Chapter 31 - Chapter 30

Third person point of view

The next day, was Sunday but Aravind felt irked because of how bored he was. For the past month, he has been helping Dev with the laundry. Now that the month was over, he didn't have anything to do. He had his project to work on, but he felt too lazy to use his brain so much. He was left with nothing to do.

And Dev was probably busy looking for songs and discussing with his band mates. Aravind did not want to disturb him. He also did not want to watch anything. He sighed and decided to not dwell like this. He got out of bed and walked out of his room. He went to the backyard and started watering the plants with a deadpan face.

Atharva who came out for a smoke saw him and was shocked. " Are you drunk ? " Atharva asked not able to believe the scene he was seeing. Aravind did not bother to turn around and did his things while answering. " Nope ". Atharva lit up his cigarette and took a deep breath. He let out a puff of smoke.

" Then ? Did the plants offend you in some way ? " " I am just bored ". Aravind answered with a roll of his eyes. Atharva chuckled and let out another puff. " Want to learn coding ? " Atharva asked and Aravind snickered. " If I had interest in it, I would have picked CSE like you ". Atharva nodded and continued to smoke in silence. Atharva finished it.

He squished the cigarette against the wall and threw it in the bin. " Then... enjoy your gardening ". Aravind turned around with the water pipe ready to splash it on Atharva. Atharva moved away quickly and laughed while escaping. He went into the house. Aravind went around the house watering all the plants.

He went back in and went to the bathroom. He washed his hands and legs. He walked back out and sat on his bed. He did not have any option so he looked through twitter and Instagram and wasted time until his mother called him for dinner. After dinner, he watched TV with his family and fell asleep.

The next day, they went to college as usual. They walked to the class but Dev stopped at the door. Aravind also did and turned to him. " What ? " " I will get going ". " You will practice for the whole day ? " Dev nodded. " You should've just gone directly ". " I wanted to drop you off till here. And I will come back for lunch. So don't miss me too much ". Dev smiled.

Aravind rolled his eyes. " You sure have high expectations. Get lost ". Dev chuckled. " Bye ". He walked away and Aravind went into the class. He chatted with the gang. His day felt a lot more dreadful than he expected. Only he knew that he was bluffing when he said he wouldn't miss Dev. He very much would. He twirled the pen mindlessly.

It was finally lunch time and Aravind's eyes kept looking at the corridor. He finally noticed Dev walking towards the class. He quickly looked away and pretended to not notice. Dev walked in and sat down beside Aravind giving him a smile. The others all turned to him and they chatted while having lunch.

" I guess we won't see you much this week ". Karthik said and Dev nodded. Aravind didn't talk much and Dev didn't get to spare much of his attention to Aravind but they were still happy to be able to see each other in the little time they had. They were done with the lunch. " Parking lot ". Dev said and Aravind nodded.

He smiled and walked away. Aravind sighed resting his face in his hand. He wondered if this is what it feels like to be lovesick. The lecturer walked in and he pushed the thought away to concentrate on the class. He had to write notes to give to Dev. The classes went by. Aravind packed up and left along with his gang.

They parted ways at the gate. When Aravind went to the parking lot, Dev was already there. Aravind picked up his pace. He walked quickly and went to him. Dev looked up and gave him his helmet. Aravind put it on and looked up at the sky. " It looks like it will rain ". He said getting on the bike. Dev also looked up and nodded.

" I hope it will wait until we go home ". Aravind said and Dev nodded in agreement. And luckily it didn't rain on their way home. Dev parked the bike and Aravind got off. He took off the helmet and handed it Dev. He also took out the notes and gave them to Dev. " I will give them tomorrow ". Aravind nodded and walked to his house.

As soon as he walked out of the shower, he felt the cool air coming from the open window. He looked out and it was starting to rain. He already put his phone in charging, so he didn't worry about power cut. By the time he was done dressing up, the rain was pouring. He felt rather nostalgic when it rained.

He liked it but also didn't. The feeling was too bittersweet. He watched for a few minutes through the window before walking away. He sat on the bed turning his laptop on and opened YouTube. The series he was watching has already gone forward but he didn't catch up. So he decided to do that.
