Klaus got his guards to bring some doctors from the nearest wolf pack even if it meant threatening them, and now four wolf doctors surrounded Lisa, who lay unconscious on the bed.
"How come they have a wolf?" one of the doctors whispered to another, who shrugged his shoulder after carefully examining Lisa's face.
"I must admit that she looks very familiar."
"No more whispering, let's get this over with and negotiate our freedom," the youngest doctor, who was in charge, butted in before he approached Lisa and was about to place his hand on her forehead when a hoarse voice echoed.
"Don't touch her."
The doctor jolted and took a step backward. "But I…" he was explaining to Klaus, whose eyes turned red; the doctor swallowed the lump that had formed in his throat and took a step backwards.
"As you wish."
This was the first time they got to meet the demon king, and if all the rumours about this man were true, then they definitely didn't want to be the ones offending him.
"Since she suddenly went unconscious and we are not allowed to touch her, I will simply make some tea for her, and I am sure she will be awake after drinking that," he explained, and Klaus's fist clenched, his long nails digging into his palms.
"The tea she shall drink." He turned on his heel and walked out of the bedroom as he had an emergency meeting with the elders.
Klaus walked down numerous doors before he finally stood in front of the huge door leading to the courtroom. The door pushed open, and on the left was Beckam and her maids; on the right was Maradona, who looked all pale; and the centre edge was occupied by the elders.
"Why an emergency meeting?" Klaus questioned, and an older demon stood up… He was Vorgath, Maradona's older brother.
"We heard you got married to a wolf girl," he started, and Klaus nodded as he ascended the throne; he already expected the meeting was for this and gave it to Vorgath for creating a mountain out of it.
"Forgive me, but I did a full background check on this wolf girl; she is trouble for us and must leave as soon as possible." Vorgath added, and Klaus's gaze shifted to Maradona, who had a pleading look… He knew Klaus could hurt her brother for everything he said, and she didn't want that.
"We agree with Vorgath; this girl was Alpha Davin's mate… and we know wolves are nothing compared to demons, but not the Alpha of the pack… he might start a war that won't end well," another elder backed up Vorgath's point.
"If you want more wives, your highness, then we will get them for you… Just name what type of demon you want, and she will be here right now. But we can't sit back and watch you marry a wolf… That's not just a disrespect to us, the elders, but also to every lady of the legion," Vorgath soothed out with gritted teeth and decided to stay quiet to get Klaus's point.
"Vorgath," Klaus called, his presence building a strong tension around the hall.
"I had my men watch you the entire day, and you didn't leave the legion… So how did you get information about my wolf wife?" Klaus questioned; he always had his doubts about Vorgath, and now was his opportunity to catch him.
Of course it's okay for the elders and also his wives to leave the legion whenever they wished, but it was against the law for them to send their men out of the legion without the King's order.
Vorgath stuttered and moved his gaze to his sister, wishing that she would get him out of this situation like she ever does. "As expected," Klaus snorted before hearing some hurried footsteps towards the courtroom.
His gaze diverted to the main door, where he spotted Lisa, who stood there bare-footed. She ignored everyone present and hurried towards him. "You…you need to get me out of this place." She fell on his feet with a pleading look.
Earlier, she had woken up and found the wolf doctors who got curious and asked from which pack she was from and if she needed help to escape this place.
Once she told them that she was from the Winterwater pack, they felt bad for her and told her they couldn't help her now as the Alpha of this pack was very sick and on a sick bed. Now all she cared about was Davin; she had to see him.
"No one will try to harm you anymore." Klaus assured her, but she shook her head in denial; she just wanted to leave.
Then she got an awkward feeling and moved her gaze behind, where she spotted some other demons, and she could feel hatred coming from every one of them; they all hated her so much.
"If she wants to leave, then shouldn't you be fulfilling her wish?" Vorgath questioned, and Klaus threw a dagger look his way before he stood up and pulled Lisa up.
"" Come"—they both walked out of the courtroom and headed to his chamber before he moved his finger to his cloak, ready to pull it off and expose his face—before Lisa took a step backwards.
"Don't…please don't." She already knew what was behind that mask, and fuck…she would lose consciousness if she got to see it one more time.
"Lisa Moonstar," Klaus called, and she cleaned her tears.
"You made a deal with me, so why do you want to leave?"
"Wait…did you hurt Davin?" Lisa had her doubts; was Klaus the one who made Davin sick or what?
But she shook her head in denial; Davin was an Alpha…the most powerful Alpha amongst every Alpha, and it would be nearly impossible for Klaus to easily approach him, talk less of hurting him.
"I need to go back to my pack," Lisa added with folded arms.
"You were rejected," Klaus reminded her; he just didn't have the guts to let her go… not after he already had her face occupying his mind.
"Yes, but Davin loves me and will never hurt me. Now he is sick and needs me; I could feel it," she added, and Klaus's fangs grew. The next thing she knew, he was standing behind her, and all the hair in her body was at attention… She never felt this scared in her lifetime.
