Chapter 91 - MUGEN TRAIN MAYHEM: THUNDER RAGE VS. TRAIN DEMON

Tanjiro had one goal—wake up everyone still trapped in Enmu's nightmare.

Zenitsu had one goal—stop having terrifying dreams that included Nezuko running off with another man.

Inosuke had one goal—HEADBUTT THE TRAIN INTO OBLIVION.

And Rengoku?

"UMAI! LET US SLAY THIS DEMON WHILE PROTECTING THE PASSENGERS!" he declared, devouring another bento box mid-sentence.

The entire train shook violently, throwing people around like ragdolls.

"Oh, for crying out loud," Raja muttered from the shadows. Still in stealth mode, he casually lifted all the passengers with telekinesis so they wouldn't break their fragile, human necks.

And yet, not a single person noticed.

Because all hell broke loose.

While Tanjiro hurried to wake the remaining passengers, Zenitsu finally confronted Enmu.

The tentacle-faced nightmare demon slithered out of the shadows, his voice syrupy with smugness.

"Ahh, you should have just stayed in your dreams, little warrior. A world where Nezuko truly loves you~"

Zenitsu's eye twitched.

His blood boiled.

His brain shattered.

"HOW DARE YOU BRING UP NEZUKO-CHAN LIKE THAT?!" Zenitsu roared, full rage mode activated.

The air cracked with electricity as Zenitsu ripped through Enmu's fleshy train-like body, beheading him instantly.

Splat!

Enmu's head hit the ground… and smirked.

"Oh, dear. Did you think that would kill me?"

Zenitsu froze."...Why are you still talking?"

Enmu cackled, his head dissolving into mist.

The train rumbled again.

"I am the train now," Enmu cooed. "You're all riding inside my stomach~"

Zenitsu visibly gagged."THAT IS THE MOST DISGUSTING THING I HAVE EVER HEARD—"

And then, tentacles exploded from the ceiling.

Zenitsu let out a manly scream (totally not high-pitched) as he dodged frantically through the slithering mess.

Meanwhile, Insouke grinned.

"AH! THEN I SHALL SLICE THE TRAIN TO PIECES!"

Tanjiro grabbed his arm immediately."NO! We need to protect the passengers!"

Inosuke nodded. "THEN WE SHALL SLICE THE TRAIN CAREFULLY!"

Tanjiro sighed."Sure… let's call it that."

While Zenitsu screeched his way through the tentacle maze, Rengoku and Tanjiro fought to protect the passengers.

Inosuke?

Inosuke was having the time of his life.

"AHHH! A TRAIN DEMON?! FINALLY, A WORTHY OPPONENT!" he howled, swinging wildly at the fleshy walls.

"INO— NO, STOP!" Tanjiro yelled. "YOU CAN'T JUST SLASH EVERYTHING!"

"WHY NOT?! THIS IS A DEMON, RIGHT?!"

Rengoku facepalmed.

"JUST FIND THE DEMON MAIN BODY! THEN SLAY THE DEMON NECK!"

Inosuke froze mid-swing.

"Oh… right."

He dramatically knelt on the ground, pressing his hands into the floor.

"BEAST BREATHING, SEVENTH FORM: SPATIAL AWARENESS!"

His nostrils flared. His muscles tensed. His brain—well, what little was there—worked overtime.

"THE NECK IS IN THE ENGINE ROOM!" he bellowed.

Rengoku beamed."AH! THEN WE SHALL CHARGE!"

Zenitsu, still battling tentacle hell, perked up.

"THE ENGINE ROOM?! WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO?! I'M ON IT!"

Zenitsu became a blur.

He bulldozed his way through the train at inhuman speed, cleaving through tentacles like they were mere cobwebs.

Passengers screamed in terror.

"WHAT IS THAT?!"

"IS IT A LIGHTNING BOLT?"

"NO, IT'S A SCREAMING YELLOW LIGHTNING BOLT!"

Enmu's remaining flesh body quivered.

"NO! STOP HIM!"

Zenitsu reached the Engine Room, his eyes burning with fury.

He leaped into the air blasting the roof of Engine room, his sword crackling with power.

"THUNDER BREATHING, FIRST FORM… GOD SPEED!"

BOOM!

Zenitsu ripped through Enmu's neck like a meteorite, slicing cleanly through.

The train quaked, letting out a final, agonized shriek.

Enmu wailed.

"NOOOOOO! HOW CAN A PATHETIC, TERRIFIED COWARD LIKE YOU DEFEAT ME?!"

Zenitsu pointed his sword downward.

"I MAY BE A COWARD, BUT AT LEAST I'M NOT A TRAIN FETISHIST!"

Enmu: "…"

And then—

Poof.

Enmu crumbled into ash.

But the train was still crashing.

Rengoku dashed forward, flames roaring.

"FLAME BREATHING, SECOND FORM: RISING SCORCHING SUN!"

His blade ignited, slicing through the remaining demonic flesh, preventing further damage.

Tanjiro followed his lead.

"SUN BREATHING: BURNING BONES, SUMMER SUN!"

A spiraling, fiery slash erupted from his sword, disintegrating the last remnants of Enmu's control over the train.

And Inosuke?

Inosuke headbutted the control panel.

"TAKE THAT, TRAIN BEAST!"

Tanjiro: "THAT'S NOT HOW TRAINS WORK, YOU LUNATIC!"

Meanwhile, Raja, still unseen, watched the literal disaster unfold.

"Tch, amateurs."

With a flick of his fingers, he used telekinesis to gently slow the train down, ensuring it derailed safely without casualties.

Passengers miraculously landed safely in the grass, all of them dazed but unharmed.

People looked around, confused.

"We… we survived?"

"Wow… I always knew Demon Slayers were amazing!"

Raja smirked from the shadows.

"Yes, yes, credit the children. I'll just be over here, being an unsung god, as usual."

Zenitsu collapsed into the dirt.

"I… am never getting on a train again."

Inosuke jumped onto the wreckage.

"I HAVE SLAYED THE METAL BEAST! BOW BEFORE ME!"

Tanjiro sighed, helping up the passengers.

Rengoku stood tall, hands on his hips.

"A GLORIOUS VICTORY! NOW, LET US CELEBRATE WITH—"

Everyone braced for it.

"—BENTO BOXES!"

Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke collectively groaned.

And somewhere in the distance, Raja laughed.

TO BE CONTINUED… BECAUSE AKAZA IS COMING. 🔥
