Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Aurora Perish panicked. She quickly put the picture frame back in its place, then rushed to lie down on her bed. She shut her eyes tightly, pretending to be asleep.

The door slowly swung open, and Jamie Osorio stepped inside. He looked strong and serious, but there was also kindness and worry in his eyes when he looked at Aurora Perish.

Aurora Perish looked through the memories of the body's original owner and realized they had the same personality. She felt dizzy all over, and her throat was dry. Slowly, she opened her eyes and looked up at her father, who closely resembled this body.

Up close, it was clear they were related. Aurora Perish looked more like her Omega father than her Alpha father.

This was the first time Aurora Perish had ever interacted with her parents. She never expected that in her lifetime, she would have two fathers. In her previous world, same gender relationships were still illegal in her country, so the idea of having two dads was something she had never even considered.

"How are you feeling now? Do you need anything?"

She slowly parted her dry lips and whispered, "Water."

Her Omega father quickly nodded and hurried out of the room to get her a glass of water.

Perhaps she was too exhausted to fully process everything.

She passed out.

There was no sunlight coming through the window. When Aurora Perish opened her eyes, she initially thought everything she had experienced was just a dream. But as she looked around at where she was sleeping, she realized it wasn't a dream at all.

It was completely unexpected.

Why had she transmigrated into this story?

Back in 2023, there were countless novels with this exact kind of plot. She had been interested at first, but after a while, she got bored of them. She didn't have much time to spend on her phone anyway.

Speaking of which, the only device she could see on the study table in this room was an old Nokia phone.

Aurora Perish stretched out her hand to grab the phone. After turning it on, she was stunned the date displayed was 2004.

This body... it was much younger than her previous one. The original owner had been born in-

February 16, 1986.

Setting that aside, I checked the original body's messages. Aurora Perish only had one unread message, and it was from a single person. It didn't seem like the original owner was very social. She barely had any contacts just her parents and a few friends. Among them was someone unexpected.

Hyacinth Chua.

The main character. Hyacinth Chua was one of those protagonists with an annoying perspective. A rich second-generation heir, she started off as a total playgirl. I remember there was some reason behind it, but I've forgotten the details. Either way, the only real friend she had was the original Aurora Perish. She was famous, mostly for her looks her wealth played a huge part in that too.

Back to the situation at hand since she was still a sophomore in high school, the story hadn't started yet. That thought made her relax a little.

Since the original body's personality was similar to hers, it wouldn't be too hard to blend in. She wasn't an actress, after all pretending to be someone completely different would be way too troublesome.

Besides, the original body was still in high school, which meant there was a chance for a growth spurt. That could be a good excuse if anything felt off.

Aurora Perish noticed a cup of warm water on the side of her desk.

She picked it up and took a big gulp, instantly refreshing her dry throat.

Checking the time, she realized it was already around dinner. She felt sticky all over, so before eating, she wanted to take a shower.

After gathering what she needed, she recalled from her memories that the bathroom was located at the corner of the hallway. The one in her room was broken, which was why the original owner always used the shared bathroom outside.

Her room was on the second floor. Since she was an only child, there were only three rooms upstairs-hers, her parents' room, and what was supposed to be a guest room but had mostly turned into a storage space.

Their family owned a bakery on the first floor, and at this hour, the original body's parents were likely downstairs, cleaning up the store.

Stepping into the bathroom, she found it to be just an ordinary one.

The original owner's parents preferred to have a separate bathroom and valued cleanliness, so it was spotless. Since she was the only one using this space, it wasn't hard to figure out which toiletries belonged to her.

After taking a shower, she felt refreshed and full of energy.

The original body had been sick for a full week, which explained why she had felt so uncomfortable earlier.

On her way back to her room, she ran into the original body's father, Jamie Osorio. He was an omega, and despite his usually stoic expression, there was a clear look of relief on his face. His child had finally recovered.

Aurora Perish paused as their eyes met.

"You're finally awake. Go downstairs and have your dinner."

Jamie Osorio looked like the type who'd punch you if you didn't listen, but strangely enough, there was a warmth in the way he spoke to her.

"Okay," she replied simply.

Jamie didn't say anything else he was already used to this kind of interaction. He just gave her a nod before heading downstairs.

Once she got back inside her room, Aurora Perish let out a quiet sigh of relief.

She still wasn't used to talking to her so-called parents in this novel.

Now, she wondered when would the original owner come back?

What exactly happened to them?

Was there any chance they would return?

As she mulled over these thoughts, her stomach growled, snapping her back to reality. She realized she was hungry.

She headed downstairs, and sure enough, the dining table was filled with food. In the kitchen, she spotted her two fathers getting plates, surrounded by a pink, bubbly atmosphere.

Aurora Perish hesitated. Should I interrupt them or just wait?

Before she could make a decision, the original body's Alpha father, Sky Perish, called out to her.

Sky Perish, the original Alpha father, appeared slim at first glance, but beneath that lean frame lay a surprising amount of muscle. He stood tall, matching the height of Aurora Perish's original Omega father, Jamie Osorio. His sharp, hawk-like eyes carried an air of quiet authority, and a faint scar along his jaw hinted at a past filled with unspoken battles. His grayish-blue hair, always neatly combed back, gave him a distinguished yet slightly cold appearance, as if he were a man shaped by both privilege and hardship.

"Aura!"

Seriously even here, people still call me that?

Aurora Perish looked over. Sky Perish had a gentle expression on his face, his eyes filled with warmth as he smiled at his precious daughter, who had been unwell for the past few days.

"Are you feeling better now? You don't feel sick anymore? Do you need anything?"

Unexpectedly, he was a complete chatterbox.

Before he could bombard her with even more questions, the original body's omega father, Jamie Osorio, calmly stepped in and cut him off.

"Let's eat."

Both Sky Perish and Aurora nodded in unison, following him to the table.

She realized that the food on the table consisted of the original owner's favorites.

Aurora Perish wasn't particularly picky when it came to food. In her previous life, she had simply eaten whatever was available. Living alone for years had made her feel detached from the idea of homecooked meals like this.

Now, staring at the warm dishes laid out before her, she felt a strange sense of unfamiliarity like she had stepped into someone else's life.

Well she did

Before she could think any further, the original owner's omega father spoke.

"Why aren't you eating yet?"

Her alpha father quickly followed with a concerned comment.

"Are you still feeling unwell?"

Both of them looked at her with worried expressions.

Aurora Perish shook her head and reassured them, "I'm fine."

Realizing there was no point in overthinking, she let herself get caught up in the moment and ate wholeheartedly, savoring the meal.

After dinner, she returned to her room and lay down on her bed. Even though she had been asleep for most of the day, she still felt exhausted. Maybe I'm just not used to this environment yet, she thought.

With that, sleep quickly took over.
