Chapter 17 - Chapter 17

Tiffany and Kaylee were driving for a good while, listening to music and chatting here and there. Over time, Kaylee felt her spirits lifting up more and more.

She didn't want to be gloomy about this ordeal, and she surely didn't want to be bothered the entire time. She forced herself to become upbeat.

Though she felt she had to do that around Tiffany a lot of the time. After all, their arguments whenever they ended were always Tiffany getting her way. She was like a toddler.

" Ugh, finally we are only just a few minutes away from this place. " Tiffany remarked, as Kaylee gazed out the window.

They passed by several trees, wildlife areas, and farms. It was as if they were going on a road trip again. Kaylee loved the silence now and then, as the sun was setting.

" I can't wait to see my boo-boo! " Tiffany shouted happily, as Kaylee chuckled a bit at Tiffany's upbeat and lively attitude.

No matter how much shit she said about Bradley, she would always run straight back to him. Kaylee, Justin, and Mark didn't know if Tiffany knew the words ' self-worth and value. '

It seems to be far too lost on her, or perhaps she just simply knew that she could get any man she wanted. Considering the majority of the college sororities males liked her, it wasn't surprising.

This is why Kay didn't comprehend why she'd waste her breath, energy, and money on Bradley when he didn't deserve it. Kay only could assume that what others said was true.

Love makes you do crazy things.

Kaylee looked down at the GPS and shook her head as Tiffany glanced over as she drove. Watching as her friend did so, Tiffany gave a puzzled expression.

" What? " she asked.

" ... Didn't you say you and Bradley came down here like a bunch of times... I can't believe you need a GPS to get here. " Kaylee mocked a bit.

" Look. It's been a while alright! " Tiffany quickly replied in an embarrassing tone. To which Kaylee felt amusement towards her tone.

The girls eventually arrived at the party and were met with loud music, a ton of vehicles, and people continuing to walk into the lakeside beach house.

Kaylee measured her surroundings with her brown eyes, trying to get a feel for the place, meanwhile, Tiffany smiled and pumped her fist at the anticipation.

" Whoooo ! " she shouted aloud as her window was raised down. Other seniors turned their heads wavy and cheered along with her as they headed down the ramp toward the party.

Kaylee felt her heart pound a bit, as Tiffany parked the car and turned the car off. Kaylee realizing she was indeed here, would step out of the car along with Tiffany.

The two girls would look around and then at one another as Tiffany went to the truck of her car. " Help me grab this stuff, we can't leave it in here. " Tiffany told Kaylee.

She eventually turned around and went to assist her friend with bags that had food, snacks, and drinks inside. The girls walked down the wooden ramp, as Kaylee looked at the house.

She had never seen something so big, and also something see-through. The beach house was glass-mirrored and had magnificent windows that provided the perfect view of the lake.

Kaylee also noticed people setting up campfires and having a volleyball net, along with beer casings, coolers, lawn chairs, and stereos. She felt like she had gone to a spring break beach party.

The music itself was drowning out a lot of conversations that she couldn't hear. Kay gradually caught up with Tiffany who was still walking to the house.

" You think Justin and Mark are inside? " Kaylee asked her, as Tiffany shouted back.

" I'm not sure! But if I know our dorky friends I'd say yes," she replied as she entered the house, passing by a couple of students drinking.

" The real party has arrived!!!! " Tiffany screamed as people cheered aloud, and Kaylee walked directly in behind her.

The scenery itself of the house was gorgeous, and expensive. From the marble walls, tables, and the lava lamps. Kaylee felt like she had walked into a celebrity home.

Tiffany's dad was a big international entrepreneur, who had multiple businesses around the globe. He had a couple of beach lake houses around LA and decided that Tiffany could throw a party at one.

So long as no one broke anything, or he'd pull the cruise trip that Kaylee, Mark, Justin, and her were all planning to go on. Kaylee knew this, which is why she felt that all these people would probably get her into trouble.

Though Tiffany was an animalistic party person, and when she also started drinking and dancing it was almost impossible to calm her down.

" This house is insane. " Kaylee said with a bit of a chuckle, as Tiffany smiled and shrugged a bit heading to the kitchen.

" It's okay, my dad has like a bigger house that's a beach house, and right by the beach. He said if I dumped Bradley I'd be able to get it. "

Hearing that Kaylee couldn't help but comment on it with a grin.

" Sounds like a win-win— you get a beach house and get to dump that loser too. "

Tiffany rolled her eyes at Kaylee, as she started to take out the food and other items from the bags she had brought. Kaylee put down the bags herself and started to assist.

After some time, the girls looked at one another as Kaylee felt her phone vibrating. Tiffany walked over and looked to see who it was as well.

" Hey, it's Justin. " Kaylee said aloud, as she picked up her phone to answer him. However, she couldn't hear him, as when she did— a couple of students blasted music throughout the house.

Kay grunted with annoyance, as she made her way further and further from the music as much as possible. Finally, she was able to hear Justin not perfectly but clearly enough.

" Yeah, we're both here, we're downstairs in the kitchen, where are you guys? " Kaylee replied to him.

" We upstairs, I'm with David, Mitch & Casey, but Mark I think went outside to go do the bong game. " Justin replied.

" The bong game? " she questioned.

" Yeah the bong game— where people gather around and see how much you can drink from a keg. "

" That's the stupidest thing in the world... " Kay remarked with her head shaking a tad bit. Her eyes darted around as she was on the side of the house.

Seeing a bunch of students everywhere she looked, as she could even see the top of the hillside where Tiffany and Kaylee came down from.

Although she saw more students coming down, Justin replied with a laugh at her remark. Hearing in her ear as well, coughing, and inhaling as she squinted her orbs down a bit.

" Are you smoking? " Kaylee asked Justin.

" Huh? " he asked her question, as Kaylee sighed knowing he had heard her the first time.

" I said! Are you smoking? " Kaylee said tossing her head back up to see if more students were coming down, but only one stood up at the top, as she immediately stared at him.

Noticing that the male she was staring at was Ivaander.
