Gia's POV
"We are running late sir"
Jeremy broke our moment. It is good that he came at the right time. I don't know what would have happened, he was looking at me like he was going to rip the dress off me any second and I would have let him.
Clenching and unclenching his jaw, Dominic held out a hand for me and I took it as we stepped outside.
"Where is it happening?" I asked Dominic when we were in the car heading to the party.
"At an hotel"
"I know dunderhead" he growled at the name. "I meant which hotel?like where are we going? Out of town or in town"
He turned to me. "My hotel"
At that Moment his phone rang and he turned to answer it. Ignoring me completely.
I don't know what is wrong with him. He is mostly nice to me but he is always hot and cold. Maybe he resents me a bit. My sister got him killed and I share blood with her even though I was killed too. Maybe he doesn't want to marry me. I know it was a marriage of convenience but he suggested it on a whim. He never thought about how it would be and now that we are married maybe he is regretting. We didn't even consummate our marriage. Maybe I was cutting him from sex.
"Are you having sex with someone?" I asked curious but it must come out as a bite. I guess I shouldn't have asked the question
He said something to the other person on the phone and hung up the phone.
His eyes met mine. Amusement dancing in them but no smile on his face.
"Why?" He asked his eyes dancing with mirth. Baiting me.
And I took it.
"So you are" the words tasted bitter on my tongue and disappointment clouded my head. I shouldn't mind. It is not like we are in love or anything but why does it hurt this much.
"And if I was?"
He asked me. His eyes still on me doing things to me.
"You can do anything you want. It is not like we are committed to each other or something. Just don't bring them home. I don't think it will be right. And who knows what might happen to you and the girl if you bring them home" I bite at the words that were bitter to say. I don't want him with anyone but what else can I do.
"You are jealous"
"No I am not. I am just stating logic. If I brought someone home to fuck would you like it?"
His eyes darkened and his jaw clenched. His hands clenching before gently placing his hands on my hair. Stroking it gently making sure not to ruin it.
"No man would dare touch you. You are mine just know that" he said with a chilling smile on his face.
"So you can have sex and I can't? That doesn't seem fair. Does it?" Anger boiled in my chest at his words. We might be married but I am not his. Not in the slightest bit.
"I am not having sex with anyone. Haven't since Jennifer..." His jaw clenched at the mention of my sister's name.
"Do you still love her?" I asked the question that has been on my mind for a while.
He opened his mouth to speak but he was cut off by Jeremy
"We are here sir"
He didn't answer my question and just opened his door. It hurts. But I understand, he was about to marry before he was killed by her. But it doesn't make it hurt any less. He was someone that committed 100% to a relationship. And now he was hurt. And I am hurt.
I took a moment to gather myself before the door to my side opened and Dominic in all his handsome glory and a sweet smile on his face held out his hands for me.
I took his hands with a smile on my face just because I couldn't help it. Not with the look he is giving me. Like I was the only one in his mind. Even though my mind knows it is all for show.

The party was in full swing with lots of workers and rich men and women dressed in expensive and elegant dresses and men in tux.
Lots of chatters and fake laughs. This is the first time I am seeing him in this setting. His chuckles and charming conversations, sure I have seen him work at the cafe and he was a charmer. But this is so different.
"This is my wife, Gia. She is an award winning doctor in new york" Dominic introduced me to a board member In his company "Love, this is Mr Hendrix. He is a board member in the company and my father's best friend and my guardian "
The man hugged me which surprised me. They must have been close enough.
"Welcome to the family. You are so beautiful. He got married without informing anyone. Always been like that, once he wants something he gets it doesn't matter who or what gets in his way"
"So you are medical doctor. Which hospital?"
"No need to know that. We can do the proper introduction "
"You are always ready to leave. Make sometime for this old man too" he raised his brow at him. He must be really important to Dominic. Considering he never talks about his family. Other that what the public knows of his family. I know nothing about him. He always diverted Questions about his family and I never pushed because I knew how it felt to want to not talk about a part of your life that was painful.
"Why don't you come for dinner at my house tomorrow?"
"Uncle, we will come during the weekend. Don't stress my wife. We are still newly married. We are moving to the House tomorrow " Dominic held me closer and placed a kiss on cheek.
"You being newly married is exactly why we need to have dinner. The wife miss you" Mr Hendrix said with a wide smile on his face. He must be so happy to see him.
"We will be there, Mr Hendrix. Don't worry, I will drag his grumpy self to the dinner myself "
"Call me David. And I will be so happy to have you, anyway, I will leave you to your evening. I have people to greet".
"I don't remember you saying we are moving tomorrow. You said Wednesday "
"I know. I just didn't want to stress you. I know you have a lot to do"
"I know. But you are my husband "
He groaned at that. His hands tightening on my waist and his body so close to me.
"That's right! I am your husband and you are my wife"
The moment was interrupted by someone greeting Dominic. The night was a blur of introductions and small talks. Dominic said a speech and I saw how easily he was able to command a room without even trying. He was so charming and smooth that I felt lucky that I was able to have a man like this by my side and my friend.
