Upon hearing the question, Xiao Mo didn't immediately answer but instead remained silent.
Everyone shot the girl who had asked the question disapproving looks. The girl, who couldn't help her curiosity, felt ashamed and was about to apologize, but Xiao Mo quickly spoke.
"No, it's fine. I don't mind answering the question. I was gathering my thoughts."
"Brother Xiao Mo, if it's something you don't wish to say, then we don't want you to force yourself."
"That's right, it's okay if you can't tell."
All the girls took turns comforting Xiao Mo, which made him feel quite happy inside. Aside from his family and Mei-Mei, no one had spoken to him in such a way. In that, he meant no one had treated him normally. Back home everyone was either fawning over his looks or harshly criticizing his behavior.
Xiao Mo thought he had grown indifferent to how people treat him, but here he was feeling happy that a bunch of maidens he barely knew were being considerate of his feelings.
