Chapter 26 - 26 The Covenant

The next time I met Baron was after the Christmas holiday.

During the ten-day holiday, Avada was always a little uneasy. The only thing he could do was to go to the Room of Requirement every day to confirm Professor Baker's condition and make sure that nothing else happened

Finally, after seeing the palm-sized parchment that Baron brought back and the few lines of rough terms on it, Avada finally made a puzzled voice:

"Is this the absolutely comprehensive contract' you mentioned?"

  "Oh, this is the catalog."

Baron said calmly, then stretched out his wand and gently touched the parchment, and it "banged" and became thicker out of thin air. Then Baron unfolded it, unfolded it, and unfolded it again...

Finally, a piece of parchment as big as a carpet was spread out in front of Avada, and the fine and dense small words on it made his scalp numb at just a glance. Under the magical senses, the magic structure contained in this contract is so stable, huge, and complex that it is many times more than the contract he signed in the Department of Mysteries.

"In addition to daily housework, my house elves will also participate in some family business matters - because they are absolutely loyal and will not leak secrets, even Legilimency and Veritaserum will not work, so some of them have studied magic contracts very deeply. With my supervision, there should be no problems. Read it once."

"You have several house elves in your family?" Avada was a little surprised: even the old nobles such as the Malfoy family and the Black family only have one elf!

  "Yes, is there any problem?"

Baron was a little surprised why Avada asked such a question, and then pushed the contract to Avada, urging him to read it quickly. And Avada had to lie on the ground in despair, turned a feather pen into a magnifying glass, and began to read it carefully word by word - there was no other way, in order to ensure the integrity and firmness of the magic contract, usually a contract can only be carried on one piece of paper.

It took him several hours to finish reading the contract. When he looked up, he felt a flash in front of his eyes and almost lost blood in his head.

The contract imposed all-round restrictions and constraints on Professor Baker's identity, experience, behavior, subjective goals, and many other aspects: if Professor Baker could meet the requirements that he had never intentionally harmed innocent people since he became an adventurer, and that what he needed Avada and Baron to do was not too dangerous for them, and would definitely not harm anyone other than Professor Baker and the "fake Baker", and that after completing the goal, he would not threaten, silence, delete or modify memories, and other behaviors that harmed Avada and Baron... and so on, then this contract would not harm Professor Baker in the slightest.

Correspondingly, the contract also imposed certain restrictions on the behavior of Avada and Baron, such as not actively disclosing things that at least two of the three people believed to be "not to be spread" without permission, and that they should do their best to help Professor Baker achieve his goals before he escaped and under controllable risks.

The full "carpet" of explanations and restrictions made the entire contract watertight. Once signed, there was no room for loopholes or using the rules to achieve purposes beyond the agreement.

Avada felt that even if the Horcrux diary came, as long as he signed this contract, Avada would help him take over Voldemort's body!

So, on the night when Avada finished reading the contract, he and Baron returned to the Room of Requirement and presented it to Professor Baker.

  Half an hour later.

  "I've finished reading it."

I don't know if it was an illusion, but Professor Baker's voice seemed a little tired, and even his mental strength was a little weak: "It's very detailed... No, it's too detailed. Even those black wizards who specialize in contract fraud can't come up with such detailed clauses!"

"Very good, shall we start now?"

Professor Baker said briskly, and at the same time, blue starlight began to appear in the black crystal ball, as if it contained a universe. Avada also sensed that Professor Baker's mental power was being projected onto the contract through the crystal ball, and was quietly waiting for the two.

Baron held his breath and stared at a complex and wonderful rune on the contract. Under the guidance of the rune, his mental power was also projected onto the contract, overlapping with Professor Baker's mental power. Seeing this, Avada followed suit and projected his own mental power onto it.

Suddenly, the parchment glowed brightly, and a powerful and strange magic power surged from the inside of the contract, directly entering their spiritual bodies along the mental power of the three people, and leaving an undetectable mark. Once one of them had the intention of violating the contract, the mark would warn the others; and if someone actually violated the contract, they would be directly hit by the backlash of the mark.

Avada and Baron's marks were fine, and the backlash would only cause them to suffer heavy damage; but the backlash on Professor Baker's side was enough to kill him!

Feeling the magic imprint firmly embedded in his mind, Avada couldn't help but sigh that the mental imprint contract was indeed powerful. Even he, who had magical senses, couldn't think of a way to crack it for a while!

As the light on the parchment gradually faded, Avada, Baron and Professor Baker all breathed a sigh of relief, and the whole person (ball) obviously relaxed - they are now a team that can trust each other.

"Now that the contract has been signed, we can finally communicate with confidence and say some things openly."

Professor Baker's tone revealed obvious lightness: "Mr. Ken, Mr. Shafik, your magic level has long exceeded the level of the first grade, right?"

"In order to confirm how to formulate the most suitable plan for you, please show me your strength completely and without reservation."

"I have mastered all the spells, transfiguration and defense against the dark arts knowledge from grades one to three." Baron spoke first: "In addition, I also master two black magics, one is a variant of the freezing spell, and the other can quickly recover any physical injuries, but it will have serious backlash after a few hours."

"You also know black magic?" Avada glanced.

"My family taught me that it's not safe for me to be outside alone."

Avada suspected that there was a prophet in the Shafik family - most people believed that Hogwarts was the safest place in the whole of Britain, and it was indeed the case before Harry Potter entered the school.

  "As for me,"

Avada also began to narrate: "In addition to all the magic from grades one to three, I also master the Shield Charm, Stun Charm, Confusion Charm and Obstacle Charm. In addition, I have a mental link magic that allows me to communicate with others directly in my mind."

  "Very good!"

Professor Baker was overjoyed: "Your strength is still above my expectations! This means that the 'other me' will be less vigilant against you, creating a lot of convenient conditions for you!"

"Fortunately, you two discovered me. If it was other wizards who were not young but not strong, I might have to spend a lot more effort..."

"Then let me tell you about my plan. If you have any questions, you can also raise them. I can adjust them according to your needs - anyway, the surplus you left for me is already very large."
