Aurora walked into the board meeting with Delacroix and the air in the boardroom changed. Everyone held their breath.
She smiled when she swept her gaze across the room, and saw that they were all present. The men who once stood against her — who laughed when Richard stripped her of her shares and buried her beneath forged documents — now sat at the table, staring at the woman they thought they'd erased from existence.
She walked in with quiet grace, dressed in black. The moment she tries to bury anything, she wears this colour and right now, she just buried her heart.
Her heart only comes back around Seraphina, and people who deserves it.
When she pulled out Richard's seat and sat at the head of the table, it was no longer an act of defiance. It was a declaration of power.
"Good morning, gentlemen," Aurora greeted, crossing her legs as her cold gaze swept across the room.
"Shall we begin?"
Silence.
