Henry walked until he reached a store called Tailor Shoppe. This seemingly simple shop had a tailor responsible for creating outfits for the world's greatest superheroes, including designing his own. Henry had told his aunt a long time ago that he wanted to be like her, so he asked for a suit, and she brought him here, where he designed the suit himself, based on memories from his past life. His powers were similar to Superman's, so he thought it was a good idea to make his suit look similar.
Henry walked into the store and found Art Rosenbaum at the counter. He was sewing a custom suit for someone. Art had gray hair, short in length, and wore simple tailor clothing. His face showed signs of aging. As far as Henry remembered, he was very close to the Graysons.
Henry walked in and greeted Art:
"Hey, Art, how's it going?"
"Well, knowing you and your aunt, I don't think you came all the way here just to ask that."
"Art, you know me so well," Henry said, sighing.
"Alright, I'll see what I can do for you, but I'm busy with another order right now. Yours will have to wait."
"It's fine with me."
"Follow me."
Henry followed Art to the back, where they went down a staircase. They arrived in a dark, open room with several tables. The room had all sorts of technology for creating suits, along with various sewing equipment.
"So, what can I do for you, Henry?"
"Art, I want you to make a few changes to the suit you made for me."
"What kind of changes?"
"I want it thinner so I can wear it under my clothes. It's really inconvenient to put it on and take it off. Also, I'd like the material to keep its resistance."
Art placed his hands on his chin and started thinking.
"I don't think that'll be a problem. Come with me."
Henry followed Art to a table. On the table, there were different kinds of fabrics.
Art picked up a piece of fabric from the table.
"Check this fabric out. It's almost as resistant as the material I used for the other suit, just a bit less durable. However, it's much thinner."
Henry touched the fabric in Art's hands.
"You're right. Do you think this will work?"
"I believe so."
"Anything else you want me to change?"
"The cape."
"I see. It's pretty inconvenient. Don't you think it's better to take it off?"
"No, I like the cape. The cape is awesome."
Art grabbed something to drink and sat in a chair.
"I'll see if I can come up with something for your suit. Maybe a device on the back that makes the cape appear automatically, but I'm not sure if I can do that. A lot of heroes have the same problem. I've been thinking of a solution for a while now..."
"Thanks, Art. You're the best," Henry said, rushing out.
"Wait, I haven't said I'll make it yet. Ah, this kid is like a copy of Holly."
Henry returned home, put on his old uniform, and waited for his aunt. While he waited for her to take him to the GDA for the first time, he received a message from Ned and decided to chat with him a bit.
' I'm going to the GDA for the first time today."
"That's awesome, man. You've got to take me there to see the heroes."
"Maybe one day, Ned, who knows? I don't have all that power yet. What are you doing right now?"
"I'm programming a game."
"No way! You really know how to do that? That's amazing, Ned!"
Ned blushed a little from the compliment.
"A little, I don't know much."
Henry thought it would be a good idea to program something to make money. If he made some cash programming, he wouldn't have to 'borrow' things from the GDA. He could just buy the parts himself and build it.
"Ned, come over tomorrow. I've got an idea for a game we could work on together. You in?"
"Of course!"
Henry was already thinking about the easy money he'd make and remembered the many simple games from his past life that generated millions of dollars that didn't exist here.
"My idea is this, Ned: you and I are going to get rich! Hahaha!"
"Alright…"
Henry laughed, imagining everything, even before doing anything. Mojang, Supercell, and many other companies. All their games would be mine.
His aunt Holly had already arrived and was waiting for him.
"Ned, I have to go. We'll talk later."
"Alright."
Henry went downstairs and out to the backyard of his house. He saw his aunt, dressed in her suit. The backyard was surrounded by a fence, so no one could see them.
Holly" are you ready?"
"I was waiting for you."
"I was a bit busy handling some things, but now I'm here."
They flew into the sky, unseen by anyone.
They headed for the GDA.
The GDA headquarters was located in the Pentagon.
They entered. There were several guards and armed soldiers. Holly, or rather War Woman, as they entered, Henry could only notice the security and structure of the place. The walls were thick, made of resistant metal, and the corridors they walked through were high-tech. He walked with his aunt through the corridors, passing by different rooms, until they went deeper into the GDA, where Holly led him to Cecil.
He was in a room, with a viewing panel showing a training room with various machines. In this observation room, there were two other people with Cecil. One of them was Donald, Cecil's assistant, and the other was Red Rush, who was wearing his classic uniform.
Henry approached them with Holly.
Holly",I brought him, Cecil."
"Great, Holly. I appreciate it. And it's a pleasure to meet you, Super-boy."
"The pleasure is mine. I heard you wanted to see me."
"Yes, that's true. But changing the subject, let me introduce you. This is Donald, my assistant. You can ask him anything. He'll show you the whole place, don't worry about bothering him. And this is Red Rush, you've probably heard of him."
"Yes, who hasn't heard of the Guardians…"
"Exactly. He'll be responsible for your tests."
"Tests?"
"Yes, we'd like to know what you're capable of. After all, we don't want to put you in danger when we send you on missions. Besides Red Rush, we've prepared some other things to test your powers."
Henry thought about what Cecil said about being concerned for his safety, and he found it pretty fake. He thought that Cecil probably just wanted to know how strong he was and whether he was a threat to Earth. They probably wanted to see if they could handle him. They must've done the same with Nolan when he first arrived on Earth.
"Sure, I don't mind."
"Great. I haven't asked, but are you a Viltrumite? You're obviously not human."
"I'm not a Viltrumite… I don't know what that is."
Cecil frowned.
"Are you sure? Your powers are very similar to those of a Viltrumite I know."
Henry decided it was better to lie. He didn't know if Nolan knew about Kryptonians, but it was safer not to say anything.
"Well… I'm not human, but the truth is I don't know where I'm from. I grew up on Earth, so I consider myself human. I would never harm this planet or the people on it."
Cecil analyzed what the boy said. He felt like Henry was telling the truth but couldn't tell what part of what he said was actually true.
"I believe you. Red Rush, go in and test the kid. Is that okay with you, Holly?"
"Of course, but take it easy, Cecil."
"Of course, I would never hurt him."
"And if I pass the test?"
"We'll talk about that later."
