Chapter 25: Revelations

Sam was floating.

Her body felt weightless, as if reality itself had dissolved into the sheets of her bed. Every muscle in her body hummed with warmth, the kind of perfect warmth that came after something absolutely incredible.

She didn't move.

She couldn't move.

Her limbs refused to cooperate, too spent, too relaxed. She was drunk—not from alcohol, but from the sheer euphoria coursing through her veins.

Breathing deeply, she stared at her ceiling, a hazy smile tugging at her lips.

Goddamn, Jon.

Her fingers lazily traced the fabric of her sheets, still trembling from the lingering aftershocks. Her entire body felt like it had melted into the mattress, utterly boneless.

She had never felt like this before.

Not once.

It was as if her past experiences had been a cheap imitation of what had just happened.

Jon had ruined her. Completely, entirely ruined her for anyone else.

And she loved it.

A slow, satisfied sigh escaped her lips.

Beside her, Jon lay on his back, just as relaxed. His breathing was steady, his body still warm against hers. She turned her head slightly, taking in the sight of him—his dark, messy hair, his sharp jawline, the slight smirk still lingering on his lips.

Cocky bastard.

Sam's heart clenched.

She was so screwed.

This wasn't just attraction anymore. It wasn't just fun or excitement.

This was him.

Jon, in all his perfect, ridiculous glory.

And she was completely, hopelessly into him.

She turned away, trying to calm herself, when her eyes landed on—

Oh. No.

Panic shot through her.

Right there, pinned to the wall, was her massive Evangelion poster.

And not just that.

Figures. Manga. A carefully organized stack of Blu-ray box sets.

Her Sailor Moon plushie sitting proudly on her bookshelf like a mocking pink witness.

Her entire room was a nerd shrine.

Oh, god.

Her blood ran cold.

She had forgotten.

Jon had never been in her room before, but in the excitement of the situation hopefully he'd not actually notice all of this.

But now—

She dared a glance at Jon.

He was following her gaze.

His eyes landed on the Evangelion poster.

Then the bookshelf.

Then the shelves lined with collectibles.

Sam froze.

Her stomach twisted into a knot as old memories crashed into her—

Middle school.

Her friends finding out about her anime obsession.

The teasing. The looks. The comments.

"That's so weird, Sam."

"Why are you into that cartoon Japanese stuff?"

"You're not one of those weird anime nerds, are you?"

She couldn't go through that again.

She squeezed her eyes shut, bracing herself. The awkward silence. The hesitant Oh... followed by polite indifference. The way people suddenly looked at her differently.

But then—

"That's a cool Evangelion poster."

Sam's eyes snapped open.

Jon was still looking at it.

He wasn't laughing. He wasn't teasing.

He looked... interested.

Sam's brain stuttered. "Wait. What?"

Jon glanced at her, then back at the poster. "Looks really good. Evangelion's a classic."

Sam just stared.

She could not process this information.

Jon knew Evangelion?

Not only that—he liked it?

Her heart pounded.

Slowly, she swallowed. "It's… one of my favorites. I went through a lot of trouble to get that poster."

Jon nodded, clearly impressed. "I can tell. It's high-quality."

He sat up slightly, scanning the rest of the room. His eyes landed on her bookshelf, trailing over the rows of manga.

"You read One Piece?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

Sam hesitated, still not entirely sure this was real. "Yeah."

Jon smirked. "Good taste."

Something inside Sam melted.

She hadn't realized how much she needed this reaction.

Jon accepted it.

Accepted her.

Without hesitation.

She felt a surge of something intense, something overwhelming.

Before she could stop herself, she grabbed Jon's wrist and yanked him down.

Their lips crashed together.

Jon made a surprised noise but quickly recovered, his arms circling her waist as he kissed her back just as hard.

Sam poured everything into it—every ounce of relief, gratitude, and the sheer want that had been simmering beneath the surface.

Jon responded immediately, his grip tightening as he pulled her closer. His fingers tangled in her hair, and a shiver ran down her spine.

The kiss deepened.

Sam's heart pounded.

Jon moved, rolling them so she was half beneath him, his body warm and solid against hers. She gasped into his mouth as he pressed closer, his lips hot, demanding.

She needed more.

Her hands slid down his back, fingers gripping, nails lightly scratching.

Jon groaned against her lips, and that sound—

That deep, rumbling sound—

Sent a wave of heat through her.

She pulled him closer, her breath hitching as he kissed down her jaw, her neck—

This was dangerous.

Sam barely had the presence of mind to think, I should stop, but her body had no intention of listening.

Not when Jon was kissing her like this.

Not when he was looking at her like she was the only thing in the world.

She wasn't stopping.

Not yet.

Jon pulled back slightly, breathless, his forehead resting against hers.

His blue eyes met hers, dark with something undeniable.

"Sam…" His voice was low, rough.

Sam smirked, running a hand through his hair, tugging slightly.

Jon shuddered.

She grinned. "Shut up and kiss me."

And just like that—

They were lost again.
