Chapter 11 - Seeds of the Crying Worlds

A World Searching for Balance

-

After the cosmic transformation that followed the merging of the gods, the features of the new world began to take shape—like a dream searching for its identity. Villages made of golden glass floated above liquid clouds, rivers of black light flowed between mountains, and giant trees had roots made of shadows and branches formed from fragments of memories. At the heart of this creative chaos, the new village of Qinlu resembled a pearl in a cosmic shell. Its homes were built from breathing stone, its walls from colored mist, and its children played with immortal butterflies of light.

But the balance was fragile. On the horizon, where copper skies met glass earth, black cracks appeared—bleeding crimson liquid... as if the universe itself suffered from unhealed wounds.

-

The First Awakening: The Remembering Statue

In the center of the village, where the river of light met the Memory Tree, stood a golden statue of Lang Xian, proud and tall. But something had changed: his ancient gray eyes now glimmered like gemstones—one blue as the forgotten sky, the other black as the heart of night. On nights when the eastern wind blew, the statue whispered in a dead language, heard only by Jin, the boy with heterochromatic eyes.

Jin: (touching the statue's base, where carvings tell the tales of former worlds)

"Do you know how much I missed you? Even a shadow needs a companion."

Suddenly, a glass tear fell from the statue's blue eye, turning into a golden butterfly that fluttered toward the black cracks on the horizon.

-

The Strangers' Arrival: Past Efforts Never Die

The next day, a group of strangers arrived in the village. They wore robes of extinct dragon hide and carried spears made of luminous bones. Their leader, a tall woman with a single green eye, introduced herself as Kira, chief of the "Time Shamans" tribe.

Kira: (with a stare that melted the mist)

"We're searching for the Golden Wolf... the new world bleeds from old wounds."

Jin, eavesdropping from behind a glass pillar, felt a strange pulse in his black eye. Memories from past worlds seeped into him: Kira had once fought alongside Lang Xian in a previous life... and was killed by his hand.

The First Revelation: The Universe's Wounds Need Ancient Blood

In a secret cave beneath the Memory Tree, Kira revealed a horrific truth to Jin:

"The black cracks are gateways to dead worlds trying to return. To seal them, we need the blood of the remembered... the statue's blood."

But extracting the blood meant destroying the statue—and releasing what remained of Lang Xian's soul.

Jin: (his hands trembling on a ritual dagger Kira gave him)

"But he may be the last piece of him left… will I erase him forever?"

-

Night Confrontation: Friends or Foes?

That night, under a black moon cloaking the village in dim light, Jin sneaked toward the statue. But a hybrid version of Lang Xian (with one golden eye and one black) suddenly appeared, like a ghost rising from the mist.

The Hybrid: (in a voice like an ocean's echo)

"The blood you seek… is the same that will bring back the darkness."

Before Jin could respond, shadow-wolves erupted from the black cracks, attacking the village. Kira and her tribe fought fiercely, but the beasts multiplied each time one fell.

-

The Fateful Choice: Blood from the Past

Under siege, Jin chose the unthinkable. He drove the ritual dagger into the heart of the statue, and a blinding golden light exploded. Golden blood poured like a waterfall, not in vain—it transformed into a swarm of golden butterflies that surged toward the black cracks, devouring the monsters' souls and lifting them to the sky.

Kira: (wounded, bleeding from her arm)

"You… did it?"

But joy was brief. The golden statue began to disintegrate into dust, and at its center emerged Lang Xian's semi-transparent soul, holding in his remaining hand a single golden butterfly.

-

Final Dialogue: The Wolf and the Butterfly

Lang Xian: (gazing at Jin with eyes reflecting all worlds)

"Butterflies don't live long… but they leave behind seeds."

Jin: (his tears turning to black diamonds)

"Don't go… I haven't learned how to live without a shadow."

But Lang Xian's soul began to fade. In the final moment, he tossed the golden butterfly toward one of the black cracks, sealing it forever.

-

Open Ending: The Beginning of the Hidden War

With the rise of a new sun in a color never seen before, Jin discovered his black eye now held a golden star. Kira and her tribe departed, leaving behind a map showing the remaining crack locations.

In secret, Jin saw something no one else did: a black shadow resembling Lang Xian emerged from the last open crack, carrying a broken butterfly...

-

And in a distant village where new worlds are born, a woman resembling Lian Hua heard a whisper in the wind:

"The old blood seeks new vessels… and the game is not over."
