arms over her chest, and examined her younger sister and brother-in-law.

Rossweise was lying in bed under the covers, and Leon was sitting at her bedside pillow. The couple looked strangely harmonious.

Isa's gaze moved back and forth between Rossweise and Leon before finally stopping on Leon's face.

Leon glanced left and right, then scratched his forehead, "What is it, sister?"

"I didn't expect you to be a hidden expert, brother-in-law."

After bonding with her precious niece, it was time to get down to business.

"Uh... Sister, what do you mean?", Leon had a bad feeling and decided to play dumb first.

"Oh, come on, brother-in-law, you managed to kill Constantine, no need to be so modest."

Isa turned to look at her sister again, "Little Rose, didn't you tell me before that Leon came from a now-dissolved, insignificant dragon clan, and that he was frail and sickly? Didn't he fall into a coma less than a month after your marriage?"

Rossweise averted her gaze, a slightly awkward smile on her face, "Y-Yes. Leon's health... has always been poor, right? Hmm? Right? Say something."

Under the covers, she nudged Leon's butt with her elbow.

Leon nodded repeatedly, "Yes, sister, my health is not great. I've been taking medicine recently."

"Medicine? What kind of medicine?"

"Well... I've been taking... uh...", Leon's brain raced, rapidly recalling the names of various dragon medicines.

But under the intense pressure of Isa's red eyes, he panicked and blurted out—

"Dragon Kidney Tonic!"

Isa took a sharp breath, then shook her head slightly, "A common dragon from an insignificant clan, even if you ate all the Dragon Kidney Tonics in the world, it would still be impossible for you to kill a Dragon King like Constantine. Besides, Little Rose was pregnant, she couldn't have helped. Why were you taking a kidney tonic?"

She pressed step by step, with logic and evidence.

Rossweise clutched the blanket tightly and pulled it up over her face.

When facing her sister's interrogation, avoidance was shameful but definitely useful.

'Everything is left to you, my dear husband!'

Isa looked at Leon with a slight smile and asked slowly, "Tell me, brother-in-law, who exactly... are you?"

Noah and Luna, who had stepped aside to watch the drama, were thinking, 'Amazing, absolutely amazing. Auntie Isa is still on the attack!'

Leon's octa-core brain was running at full speed, weaving possible explanations in his mind.

But even with his CPU nearly overheating, he couldn't come up with a perfect excuse for how a weak dragon who married into the Silver Dragon family could have killed the Crimson Flame Dragon King, Constantine.

Leon secretly clenched his pants, his palms sweating from nervousness.

Honestly, he wasn't even this nervous when he first stepped onto the battlefield. In a way, his sister-in-law was more terrifying than Constantine.

The secret of his and Rossweise's fake marriage could never be exposed.

His identity, his past, his entanglements with Rossweise—if any of it was discovered, it would be devastating for their "dragon" family.

Just because Isa was Rossweise's sister didn't mean he could lower his guard.

In fact, it was precisely because they were sisters that if she found out Rossweise had married a human, started a family, and even had three daughters, Leon couldn't guarantee that a pure-blooded dragon like Isa would accept it.

He had no bargaining chips to gamble on this.

If he won, great—everyone would be happy.

But if he lost... what would happen to their daughters?

How would they see their father? How would they accept that they weren't pure-blooded dragons? Would their future be filled with doubt and scorn?

There was no way to predict these things. Someone as cautious as Leon would never make a reckless gamble.

"What's wrong, brother-in-law? Is that question hard to answer?"

Isa smiled, but her gaze became sharper and more scrutinizing, "It's just a simple self-introduction."

It wasn't unreasonable for Isa to be suspicious. After all, it had been three years, and her knowledge of her brother-in-law was entirely based on her sister's words.

She didn't think Leon had ulterior motives toward Rossweise. Anyone could see how deeply they loved each other.

Whenever they looked at each other, their gazes were filled with affection, to the point of being sickeningly sweet.

Isa wasn't sure if they realized it themselves, but she had eaten enough of their public displays of affection.

Still, she kept pressing Leon for an answer because she wanted peace of mind.

Maybe her brother-in-law was just hiding his true identity to avoid enemies—common in dragon society.

But whatever the case, as Rossweise's sister, she needed to know something.

Leon sat stiffly at the bedside, feeling like he was sitting on needles. Every pore on his body was tensed with anxiety.

He secretly glanced at Rossweise, who was lying beside him.

She clutched the blanket tightly, covering her nose, with only her beautiful silver eyes peeking out.

Her left eye said "innocent." Her right eye said "clueless."

'Damn it, are you seriously acting cute right now?'

The couple exchanged silent eye signals.

Leon: 'Teammate, teammate! Help me out!'

Rossweise: O M O

Leon: Senior Rose, why are you just watching?

Rossweise: 'I can't help you. I've never won against my sister. You're on your own.'

Leon: 'Fine, if that's the case, I might as well go all in.'

Rossweise: '?... You idiot, what are you planning?'

Leon: 'Slaying one dragon is slaying, slaying two is just a habit. Sorry, sis, but today—'

Rossweise: 'Stop joking, idiot! You have five seconds to come up with an excuse, or my sister will assume you have ulterior motives against the Silver Dragons.'

Leon: 'She wouldn't be wrong. Three years ago, I did have ulterior motives toward your Silver Dragon clan...'

Rossweise: '...'

She pulled the blanket over her face again.

"Brother-in-law, my patience is limited—"

"Actually!", Leon suddenly sat up straight, puffing out his chest.

Isa crossed her arms and raised her beautiful eyebrows, "Actually?"

"Actually... I have had a dream since I was a child," Leon's tone was passionate and filled with 'devotion.'

Isa was stunned, "No, no, brother-in-law, I don't want to know your dream. I'm asking—"

"I dreamed of meeting a very special dragon when I grew up."

Hearing this, Rossweise quietly peeked out from under the blanket, curiously looking at Leon.

Curious about what kind of story he would come up with.

Isa's posture changed from crossing her arms to one hand on her chin and the other on her waist.

'This brother-in-law of hers... just how much nonsense does he have stored in his head?'

"We would meet in a special place and get to know each other in a special way."

"We wouldn't plan our future in detail, letting everything flow naturally, waiting for surprises in a peaceful life."

"I longed for a wonderful married life with her, undisturbed by anyone."

"In order to fulfill this dream, I traveled throughout the dragon race, crossing countless mountains and rivers."

"Just when I was in despair, lost in darkness, I met her."

As he continued to spout his nonsense with deep emotion, Leon lowered his head and looked at Rossweise, his gaze full of affection.

"My destined one, the fire of my soul, my eternal love, Rossweise."

"It was you who saved me from the darkness; it was you who let me feel the warmth of home."

"I swear I will protect you for a lifetime."

"If anyone dares to harm you, I will personally send them to hell. Even if the opponent is as powerful as a god—like Constantine—it would make no difference."

At the same time, the queen's inner monologue: 'Even though I've already given birth to a daughter, why do I still feel like throwing up...'

The couple stared at each other.

Leon's gaze was deep, affectionate, and ambiguous.

The queen looked extremely disgusted but had no choice but to play along.

Clap—Clap—Clap—

Isa slowly began clapping, "So touching, so loving, what a destined fairy tale romance."

Leon secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

He hadn't expected that this hastily made-up nonsense actually worked on Isa. This was probably all thanks to his ten months of prenatal education efforts.

To help his precious daughter absorb the essence of human culture, he had practiced poetry recitation for a long time.

'Ah, traveling the world, having multiple skills is never a bad thing!'

However, before Leon could completely relax, he saw Isa suddenly withdraw her fake expression of being moved. Her face turned cold as she said, "But you still haven't answered my question, brother-in-law. I don't want to know how you fell in love with my sister. I want to know your background and history."

Leon's eyes darted around as he organized his words and replied, "Sis, actually, my answer was already in that story just now. To protect Rossweise and fulfill my promise, I fought desperately to become stronger, relentlessly pursuing power. The suffering I endured, only I know."

He sighed, patted Rossweise's hand, and continued solemnly, "But all the pain was worth it. At the very least, today, I have truly protected my wife and daughter. Don't you think so, sis?"

Isa clicked her tongue lightly.

Her brother-in-law had talked a lot, yet somehow said nothing...

So, should she keep pressing him for answers?

Would it seem impolite to continue questioning?

"Sis, Leon is truly dedicated to this family. He would never hide anything from me. I know him well," Rossweise also stepped in at the right moment, "I understand your concerns, but I guarantee that Leon absolutely loves this family."

Isa sighed silently, "Alright, I still don't know how exactly you managed to kill Constantine, but judging by how in sync you two are as a couple, maybe I really was overthinking it."

Isa looked at Leon, "At the very least, you really are taking your promises seriously."
