Chapter 6 - False Danger

(Yuji pov)

Just like that, time flew quickly. It had been two months since Mitsuki moved back to her place. When I came back from work, my condo was back to normal. Instead of her, there were only robots moving around, cleaning up the place.

As for us, we still kept in touch. Sometimes, I visited her place too. Maybe I should visit her later? A couple of beers and some snacks might be good.

"Keuk! I swear to god! I have no idea where Master actually is—gah! My thro....at!"

Currently, I was working. I went to an abandoned factory in the middle of a cornfield in Chiba. I was gripping a man's neck with my hand, looking for leads on AFO through his men. But that guy was good at hiding. It wasn't an easy job because AFO wasn't just focused on Japan; he also had influence worldwide.

Ring! Ring!

An awkward silence fell between me and the guy I was interrogating.

"The fuck—ackk!"

I tightened my grip on his neck as he dared to ruin my ringtone.

I had especially made a ringtone just for her calls. That's why the man I was choking looked bewildered when he heard it.

"Speaking of the devil." When I saw who was calling through the HUD, I actually smiled beneath my helmet. "Yes?"

[YUJI! IT'S AN EMERGENCY! I need your help!—]

"Don't worry. I'm on my way."

When I heard her desperate voice, I almost crushed this man neck. But for sure, she needed help.

I ended the call, and the man I was choking was gone—reduced to atoms when I used Decomposition on him. It was then that a couple of men rushed into the room. Some came empty-handed—must be Quirk users—while most carried rifles.

"Where is he, you fucker?! Do you wish to die here?!"

I stood up, turning my body toward them. But surely, I had no time to fight them one by one.

With my foot connected to the floor, I scanned the whole building in no time. I detected 10 men in this room, 15 outside the door, 30 on the second floor, and 70 more on the first floor blocking my way out.

[Decomposition]

I erased all the columns on the first floor and some of the columns beneath me on the second floor. The whole building began shaking. It was then that I shot the 10 men who were too busy processing the situation. Once they were gone, I quickly jumped, shot a metal string, and hooked onto the falling concrete chimney. I managed to land safely before the chimney eventually collapsed, destroying the entire factory—with all the men inside.

I wasn't reckless either; they just died from an accident.

"Hey, what is going on, Senpai?"

Tsutsumi Kaina looked confused. She had been my sidekick for a long time before the Madam decided she could handle her own missions. But for this mission, they said it was better to bring her.

A woman with long purple-pink hair tied in a ponytail, she wore a sleeveless dark jumpsuit with leggings, a protector around her shoulders and knees. I could see the questions in her eyes as she watched how I had finished the mission.

"Change of plans. I have something to do. You go back to HQ and report to the Madam," I said, entering my car and leaving her behind.

(Mitsuki pov)

A few moments earlier.

It's been a while since I saw him. Well, we both live separately now. And I've been thinking that at some point, we'll stop sending messages and become complete strangers! That's not gonna happen, right? But the last time I saw him was a month ago!

"Mitsuki-san, do you have a boyfriend now?"

"What? Kuhum! Of course not."

"Hehe~ Don't lie to me. You're easy to read, you know?"

I was on a break and having lunch with my close friend, Haruka. Handling these brats as a pre-school teacher really drains my brain! Gah! I wanna go to the casino and have fun! And what the heck is she asking me that question for, dammit?!

"I don't have one."

"Hey, how about bringing him to the high school reunion? I think everyone will be shocked to see him! By the way, what does he look like?"

"WHAT, NO! Like hell I'll bring him to that place!"

"I see that you have a boyfriend after all." She smirked at me!

But… don't we look like one? After all, I was technically cleaning his house, cooking his food, going to the groceries, and living under the same roof before. We also did couple stuff like going to the movies, eating at good restaurants, and things like that.

Damn it. He's the guy I hit with my bike, so what the hell is happening?! Anyhow. Haruka was already convinced that I had a boyfriend, so WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?!

The question is… do. I. have. one? The answer is no. Is he actually my boyfriend? No, either. Damn it, this is why I hate normies and this pointless reunion! They just want to bully others because they think they've achieved more! Fuck them.

"Hah... Haruka, recently, I learned that he's actually something else. Like, he's out of my league."

"How? Wait, who's your boyfriend again? Don't tell me he's a Pro Hero?"

I sighed. "Let's say he's like that. Someone who has achieved something in his life. It's ironic because, my parents told me that I should get a man who is their equal, even though I really don't care about it. But… it's me who doesn't."

In this world, who doesn't know that smart and rich person, Taurus Silver? Especially in Tokyo, where I see FLT's tall building every day. But Taurus Silver is just a nickname because the person never appears in public. And I learned that it was Yuji all along.

Now, it makes sense why he lived in that apartment and why All Might and Endeavor casually came over for dinner. It makes sense because he's one of the richest people in the world!

Also, why did Lady Nagant knock on his door the day after the dinner? I'm a big fan of hers. But that time, she asked me, "Who are you?" in a cold way. When I told her that I was his girlfriend, she just said, "Oh," and left!

"Umm..." Haruka looked sympathetic, while I was the pathetic one. "I think that's okay as long as he likes you, right?"

"Yeah, yeah, I know, Haruka. It's not that simple."

"Well, since you said that, it makes me curious what kind of man he is. Make sure to bring him because I already told our classmates that you finally have a boyfriend."

"WHAT?! Why did you do that to me?!"

This bitch.

I went to the ladies' toilet, sat there, and tried to call him.

[Yes?]

Finally!

"YUJI! IT'S AN EMERGENCY! I need your help!" I know you're busy, but just say yes.

[Don't worry. I'm on my way.]

"I-if you don't mind, that is... Huh? That's not what I meant!"

Damn it. He cut off the call before I could explain it.

Just like that, time passed.

But then, I noticed there was a commotion in my class when I went to take something from the faculty room.

"Ah, you're back, Mitsuki. Look who just arrived!" Haruka said brightly. There, a man is holding a book, reading it to the kids. While they, mostly the girls actually not focusing the books but the one who read it!

"Ahem! What are you doing here?"

As I said that, everyone turned to look at me. Yuji closed the book with a loud snap and then exclaimed, "Alright, have a good sleep, kids."

"Yes, Mister!"

"Mister, mister! You're so handsome! Can I marry you someday?"

"Of course not. Bakugo-sensei over there will be mad at you."

I dragged him out of the class because it was embarrassing to see Haruka giggling the whole time. When we finally got out of the building, we found a quiet spot at the back. As we both leaned against the wall, I wondered why he rushed here because of my stupidity.

"Seriously, you really came here?"

"You said it was an emergency, so what is the emergency?"

"Damn it." Seriously, I think I like this guy! "That's not what I meant."

"Then spit it out."

"Hah... Nothing urgent, actually. It's just that Haruka said I need to take you to the reunion. But you're busy, right?"

"When?"

"It's on December 7th. It's fine. I was just going to pass on it like last year and the year before that."

"That's fine. We can go."

"For real?! Kuhum! I mean. Well then, make sure to come, alright? My friend already told everyone that you'll be there."

He simply nodded! Normally, we'd be fighting like cats, but it's surprisingly peaceful. Yeah, it's peaceful. We watched the schoolyard, the falling leaves dancing in the wind. Stupid me—I forgot my coat, and the wind was freezing. But then, he placed his coat on my shoulders, making me really WARM! Because of it, I unconsciously leaned my head on his shoulder.

Damn, I think I really love this guy.

"Were you in the middle of something before?"

Yuji didn't answer me for quite some time.

"Yuji?"

"It's nothing to worry about."
