Black Squad – Episode 65: "Rafiqa"
— "Some wounds bleed without ever breaking the skin."
---
[Opening Scene – Crime Branch HQ, Rainy Morning]
The envelope lies untouched on the corner of ACP Qazi's old desk. The wax seal is a broken olive branch.
Murshad sits silently. The weight of the last episode still hangs in his eyes. He finally opens the envelope.
Inside:
A faded photo of a woman in a blue shawl standing in a burned house.
A crumpled paper with a police case number: #17 – Rafiqa Begum
A note:
"You buried her screams with a bribe. Time to listen again."
---
[Scene 2 – Briefing Room]
Zoya (confused):
"Case #17? That's… from the days before Black Squad was even formed."
Imran (searching records):
"Rafiqa Begum. Widow. Lived in Bhendi Bazaar. Filed a complaint about a corrupt officer who seized her house and had it burned down. She went missing a week after filing."
Murshad (slowly):
"That officer was Inspector G.S. Purohit. He died in Episode 16… the warehouse ambush."
Arjun walks in, grim:
"Maybe he took more to the grave than we thought."
---
[Scene 3 – Flashback / New Truth]
Through digital archives, the team pieces Rafiqa's story:
Her son was taken by the system.
Her land was stolen for a private construction scam.
Her cries for help were dismissed, her FIR rejected.
Days later, her house was set ablaze — she was presumed dead.
But the twist?
There's no death certificate. No body ever found.
Murshad (clenching fist):
"She didn't die. She disappeared."
---
[Scene 4 – Ground Investigation Begins]
The team heads to Bhendi Bazaar. The area has changed — new buildings, new faces — but some old wounds never heal.
They track a laundry shop owner who once helped Rafiqa hide.
Shopkeeper (nervous):
"I don't know where she went. But… someone used to drop envelopes at the dargah every Friday. Envelopes with her handwriting. Letters never posted."
---
[Scene 5 – The Dargah Sequence – Emotional Core]
Rain falls softly as the team enters the old dargah.
Inside, in a secret donation box, they find over a dozen unopened letters. Each one addressed:
"To my son, if he ever returns."
The team sits in silence as Murshad reads them one by one:
> "I am alive, beta. But I'm not the same. They burned everything but couldn't burn hope. One day, they'll see my name again…"
Zoya wipes her eyes. Even Arjun looks away, shaken.
---
[Scene 6 – The Architect's Interference]
The Architect sends a voice note:
> "You were too late to save Qazi. Don't fail Rafiqa.
She's alive. But time's cruel. She's one wrong step from justice—or suicide."
A CCTV ping from a local women's shelter identifies Rafiqa.
She's still in the city. But someone's been following her.
---
[Scene 7 – Tense Chase Sequence]
Night. Rafiqa walks through the market, clutching a bag of food.
A dark figure stalks her.
The squad arrives — Zoya and Arjun split, Murshad and Imran go through rooftops.
Chase ensues.
Rafiqa's stalker tries to corner her in a dark alley.
But bang — a warning shot. Murshad steps in.
Murshad (to the stalker):
"You're not the first man trying to silence her. But you'll be the last."
They arrest the man — a construction goon hired by Purohit's old partner, now a politician.
---
[Scene 8 – Emotional Reunion & Justice]
Rafiqa is brought into the HQ. She walks slowly. Her eyes — exhausted yet proud.
She looks at the Black Squad team, tears brimming.
Rafiqa (softly):
"He said someone would come. ACP Qazi. He promised."
Murshad hands her the box of unopened letters.
Murshad (emotional):
"He couldn't come. But he sent us instead."
They reopen her case. The new politician is exposed. Rafiqa's land is returned.
Her son — tracked down after years — now an adult, returns from Hyderabad.
They embrace.
No words. Just tears.
---
[Final Scene – Qazi's Grave – Twilight]
The team visits Qazi's grave. Murshad places one of Rafiqa's letters there.
Murshad (quiet):
"You're still solving cases, sir… from the other side."
Fade to black.
