Before she could shoot, yell or even react, Mika felt her arm being pulled and then lifted by her hips by big callused hands with an iron grip.
"Hey! Stop! We can't just abandon him with that criminal! We gotta help him!" She was hitting his forearm and pushing it with all of her might that she didn't had, she was a little bit sedentary.
"Don't waste your thoughts on him, he can handle himself." Even though he absolutely couldn't stand that dancing clown, it was clear that he wasn't someone that could be struck down easily, they do say idiots are persistent after all.
"Darn it, but we can't just leave him there all alone! Together we can capture that woman whoever she is more easily!" That wasn't a bad idea per se, but something way more concerning than having to aid that moron was at hand in this very instant.
"There are 4 of them, they started beating the gate guards with their bare hands when they arrived. If that is correct, they probably won't actually kill anyone as far as we are concerned, and more, she did say they were after me..." Finally coming to a stop, Elias looked both ways across the street before he put Mika back down and he looked up at her face as the gears in her head started grinding.
"So let's find the other 3 first and get them to speak." Mika opened her mouth and nodded, tapping her point finger against her chin as she looked across the street and saw some blonde guy wearing no shirt walking towards them both.
'Dammit, how come i came back to where i've put my jacket! I didn't just move left!' Kicking away a rock, he watched it fall to the ground when someone picked it up mid air, which finally made him pay attention to his surroundings.
He lifted his head ever so slightly as he checked out the profile of the guy that had just thrown a rock at his face, his left cheek felt hot as he rubbed it with his hand.
Reaching for his pocket, he took out a photo that he was given to remember how that guy he was supposed to take looked like, and behold, the guy charging at him with a sword in hand was exactly who he needed to kick down.
"How lucky!" He said as the sword was about to connect in a vertical sweep against him, with the back of his closed he made it be pushed away without even touching, faint light green circular patterns were visible for a second before Elias was pushed back, momentarily losing balance.
And in that moment, Duke clutched his hands together, took a step forward while bending his knee, and hit Elias with all of his might right in the chin.
While Elias was up in the air and wondering why he didn't just send a letter so this dreadful day wouldn't happen, a fireball fizzled with power right at Duke, he dodged it by cartwheeling to the right.
When his feet touched the ground, a yellow power surged around Duke, his hand was lifted to the air as a beam of bright light was fired at the sky, making a loud whistling like sound as it flew away, and when it reached a certain altitude, it blew away in a ball of bright red and green lights as a booming sound was heard all around the village.
"What the...!?" Mika got startled with the sound of this weird spell, when she looked back at the ruffian that fired it, he was jumping right at her face with a open hand raised right above his head.
"Iron Wall!" She said in a panic, her left open hand trying to protect her head with its open palm.
A loud thud was heard, and Duke was hopping back away from Mika with his hand being furiously waved up and down, his whines of pain sounding just like the fizzle of the fireball shot at him.
"Dammit, underestimated her...!" He was rubbing his hand away while looking at her, a transparent silver square floating away at a distance right where he was hoping to hit her neck.
Of course, she couldn't match his raw strength but she more than made it up to it with her spells. Still, she was breathing heavily and trying to calm herself down as she also looked back at him with a defiant look, determined to not back down against any of them.
Duke wasn't so sure how much he should hold back against this woman since he was the least trained of all of the rogues, pretty much still a novice when it came to real combat. He didn't want to hurt her too badly since it seemed like the misunderstanding was still going on.
But before he could open his mouth he had to raise his hand at his left to stop a sword to pierce right at his stomach, the red eyes of this guy annoyed him because he felt like he would be much more work than they thought.
"What do you want with me?" Elias pushed his sword with more force
Duke's open hand, but it seemed like the sword was trying to cut through a block of pure steel.
"Sorry, wasn't paying attention when they said why." Elias was pushed back and lost his balance again, the green light still in the air as Duke winded his arm back and tried to hit Elias right in the gut, but he rotated his sword and was able to defend himself, the sound of the hit was kinda dull.
Right when he was about to rush towards him and try to overwhelm his target with a rush of fast-paced hits, that guy side stepped and run towards the girl that was now charging something that crackled in a ball of energy pointing to him at the tip of her finger.
"Volt Needle!" The zap of electricity was shot right at his stomach, intended to just stun him when connected.
However, Duke crouched very close to the ground and the spell ended up just hitting a lamp post that was some distance away, it lighted up right after.
"Darn it!" Elias was now right at her side and with his offensive stamce ready, and so, Mika decided to also prepare to be of any help by also getting into a stance that would help her to fire the spells more quickly.
