"So this is it," Sloane muttered as she looked around the room. She wasn't sure if she was going to miss the room considering all that's happened while she stayed here.
"You are officially packed, M'lady!" Estelle declared with a triumphant sigh as she dropped the last of Sloane's dresses into the trunk. "Everything's folded, sorted, and exactly where it should be. Even your weird snack stash."
Sloane arched a brow from where she sat on the bed. "Weird snack stash?"
"You have a suspicious amount of honey sticks, M'lady. I don't judge, but… really?"
Sloane snorted softly, shaking her head. "Thank you, Estelle."
Estelle smiled back at her. "You don't have to thank me for doing my job, M'lady." She bent down, holding the bags. "Come on now, the driver waits for us."
"Us?"
The maid's face softened. She straightened and walked over, her tone gentler now. "M'lady, surely you don't think I'm going to stay behind and leave you all by yourself."
Sloane shook her head, "No, but…"
