"Where… Where is everyone…? Where is Lancelot…?"
That was the first thing Nora whispered the moment her eyes fluttered open.
We were in another nightmare.
But this one… this one looked deceptively beautiful.
The sky was a vivid blue, scattered with soft, lazy clouds. The land was lush and green, with towering trees swaying gently in the breeze. Birds sang in the distance, and the air smelled of earth and blooming things.
A beautiful nightmare.
I couldn't shake the feeling—we were nearing the end of this mystic world.
"W-Where…?" Her voice trembled again.
Nora's question echoed through the silence.
We were seated beneath a massive tree. Its shadow cloaked us, a gentle shield from the sunlight.
I sat with my back against its wide trunk, and Nora rested against me, curled in my arms. Her head lay over my chest. Her tears soaked my shirt. Her small fists pounded against me in grief—soft at first, then harder, then soft again. Then only sobbing.
"They're dead," I said flatly.
