Third person point of view
Aravind went along with Dev to his house. There were going to look for an outfit for Dev to wear for the performance. He preferred looking simple, but during performances he couldn't be like that. Unexpectedly whenever Aravind helped him dress up, a lot of them would say it was good. Dev didn't know to what extent it was actually true.
But since they said so, he decided to believe that Aravind had a knack and eyes for styling. So Dev sat on the bed as Aravind looked through his closet. Aravind was searching but he did not find anything reliable. He let out a sigh. It was useless to ask Dev for help. He would pick a plaid shirt and jeans, saying it was good enough.
So he stood there silently for a second. He gave Dev a once over. " Since it is getting a little cold during the evenings, it is fine if it is layered right ? " Aravind asked and Dev nodded. He continued his search. He found faded gray jeans. It also had a few scratches and tears. He put that aside and looked around.
He couldn't find any t-shirt pleasing to his eyes. He thought about what he had. He remembered a white tank top he had and nodded to himself. He then looked for a shirt. He found a light pink, white and gray checkered shirt. He put that also aside. He wondered if that would be enough. Dev watched as Aravind looked through everything so meticulously.
Aravind found a denim coat which was a similar tone to the jeans. He put that aside too. " I have a t-shirt at home. I will bring that to you. I actually wanted you to go with either of this, or both of them ". He said showing to the coat and shirt. " But, about which is good, we will see tomorrow ". Dev nodded.
" You have those white shoes right ? " Aravind asked and Dev nodded a little unsure. " What ? Where did you put them ? " Aravind questioned with a frown and Dev got up from the bed. He looked around in his room but they weren't there. Aravind stood there with folded hands. " They should be in the shoe rack ". Dev said but Aravind looked like he didn't buy it.
" Let me go check ". Dev quickly walked out. Aravind went and sat on the bed waiting for Dev. Dev ran up in a few minutes. " They are there ". " Are they clean ? If not make sure to clean them ". Dev nodded. " Then... that's it. Make sure to pack them all without forgetting ". Dev nodded. Aravind picked up his things and went home.
Dev put aside the things Aravind picked, carefully. He then went and brought his shoes to clean. He finished it and dried them. He sent a picture to Aravind. Aravind chuckled when he saw it. The rest of the evening went by like usual and he went back to his room after dinner. He fell on the bed with a sigh.
He thought about Dev's words during the rehearsal. He couldn't stop thinking about it during the week and now even more. He couldn't fall asleep easily either. He tossed and turned for a while before he was tired and fell asleep. They were lucky to not have classes the next day because of the fest.
After not sleeping till late into the night, Aravind slept till 10. He woke up and did his things. He had breakfast and wasted some time. He then had lunch along with his mother and then got to packing. He first picked up the t-shirt for Dev and put it in his bag. He then looked for something to wear.
He looked around and took out black jeans. He searched a little more and found a light blue t-shirt with a V-neck. It had a knit pattern but wasn't really thick. He contemplated about it. He searched for something else but decided it was fine. It was going to get a little cold anyway, so he should be fine.
He put them aside and put his phone for charging. He picked up his laptop and played some games. After a while, his alarm rang. He turned it off and got out of bed. He picked up a towel and went to take a shower. He finished it and walked out wiping his head. He quickly dried his hair and then dressed up.
He continued drying it a little more till it was almost dry. The remaining dampness was fine. It would air dry. He pushed hair around a little and left it at that. He checked the time and it was 3:08. He quickly picked up all his things and walked out. He found his mother watching a serial in the living room.
" Amma, I will get going. I am not exactly sure when I will come back. Dev's performance is towards the end. So it won't be early, but I will try my best ". She nodded. " Be careful when driving at night ". Aravind nodded and put on his shoes. He walked out and saw Dev was already waiting.
He was still in his usual wear. He will change it to the outfit later as there was time. Aravind quickly walked up to him. " Were you waiting long ? " Dev shook his head. " I just parked ". The both of them put on the helmets and drove to the college.
