Nathan's POV
I had messed up. I knew it, and only heaven knew what awaited me.
The guards dragged me through different corners of the mansion, my feet scraping against the cold marble floor. My heart pounded as we finally stopped in front of a door. Derrick pushed it open and stepped inside, and before I could react, I was hauled in after him.
The moment I entered, I realized it was a study. A huge brown desk stood in the corner of the room, stacked with neatly arranged files and a laptop. Bookshelves lined the walls, filled with old books and documents, giving the space a formal and intimidating aura. The scent of polished wood and leather filled the air, but none of it mattered to me—not when I was about to face Derrick's wrath.
The guards shoved me forward, making me stumble before I regained my balance. I clenched my fists, forcing myself to stand tall despite the fear creeping into my bones. I had messed up, and there was no escaping the consequences.
