"Heave! Ho! Heave! Ho!" The Jolly Men chanted in unison as the landship slowly inched forward.
They're really like a hivemind… These thoughts couldn't help but fill Bane's head as he felt the ground beneath him gently shake, the landship was picking up speed.
His thoughts eventually drifted from the Jolly Men's uniform chanting to his current mission. Solivar and the Seer known as Mal-Shanse had both said the same thing, Elanor, his sister, was in some sort of danger.
Bane was by no means a stranger to the fact that his sister was cursed. He might even be the most knowledgeable person when it came to the curse as he was there the night it was inflicted. It was also the reason he had left home, to find a cure.
Sigh, I still remember the night perfectly. The curse was inflicted when we read those words.
Blessed womb of the forgotten, blessed Mother of all. Blessed ruler above law and order, blessed lover of Horror.
Right after we read those words…Bane didn't finish the thought, worried it might open an old wound he had hoped to close.
There should be an answer in Gaesha's Endless Libraby… The thought was reassuring, knowing that all the knowledge the world had to offer could all be found in one place. It made him think, why hadn't he thought of looking in the library for a cure to his sister's curse?
Wait… What library? When he tried remembering the place he was headed, it seemed like the information wasn't there. He didn't know where he was headed. His heart seemed to beat a little faster at the sudden gap in his memory
Ganesha's Library! The thought came back to him when he carefully tracked his train of thought. How had he forgotten?
His highly skeptical brain immediately got to work. Bane rarely forgot things, especially things he had just been thinking about.
When was the last time I thought of that library? When was the last time I even thought about Gaesha?! He questioned, his alarm slowly grew. The last time he had thought of Gaesha was a stray thought of it when he first left home. The same could be said for any news of land, he hadn't heard about it in what seemed like years.
Wasn't I supposed to gather information about it? Why did I head straight to the village office?
It was as if pieces of a puzzle Bane couldn't solve were slowly falling into his lap. If he didn't actively think about it, any thought of Gaesha and its library seemed to slowly slip from his mind. This effect was intensified the more he tried to think about it.
There's something special about Gaesha. What was it? I mentioned it earlier… Monsters, yes! The city-village hybrid is surrounded by monsters.
Ending his train of thought immediately, Bane switched his focus to ensure the amnesia didn't intensify. Putting as little thought as possible into his actions, the Inhumane Butcher pulled a small knife from his cloak and engraved a few words into his skin,
Gaesha.
Library.
Monsters.
The words bleed while the Butcher looked at them in confusion. He remembered engraving them into his arm but couldn't seem to figure out why.
