Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Sora Winslow did not actually pass out. Instead, a heavy pillow one that shouldn't have hurt that much—suddenly came flying out of nowhere and hit her right in the face.

The culprit? Hyacinth Chua.

Her face was flushed red, a mix of shame and fury.

Aurora Perish and Soren Halloway couldn't hold it in any longer—they burst into laughter.

Their loud, snorting laughter filled the entire room as they clutched their chests, mimicking Sora Winslow's dramatic pose—or rather, the one Hyacinth Chua had pulled last night.

They knew they should have felt bad for her... but after what happened, that guilt had vanished in an instant.

Because Hyacinth Chua had really done all that.

At first, they had been stunned, unsure whether they should laugh or not. But before they could decide, Hyacinth Chua had dramatically declared her love for Rose Sallow... and then passed out on the spot.

Aurora Perish had been desperate to record it—but, unfortunately, she didn't have her phone with her.

She's supposed to be the main character, yet... why did this feel like one of those novels? The kind where there's plenty of drama and a trending hashtag to go with it, but absolutely no comedy?

Was the author too humble to realize they could write a funny story after all?

What a shame, Aurora Perish thought.

Hyacinth Chua looked like she was about to cry, and that immediately silenced the three who had been laughing. They froze, stunned.

When the hell did she become this cute? they all thought at the same time.

"Is this the power of a main character?" Aurora Perish mused, still in shock. As expected of a protagonist.

"We're sorry," the three said in unison.

Hyacinth Chua shook her head. "It's fine. Honestly, I would've laughed too if I saw it happen to someone else. But really... I was just too sad."

The three nodded, still feeling guilty.

Soren Halloway handed her a tissue, Sora Winslow offered her a snack, and Aurora Perish draped a blanket over her shoulders.

They felt incredibly guilty—like, really guilty. They probably should apologize a thousand times, but they knew Hyacinth Chua would just get annoyed. So, instead, they chose to stay silent.

The room fell into silence instantly. The three didn't dare to speak, afraid they might accidentally offend her again.

That was why they chose to stay quiet.

Awkwardness filled the air.

But Hyacinth Chua wasn't actually offended—she was just heartbroken over Rose Sallow. She didn't cry while she was conscious because her alpha grandfather had always told her that an alpha should never cry.

But right now, she wanted to. She wanted to let it all out, but she couldn't.

She knew the three had tried their best for her—to help her be with Rose Sallow. Sora Winslow and Soren Halloway had even warned her not to chase after Rose, but she hadn't listened.

Hyacinth Chua knew this was all her fault. She was the one who had put herself in this situation—because she had chased after someone blindly.

The awkwardness in the room finally lifted when Hyacinth Chua spoke.

"Can I ask you guys a question?"

The three nodded.

Hyacinth Chua looked both awkward and embarrassed as she touched her ear, clearing her throat before finally asking, "How do people move on from heartbreak?"

The moment the words left her mouth, her awkwardness vanished. She suddenly looked like a serious student, eager to learn.

The three exchanged glances.

"Do any of us even have experience in relationships?" Their eyes silently asked one another.

Sora Winslow and Soren Halloway had never been in a relationship, which was why they remained silent.

Then, their eyes shifted to Aurora Perish, who had been unusually quiet.

Both Sora Winslow and Soren Halloway wore identical expressions of curiosity, silently wondering if Aurora Perish had ever been in a relationship.

Aurora Perish quickly denied it.

After all, the original owner of this body had never had a partner—so technically, neither had she.

Sora Winslow and Soren Halloway sigh

When no one answered, Hyacinth Chua started to feel awkward again. "I know this might be sudden—"

Sora Winslow took a deep breath. As the oldest among them, she figured she was the most qualified to answer—at least when it came to relationships.

Technically, that title belonged to Aurora Perish.

But Aurora Perish would never admit it.

Because how could she even explain it? It was way too bothersome.

Besides, no one would believe her anyway.

Sora Winslow cleared her throat before speaking. "Your relationship is just way too complicated—that's why we don't even know where to start."

Soren Halloway, who was always by Sora Winslow's side, nodded in agreement.

"Maybe... you could forget her by getting into a new relationship?" she suggested hesitantly.

Hyacinth Chua raised an eyebrow. "And why is that?"

Sora Winslow suddenly felt like she was being interrogated by a strict teacher.

Seeing that Sora Winslow was struggling to respond, Soren Halloway stepped in. "You can forget Rose Sallow by finding a new partner. After all, you two were never really together in the first place."

"And instead of thinking about Rose Sallow, you can focus on someone new," she added.

"If that doesn't work... maybe try hooking up with someone?"

Aurora Perish, who had been silently listening, "Are kids these days really like this?"

Hyacinth Chua fell into deep thought. She had never considered this before, but her principles told her no. When she was a child, she had promised herself that she would never be the kind of person who jumped from one relationship to another just to escape heartbreak.

That's why she was now questioning the possibility—was there really no other way to move on?

As Hyacinth Chua remained lost in thought, Aurora Perish finally spoke. "That's a bad idea."

The three of them immediately turned to look at her. Aurora Perish lazily grabbed a snack and took a bite, completely unbothered by their stares.

Before they could ask anything, she continued, "Instead of running away from your problems, why not face them directly? Getting a new partner won't magically help you move on. If anything, you'd just be using them as a rebound. And think about it—how would your new partner feel, knowing that the person they're dating is still hung up on someone else?"

She glanced at them, raising an eyebrow. "What would you guys think about that?"

Soren Halloway and Sora Winslow answered in unison, "They'd be an asshole."

Aurora Perish took another bite of her snack. "Exactly."

Soren Halloway wasn't annoyed that her suggestion had been dismissed. In truth, she also thought it was a bad idea—she had only gone along with Sora Winslow's words without much thought.

Without hesitation, she asked, "Then what should Hyacinth do?"

Soren Halloway was always a very direct person.

And Soren Halloway knows this is much more better for Hyacinth Chua.

Aurora Perish smirked. "Let it all out."

The three looked at her with confusion, question marks practically floating above their heads.

Aurora Perish met their puzzled expressions and smiled. "Just cry."

With that grin on her face, she almost looked like a bully. The others still didn't fully understand—especially the two alphas, though Sora Winslow seemed to have an idea.

Aurora Perish knew why they wouldn't get it. Alphas were always taught to suppress their emotions, raised to believe they had to be strong, never vulnerable. Other alphas expected them to never cry or show weakness. But because of that, they ended up being the most dramatic of all—far more than omegas simply because they had no idea how to handle their emotions properly.

She leaned back and continued, "How else would you face your problems? You deal with them head on instead of running away. It doesn't matter if you're an alpha, omega, beta, male, or female—it's not dramatic. Crying over pain, the loss of a loved one, or a broken heart... that's human."

"And after that, you can go out and spend time with your friends instead of hooking up with someone you're not even interested in."

"Think about how they'd feel if they found out the truth."

The three nodded in unison, finally seeing things from a different perspective.

At first, they were dumbfounded—no one had ever told them this before. People would usually just say, Don't cry. It won't change anything.

Especially Hyacinth Chua, who grew up under the strict expectations of her alpha grandfather. She had spent her whole life trying to be the perfect heir, doing everything she could to meet that impossible standard.
