"Miss Aurora, you can get in the car now..."
Aurora was taken aback when she heard Alvin's voice. "Thanks..." she responded briefly before looking at Alex. She gently bowed her head to Alex and settled beside him.
She felt her heart race. Her cold hands, resting on her lap, were tightly clenched.
Sitting beside Alex again, Aurora found it difficult to describe her feelings. It felt surreal; she had faced death, yet here she was, even though she did not appear as Aurora Moon.
After a few more seconds of waiting, she noticed that Alex seemed to be avoiding her gaze. Unable to bear the silence, she greeted him first.
"Mr. Graystone... Good morning," her soft, weak voice prompted Alex to glance at her.
"You don't need to speak formally to me. Just call me Alex," he replied coldly before turning to Alvin and asking him to drive the car.
Aurora sighed quietly as she gazed at Alex's icy expression. All the words she had prepared vanished from her mind.
