Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 – The Fall of Viktor Nova

Introduction – How Did Viktor End Up Here?

Mere hours ago, Viktor Nova had been wandering through the ruins of Moscow, a city reduced to nothing but ash and silence. Burned-out cars littered the streets, buildings crumbled like forgotten memories, and corpses lay scattered—a grim testament to a world that no longer existed.

As he searched for shelter, scanning for any signs of life, a sudden explosion shattered the eerie silence.

The shockwave sent him flying.

His body crashed onto the cold concrete, his vision blurred from the impact. Just before losing consciousness, he caught a final glimpse:

A group of men in black suits approaching him… and among them, a familiar face.

Nikolai Dragunov.

Back to the Present – The Confrontation

Location: A collapsed building's underground chamber, dimly lit and suffocatingly silent.

Viktor awoke, strapped to a cold metal chair, his body aching, wounds fresh. In front of him, seated with a smirk and a cigarette between his fingers, was Nikolai Dragunov.

Nikolai (smirking): "Finally awake? I was beginning to think the explosion had done you in."

Viktor met his gaze with icy silence. No fear, no panic—just quiet calculation. His mind worked rapidly. How do I get out of here?

Nikolai: "Do you remember the last time we met? You had me locked away like a rabid dog."

Viktor remained silent.

Nikolai: "You ruined my life, Nova. And now, I intend to return the favor."

A blade glinted in Nikolai's hand as he traced its edge along Viktor's throat.

Nikolai (calmly): "But before we get to that… let's take a trip down memory lane."

Flashback – The Year 2031, The Beginning of the Rivalry

Five years earlier, Viktor Nova was one of Russia's most influential men from the shadows. Nikolai Dragunov, however, was the President's Chief Advisor.

Nikolai: "Join me, and I'll make you the most powerful man in Russia."

But Viktor wasn't a fool. He had no intention of becoming a puppet for a power-hungry politician. He walked away without a word, leaving Nikolai seething with rage.

Quietly, Viktor gathered irrefutable evidence of Nikolai's betrayal and handed it over to the President.

The result?

Nikolai Dragunov was sentenced to life in prison.

Back to the Present – The Battle in the City

Suddenly, Viktor lunged forward, driving his knee into Nikolai's chest.

Nikolai (grinning): "Still got some fight in you, huh?"

Before Viktor could land another strike, guards rushed in. But Viktor moved like a predator, dodging swiftly, disarming one of them in a flash.

Gunfire erupted.

One guard fell, another backed away. Viktor broke free from his restraints, but before he could escape—Nikolai struck from behind, driving a blade into Viktor's shoulder!

Pain shot through his body… but something else stirred inside him.

The Awakening – ZY Takes Over

Viktor's breathing slowed, his eyes darkened to a deep crimson.

A cold smile curled his lips.

ZY had awakened.

ZY (calm, menacing): "Finally… time to have some fun."

In an instant, the pain vanished. ZY moved like a ghost—inhumanly fast and brutally efficient.

With a single punch, he sent Nikolai crashing into the wall, cracks forming in the concrete.

Nikolai coughed up blood, horror dawning in his eyes.

Nikolai (weakly): "W-what… are you?"

ZY approached, resting a firm hand on Nikolai's shoulder, leaning in close.

ZY (whispering): "I am the hell you came looking for."

Without hesitation, ZY snatched Nikolai's own knife, raising it high for the final strike.

But in a desperate move, Nikolai pulled a hidden blade and drove it straight into Viktor's right eye!

The Critical Moment – Losing an Eye

A sickening stab.

For a moment, Viktor froze. His breath hitched…

Then came the scream.

But this wasn't ZY's scream.

It was Viktor's.

His knees hit the ground, blood pouring down his face. The crimson glow in his eyes dimmed. Control was his again—but at a terrible cost.

Viktor (groaning in agony): "Y-you… bastard…"

Meanwhile, Nikolai lay lifeless, his face twisted in terror, blood pooling around him.

Conclusion – Setting Up the Next Chapter

Viktor sat on the cold ground, clutching his bleeding eye, his breath ragged.

The pain was unbearable, but he knew one thing—the battle wasn't over.

He had lost an eye… but he hadn't lost the war.
