"I'm a faceless man, and I'm going to eat you! Cough..."
The faceless man groaned and slowly moved towards them.
"This is no fun. Let's go ahead and ignore him," Jang scoffed, unimpressed. She grabbed Lingy Luo's hand and led her forward. Yango chuckled at the sight and followed along.
"Hey! Don't leave me here!" the faceless man called out, but seeing that no one paid him any attention, he sighed in defeat. "Forget it, I'll just sit down and rest."
The next room was a wide passageway, shrouded in darkness with only a faint, eerie glow illuminating the path ahead. Through the dim light, a few familiar ghostly figures could be seen—Bullhead and Horseface, two traditional underworld guardians, swaying slowly from side to side. As soon as the group approached, the figures emitted a mechanical growl.
"How dare you enter here! I shall consume your soul!"
"Tch, this looks fake," Jang sneered. Without hesitation, she rushed forward and kicked Bullhead hard in the stomach.
"ARGH!" Bullhead let out a grunt of pain.
Jang's eyes widened in shock. "Wait a second... that wasn't a sound effect." She took a cautious step back. "Don't tell me... this is a real person?!"
"No way!" Guo Defat said, scratching his head. "That old man earlier mentioned there was a staff shortage. This should be just a well-made animatronic, right?"
Curious, Guo Defat stepped forward, leaned in close, and gave Bullhead's face a firm tug. The skin stretched unnaturally, pulling outward several centimeters.
"See? It's fake! No reaction at all!" he declared triumphantly.
What they didn't know was that Bullhead and Horseface were none other than Black Tiger's lackeys, Chicken and Hair, who had sneaked in through the back entrance to ambush them. Chicken cursed his luck—he had been waiting for Yango to come closer so he could strike, but instead, this crazy girl had rushed up and assaulted him first!
"This is hilarious! The material is so lifelike!" Jang exclaimed, yanking Bullhead's skin even further.
"Owww...!" Chicken winced, holding back his screams.
Lingy Luo, feeling emboldened by Jang's fearless attitude, decided to join in. She reached out and pinched the other side of Bullhead's face, stretching it further.
Chicken was on the verge of tears. His mouth was being pulled so wide that he couldn't even protest. Meanwhile, Hair, who was disguised as Horseface, silently rejoiced. At least he wasn't the one being tormented.
"I am Bullhead, and I shall devour your souls..." Chicken whimpered in a shaky voice, trying to stay in character.
Jang huffed. "This prop is lame. It just keeps saying the same thing over and over. Hey, why isn't the Horseface guy talking?"
She finally let go of Bullhead's face, giving Chicken a momentary sense of relief. But that relief was short-lived.
"Yango, stand back and watch me!" Jang grinned mischievously.
Lingy Luo obediently stepped aside. Jang took a few steps back, then lunged forward, delivering a vicious kick straight to Bullhead's crotch.
"WAAAAAHHHH!" Chicken let out an agonized scream before crumpling to the ground, unconscious.
"Hah! I took out a ghost! How awesome am I?!" Jang cheered, pumping her fists in victory.
Guo Defat looked at the collapsed Bullhead, scratching his head. "Uh... you don't think you broke the prop, do you? It's not moving anymore."
Lingy Luo frowned. "These realistic props must be expensive. What if we get in trouble with the amusement park staff?"
"Pfft, what's there to be afraid of?" Guo Defat waved a dismissive hand. "Scary attractions like this are made to be sturdy. People probably take swings at them all the time. Besides, our tickets weren't cheap! They should expect a little wear and tear."
Jang cracked her knuckles. "Alright, time for this ugly Horseface to get his turn!"
Inside the Horseface costume, Hair was breaking into a cold sweat. Chicken was down for the count, and now this maniac was turning her attention to him. He wanted to fight back, but the situation was dire—if he attacked now, Yango and the others would gang up on him and take him out. Worse, Yango had already seen their faces earlier, and if they were exposed, Black Tiger's plan would be ruined.
"YAAAH!" Jang roared as she wound up and punched Horseface directly in the stomach.
Hair's vision went white from the sheer impact. His entire body trembled, and he struggled to stay upright. In his mind, he screamed, Why the hell did we even take this job?!
