Third person point of view
The next day they all got to work and started the cleaning work. Dev looked around trying to find Aravind. He finally found him in the changing room. " Aravind ". Aravind looked up and Dev put a mask on him. Rashi who was passing by from outside noticed this and her eyes went wide. She quickly slipped away with a smile.
Aravind smiled. Even though half of his face was covered by the mask, Dev could say he was smiling from the way his eyes curved. " Thanks ". Dev just smiled and walked out of there. With the effort of all of them, the cleaning was mostly done. They were all exhausted and dusty by the time they were done.
Dev noticed Aravind who looked like he wanted to just sleep right there. They walked out to go home. Dev walked slowly along with Aravind. " Want me to piggy back you ? " Dev asked and Aravind shook his head. " Did you not do work too ? Now you even need to drive. Are you a superhero ? "
Dev chuckled. Aravind also smiled. " It is alright ". " Fine ". They reached the parking lot and drove away. The first thing they did as soon as they entered the house was to take a shower. They were definitely not in the state to do anything else. Aravind had dinner quickly and fell asleep sooner than his usual time.
The next day, they finished the cleaning completely and also fixed all the other things too. They turned on all the switches at once and the backstage lit up. They all cheered as they were done with the work. " You will be given attendance for tomorrow too but if help is needed for other things, we will definitely call you guys ".
Rashi informed and they all agreed. They sat in the auditorium seats to finally relax. Rashi walked out of there and saw Dev who was walking in her direction. She went to stand in front of him. " I want to have a word with you. Is that fine ? " Rashi asked and Dev nodded. They stood at the end of the corridor.
" So ? " Dev asked. Rashi looked around to see if there was anyone and then moved a little closer to Dev. " It might sound like privacy invasion but I really couldn't stop myself from asking. So please don't take it to heart okay ? " Dev was confused but nodded. " Are you and Aravind... ? " Dev tilted his head.
" What about us ? " Rashi put two index fingers together. Dev looked clueless. Rashi licked her lips, feeling nervous. " You know... that kind of relationship ? " Dev frowned. " What kind ? " " Dating.... kind ? " Rashi spoke tentatively. Dev's eyes went wide in shock. " What ? " Rashi cleared her throat and looked around again.
" Are you guys lovers ? " She asked courageously the second time. Dev frowned. " What made you think so ? " Rashi's face dropped. " So you are not ? " She asked again. " Answer my question first ". Dev said and Rashi scratched his head. " I mean... it just feels like that. I just thought you guys really feel like that. You know the vibes around you guys maybe ? "
Dev didn't know what to say. He knew they were acting like they always were. And now he couldn't help but wonder about how many people would've thought that way. He even doubted if their gang also had those kinds of thoughts. He turned to Rashi. " Does it really seem that way ? " Rashi nodded.
Dev let out a breath. " No, we are not ". Rashi looked sad at his answer. " Fine. Sorry for asking like this ". Dev did not know what she was disappointed about but couldn't bother. " It's alright ". Rashi smiled and walked away. She went on her way as she had something to do. Dev went in and saw they were all looking at some papers.
He walked up from behind and peeked over Aravind's shoulder to see what was in the paper. " What are these ? " He asked looking at it. " The list of beverages for the fresher day ". Aravind answered. Dev continued to look at it. He put his hand around Aravind's shoulder, leaning forward.
He could see from the corner of his eyes and none of their gang seemed bothered about their behavior. Dev decided to leave it with the conclusion that Rashi was maybe looking too much into it. He pushed the matter to the back of his mind. They discussed about it and fixed on two of them.
Since they were done with the work in the auditorium, they went to help in other things during the rest of the time. Dev and Aravind were helping with the decoration of the entrance. They weren't as busy but still helped as much as they could before going back home at their usual time.
Aravind got down from the bike and removed the helmet. He handed it to Dev. " Don't even dare call me tomorrow. I am going to take rest at home ". Dev laughed and nodded. " Okay ". Aravind smiled and went to his house. He really did rest all through the day.
It was finally the D-day. Aravind and Dev went and met up with their friends. They were well dressed compared to their daily attires. " What is this ? What is with you guys today ? " Aravind asked looking at them. " You really put a lot of effort ". He said with a chuckle. Dev and Aravind were dressed normally like they always do.
" I really envy these two ". Sushanth said pointing at them. Arjun let out a sigh. Karthik also nodded in agreement. " One doesn't need to dress up because he has it all ". Abhay said pointing at Dev and then at Aravind before continuing. " One doesn't even care about these kinds of things. You guys have a happy life, don't you ? "
Aravind was ready to smack his head. " Don't ". Abhay went and hid behind Arjun. " I styled it with a lot of effort today ". All of them laughed. They shook their heads and went to find Akshay. " Hey. Thanks for the help ". " It is nothing ". Dev said and Akshay smiled. " For today, there isn't any necessary help. People are already there. If there is something, I will call you guys ".
" Cool ". Dev said and they went to sit with their classmates. They watched the opening dance and left when the speeches started. They just went around for a while and then went to the auditorium again when they heard the dance performance and skits were going to start. Everything went smoothly and it was finally over.
