Toby went out the car first and as I was about to open my door but he quickly rushed to open it for me and for some reason this time I did not cringe but slowly got into my role, playing his girlfriend.
He reached out his hand to gently escorted me out and as he was doing that we heard someone whistling from the back and we immediately turned to see who it was and Toby was ready to curse out whoever that may have been but stopped when he realized who it was.
"You didn't tell me she was this thick", he went on to show me his sly smirk. 'eww' I thought to myself, that was a weird thing to say and very pervy.
Toby went to grab him by the collar of his shirt very tightly, "Watch your fucking mouth or else I will make you!!", he said while giving him a deadly glare. I got goosebumps watching all of that happen in front of me.
I never had a guy defend me let alone threaten someone so I was very shocked at how things quickly escalated from here. I'm just gonna ignore him like I do with all guys and pretended like I never heard him to begin with and not that I am okay with what he said but as a shy person and a bit insecure I always want to avoid conflict at all cost. The whole situation made me wanna go home and change into my sweatpants.
"It's a joke dude, no need to get violent when we are having such a good time right, T-oby ", he chuckled and raised his hands up to show he meant no harm. I guess he's one of his friends or just someone he knows judging by how he knew his name
"Well I don't like the joke you made, especially when it comes to my girlfriend and wipe that stupid ass smirk off your face". He was pissed off, even I got intimated by him. He turned to look back at me and his glare soften and he had a smile on his face while approaching me.
"Don't mind what he said, he's just an idiot and an asshole too. Come on let's get inside", he grabbed my hand and we left the guy standing there like a statue because they put him in his place and I'm sure he regrets everything.
My hands started sweating as I got butterflies in my stomach, 'what the HELL Sage calm yourself down and why am I all of a sudden so nervous around Toby' I felt like mentally kicking myself I feel like I am acting very strange and I don't want him to notice.
"Are you fine?, your hands are shaking" , he stopped walking to make sure I am okay.
"I'm fine, just nervous as always", I gave him a shy smile. I need to get it together otherwise I will lose my mind overthinking shit as always.
We got inside the house and the first thing that hit me is the a strong smell of sweat and it was not pleasing but I acted like I didn't notice it. "Damn, how do these people survive in this smell " Toby said out loud and I wasn't surprised because that's just how he is, a very straightforward person with no remorse whatsoever.
"TOBY!!! over here, you finally made it and now the real fun can begin". The voice came from a guy coming downstairs, he was tall with dark black hair and very slim. I wonder what he meant when he said the real fun can begin when people are alrighty lit and fucked up at this point.
I guess we just have to find out and judging by how Toby got so excited it could only mean trouble and I'm just here to witness everything. 'Great', I sighed.
The house was already fucked up when we got there and what more can happen to make this night even more "fucked". I looked at everyone and nobody was staring at me as I imagined and I realized that nobody gives a shit and everyone is here to have a good time and I'm probably sure that they don't even notice me. 'Damn, nobody gives a two fuck about me and I was out here worried. HECTIC.'
"EVERYONE, LISTEN UP OUR GUEST OF HOUNER IS HERE!!!!". The guy shouted to the crowd. Everyone cheered for Toby or should I say "Us" since we were in the spotlight and it was intimidating not gonna lie.
Toby whispered in my ear saying, "Don't freak out, just stay close to me and you can hold my hand whenever you feel overwhelmed". I just nodded.
"Glad you could make it man, the party would have been boring without our 'Famous' guy", he chuckled. He looked at me with a frown and then smiled at me as if he was trying to process why I was here at this party.
Toby cleared his throat before speaking, "Danny, this is Sage and Sage this is Danny my best friend and the person responsible for this party since it's his house and stuff ". I looked at Danny not knowing what to say to him so I just kept quiet and waited for him to say something first.
"I like your glasses, they look cute". He gave me a cute smile and then turned his focus on his best friend and they started talking about the things they were gonna do tonight.
I felt butterflies in my stomach because he thinks my glasses look cute and even though I'm only wearing them because of my "boyfriend" and I don't have problems with my eyes but still this meant a lot to me. I don't know if his best friend was also part of our skim of the whole 'fake relationship' because Toby forgot to mention the part of 'she's my girlfriend'.
Maybe this party was not a bad idea and the fact that all these guys look good for "highschooler" it's impressive. Toby held me by my hand and we went outside and to a ping pow table and it had a lot of cups with different colors and each set had a tag on it.
"Since yall just got here, it is time to get lit like everyone else now pick a cup of your choice". I looked at the tag and chose the red one which wrote Taken/ In a relationship on it.
I could easily noticed that everyone had different cups but I did not know that each one had a meaning to it . There were two other sets besides red which is blue and white. Blue for complicated and obviously white for single. 'I wonder if Danny is single or not and not that I care and stuff'. Yep I was lying to myself of course.
"NOW EVERYONE GATHER AROUND WE ARE ABOUT TO PLAY A GAME". The people gathered around to witness what the game is gonna be. I don't know about Toby's reputation and stuff but he must be a big deal for everyone to stop dancing and gather around the big rectangular table.
"Now before we began I would like all guys to respect the young lady with Toby because she is his GIRLFRIEND". Danny wanted everyone to know and some people were not pleased, mainly girls but I could care less because I don't know them. I guess the question I wondered about earlier has been answered, in public too.
After that was said, five guys came to the table with coolerboxs which had a tan of alcohol inside and they all looked expensive as fuck. Everyone was cheering and chanting "LET'S GO!" .
I just held Toby by the hand because it was loud asf and he said that I could hold his hand if I got overwhelmed but then suddenly I felt like Danny was gonna see us and even though he knows that we are dating, well nobody knows the truth expect for us so it felt wrong for me.
"Sage.....??", someone from behind said my name and I got startled because I didn't think no one knew me, 'maybe there is someone who has the same name as me because ain't no way they are calling me'.
I turned around slowly and you would not believe who I saw.
